  1. Sweet looking list Count but I would make the Add Remove columns for the first offense then in the comments add the subsequent offense if applicable. The only other problem I see is that the updater will need to know and understand HTML tables.
  2. Seriously, you don't read a seller's feedback when bidding on ebay? An informed consumer is a smart one. Many of the problems over the past 6 months on these boards are from repeat offenders. I would like to see the history readily available as a tool for whomever wants to use it but that is my opinion. I am not insulted if it does not get included, everyone should weigh in on the subject. Perhaps it should be better formated? Either way, I am still tracking it for my own benefits.

  4. Thanks David for including me. I would love to see a separate category at the end of the list with a running tally of repeat offenders. I could change the formating a bit too. I will post a new format after this one. Personally, I wouldn't split the "Hall of Shame" from the probation list. Everyone should be listed in alpha order so it is easy to reference especially for newcomers. If the majority wants catergorization than drop the "Hall of Shame" member notation at least.
  5. I am curious was the package opened from where it was shipped from, from where it was received from or somewhere in the middle of transit? Sorry I cannot read the stamp nor do I know the chain of origin either. Media mail can be opened any time during its travel. Anything with advertisement is not valid for media mail. DC Dollar comics are fine as they have no ads.
  6. As usual, the post office doesn't know what they're talking about - anybody can send media mail. A 5 lbs media mail box going from California to NYC costs just $4.00. A 40 lbs media mail box would be $17.59. I was in San Francisco on business recently, had some downtime and ended up picking up almost a full shortbox of comics from various stores. I media mailed them back to my home in Illinois for around $10 or so. The only problem is comics are not allowed to be shipped media mail and it depends on the Post Master's decision for that area whether it is allowable. Really stupid and I tried getting a definitive answer from my post office who switched me over to the Post Master's office. Which by then I hung up and figured why open a can of worms when my post office allows it.
  7. Someone got their wish today and Trey Cannon gets a strike. http://boards.collectors-society.com/ubbthreads.php?ubb=showflat&Number=3267476
  8. That would be great but perhaps start a new thread maybe over in General.
  9. But that's not what we're taking about, as these were clearly outlined longbox lots (era, average condition, company, original source, etc.), where the seller committed lie after lie after lie concerning the description. I followed that sales thread and I thought the boxes sounded promising especially after seeing the pics. I don't have the space for that many comics. Also, I did not have a good feeling about that seller to begin with as he was on the prob list before and paid another boardie to get off the list. I would love to see pictures of the actual content shipped before making a decision but from the sounds of everyone complaining, it does not look good for the seller. I agree that Mystery Boxes should not be allowed in the marketplace as well. Although I am sure that will lead to private PM deals.

  11. I truly feel bad for the buyers left with these boxes. I don't have any fight in this and don't want to clutter up this thread any further but someone had requested a list of member that were ever on probation. This is the original list I posted on 05/26/09.
  12. Actually, Connor I don't see you working to make sure that everyone is paid in full. If it was noticeable do you think anyone would still be talking about this? Communication is key. Why are you soley relying on Paypal anyway? Surely there are other means of getting refunds to everyone. Commerce did exist prior to paypal.
  13. He was given plenty of time to do the right thing. He could have sold 1 book from his GA flame-throwing cover collection on ebay, and paid these people. I'm not sure anyone who was owed was willing to risk relying on Conner to send their money. We will not agree on this and that is fine. I do wish to see everyone paid. Connor has really dug himself in a hole because his paypal account is frozen (from what I have read) and he would have problems selling on ebay without using paypal. So it is not that easy for him to just sell one of his books. He does not strike me as the type of character to make that kind of self-sacrifice either. He is skirting something here which smell bad to me.
  14. By the way, do you know if an officer showed up to the house and spoke with the parents? That is definitely what was needed most to drive a point home on top of the funds being returned. My thinking is that his parents still are clueless and that is why he cannot remit payment. If someone send him a check, perhaps he has no means for cashing it without getting his parents involved. Really the whole thing does not make any sense otherwise. He's already spent the money so he has no funds to make everyone whole again. But, why is there a problem if Junk pays him direct?
  15. I'm not sure their was a better solution. I have to agree. This entire situation was a mess that needed any form of cleanup, but there is never a set playbook to undue a trainwreck. You deal with it the best you can with what you have available. Connor should realize how much of a painful situation he created for everyone, including himself, and be thankful so many kind people jumped in to resolve the aftermath of his mess. I simply don't understand what the problem is for Connor to leave his game playing and go to the post office. Pay for MO and mail them to everyone. That is his duty to clean up his mess. I know that this is not a popular opinion here but it appears to me that once again everyone is holding this child's hand. We really will never know if he would have done the right thing now will we?
  16. Welcome back PROBATION LIST scammer, how are you? well, I dont know what he did in the past and I didnt ck to see if he was on the list. I bought a Chew #1 From him and it arrived today. It's actually a real nice copy and will be sent to CGC. I'm not sure if that will help or redeem his name but I am a happy camper from the deal we made this past week... so this guy is on the probie list and is still selling books. what a . j Okay, let's clear some stuff up. First off, I didn't scam anyone. As Pirate can easily tell anyone, all I did was back out of a deal for my own personal reasons, and he can't seem to let that go. And if he's referring to my attempt to bury the hatchet by having him witness a signing, he blew up when I asked him if he'd take payment after the books had been signed (For the record, I've had several books witnessed by multiple witnesses, all of which accepted payment afterwards. I'd rather pay after I know the book is signed, that way nobody has to worry about sending money if the book doesn't get signed.) Second, I didn't sell anything on the moderns boards. If you look at my posts, all I said was that I had several copies available, and seeing as how this thread is devoted to the comic, I figured these guys could use the copies the most. Last but not least, as you have already heard from bcruze, he received his book, and to quote him, wrote "kudos to the following guys for great books and super fast shipping and well packaged books ThatOneGuy" So I would think this would clear up some confusion about the whole "scammer" thing, don't you think? you are missing the point, the probation list is here to present to buyers and sellers the members who have NOT completed an agreed deal. The probie list states that unless the person that the deal was broken with agrees to remove the offender, that offender CANNOT sell on the boards regardless if it is in the selling threads or any of the other threads. The issue that put you on the probie list HAS to be corrected prior to any sales on these threads. Using the excuse "Second, I didn't sell anything on the moderns boards. If you look at my posts, all I said was that I had several copies available, and seeing as how this thread is devoted to the comic, I figured these guys could use the copies the most." I have this one question for you, DID MONEY EXCHANGE HANDS FOR THESE BOOKS? If the answer is yes, would that not be SELLING? The reason I'm coming down hard is the past few weeks have seen a long list of selling and buying issues spring up, and regardless if i was not invloved in one of them, I would still bring this up because the original person you agreed to deal with has not been provided a reasonable SOLUTION to the issue. It doesn't matter if bcruze got his book (but he is a cool guy!) it's the person from last year or 2007 has not be made good. How would you like it if someone made a deal with you and it got to the point that you HAD to put them on the list and over a year and a half later they sold a book or two but didn't sell a book or two, they just exchanged money for certain books that were in high demand? Would you be happy? Guess not. over. j I have to agree with Junk here. You are on the probation list so make amends with the seller before pimping your own books. That is how it works here. I suggest PM pirate and coming to some conclusion over the transaction.

  18. What a great life lesson Connor is learning here. Screw a bunch of people who trusted him, make a huge mess in the process and some else is going to clean it up. Sorry but this is a disgrace. Junk, your efforts are grand but IMO, I would send the money directly to Connor himself. Your transaction is between the two of you only. It is up to Connor to straighten out the rest. Let him figure out how to get the funds to everyone. BTW - does anyone know if there was a knock on his door yet?
  19. Not to derail this thread but I was always wondering how many complaints it takes for Paypal to suspend an account. I am curious if it is a certain number and if so, how many and over what period of time. They would never answer that question when I asked awhile back. You are atleast doing the right thing but attempt to make payment.
  20. Got an email from paypal today: "An eCheck payment from Connor Amans was declined by the sender's bank." So much for my refund Don't worry the real check is in the mail.
  21. Was this due to a claim you made thru paypal, or was this inititated by CAP? I just filed a claim with paypal myself. I don't know, unfortunately. After winning my paypal claim, I was informed that they were unable to recover any funds from his account - but that they would try again later. So it could be either one. Glad to hear that you got most of your money back. I sounds like money was deposited into the account.
