  1. Evil Fabulous Empire Sounds like a mash-up of Queensryche and Rage Against the Machine with the Village People and Scissor Sisters. There's a thought.
  2. Must make trousers a nuisance. No problem for Andrew or Kevin here, Jimmers. Remember that the North East has world-class tailors - their predecessors created the perfect, fitted t-shirt that, while tissue-thin, forms a thermally-occlusive layer efficient enough to completely protect the wearer from the extreme weather conditions encountered along the English periphery of the North Sea. We must hang out sometime, somewhere. I am certain we would get along. I agree. (thumbs u

  4. ... of randomness begins. All-new, all-different. Sunny here, on the West Coast - it's no longer grim.
  5. If it's anything to do with my posts, I'm betting it was a disgruntled Brony.
  6. +1 With hindsight, I realised that the comment I made about the sport of daintily-trotting horses was maybe a bit provocative and tasteless and could've deeply offended someone, enough for them to hit the moderator button and place the thread in jeopardy. You can imagine my relief when I found it was still here.
  7. It is a hard, frighteningly-brutal man's sport, which scares even seasoned, professional ice hockey players.
  8. Great news. Hellboy 2 is on my top 10 super-hero film list. Big fan of Del Toro's work.
  9. The frame is worth £40? Apparently, a couple of them sold. Encapsulation, UK style. No grading, but you do get a nice, shiny frame.
  10. A small mart was held in a shopping centre near here a couple of weekends ago. Interesting product on sale - cheap comics, such as Marvel Fanfare 1, mounted in silver picture frames - for £40 each.
  11. The last Leeds Golden Orbit mart I attended was in summer 94, then held at the university. It got to the stage where I was only finding one or two comics and it wasn't worth the effort. They were at their peak in the early to mid 80s at the Griffin Hotel. Enjoyed those.
  12. I've just finished it a couple of days ago. The Necromorphs are faster, more aggressive and attack in larger groups in many places, compared to DS 1. Also, one of the best-looking games I've seen on PS3 - extremely detailed full HD graphics, nice lighting effects. Excellent.
  13. Here's a link to some public domain Charlton books for you to read... http://digitalcomicmuseum.com/index.php?cid=264
  14. Too easy. A very famous vocalist. Used to be in The Smiths.
  15. +1000 That probably IS Liefeld at his best. I'm starting to get anxiety looking at this crud from the 90's.... I would disagree. The one thing that I think he improved on was his line work. He actually started using more of them and thus covered up more of the mistakes 'The detail in Rob Liefeld's art is incredible', it used to be said. That was a way a number of artists were promoted, twenty-odd years ago, above storytelling ability.
  16. Is that the double-page Ronin swipe, or am I getting confused?
  17. In the early 80s I was reading European material in Heavy Metal magazine as well as conventional American super-hero comics, and so for me the learning curve to appreciate Ronin wasn't too steep - despite it being very different to Miller's work on Daredevil.

  19. Part 2... Eccles cakes, Pontefract cakes, Kendal Mint Cake, Uncle Joe's Mint Balls, Hovis. A bit more palatable.
  20. Tripe, cow heel, pigs trotters, tongue, black pudding, pies.
  21. I enjoyed Ronin. I also have the Absolute edition, which is really nice.
  22. Better to wait. I recently picked up the PS3 Amazing Spider-Man game for £10.
