  1. Is that from #2 to #3? We should see some stability at #4 or #5 and then a slow and steady rise if it captures the readers.
  2. I don't think any of us will need to take out a second or third job for the movies. With the number coming out, your collection should gain more than enough via tv/movie hype price jumps to compensate for it. All you need to do is buy doubles of every key related to the movies or tv shows now and flip the duplicate later.......
  3. I picked up a few runs in collections over the past three weeks so
  4. I have to list a few more on ebay, I have easily 10-15 copies of this book. Wow. Even raws are selling for $9.99 consistently. Time to back up the truck and dump them if you have some.....
  5. Bingo. Only diff is that the emphasis is on female readers as opposed to collectors.. Thats the reason why the TPB hold a #1 spot. It is an EASY book to market to everyone based on commercial value and appeal... Wanna buy your GF a cool gift? Get her a Rat Queens Tee Wanna buy your niece a cool read.. There you go.. Rat Queens TPB Once they get it.. Theyre hooked.. Cant do that with any other book that I know of today. I already said it before.. This doesnt even needs a TV show, its just INEVITABLE.. It only needs a female celebrity tweet (selena gomez, Miley, Rihanna..).. A talk show recomendation (The View, Ellen Show, etc..) and BOOM This one screams cross over all around it. 20,000 print run of #1 is NOTHING if this gets to TMNT levels, which in my belief, it would. While I agree it has great potential with a TV show, this book is nowhere near a TMNT or Walking Dead in value. With a lot of luck it could maybe reach Saga price levels for #1 (#2 - 6 are already at Saga price levels), but that means a hit TV show and lots of fan support. Right now the reader base is so small it will take a long time to hit Saga popularity with readers.
  6. As long as it does better than Todd the Ugliest Kid, which actually dropped in price after the show launched (which I thought would happen) then all will be well. The is a show already? No, my mistake. I thought it was out since it has been over a year since announced.
  7. I think Rat Queens has a decent chance to grow in readership based on one thing.............the female comic collector/reader. I have posted about this before, but over the past 3 - 4 years the number of female collectors buying new and older (SA/BA) back issues has grown rapidly. It pays now to actually take Archies from new collections to shows of just tossing them out...........
  8. As long as it does better than Todd the Ugliest Kid, which actually dropped in price after the show launched (which I thought would happen) then all will be well. What show I thought that there was a cartoon or something for it. I picked up a few copies of #1 from LCSs when the property was licensed and dumped them when prices spiked.

  10. The first issue can still be bought on ebay for between 10 and 15 dollars. That does not speak well for the demand of this series. It's more about the fact that there's twice as many #1s out there as subsequent issues. 20K+ is more than enough for demand. 11K, not so much. And right after the post-TV announcement it could be had for $7 - $10.........
  11. I disagree re: flood and price impact. There was a relative flood a couple of weeks back when the TV was announced but it did not kill the prices during the rush. This book was not heavily speculated on and from all reports has turned out to be a good read (I can't say as I have not read it even though I have a couple of runs and my LCS added it to my file ).
  12. I did not read it, but I noticed the pricing trend and have been picking up as many extras as I can find. A couple of LCSs still have them on the shelves here.
  13. Nice. I hope this means I can unload the couple of runs I kept stashed just in case it ever got going again.
  14. Poof! There go all the ASM 265s on eBay . . . I buy them whenever I see 9.0+ copies. FWIW, I have found this one to be tough in true NM in Canadian newsstand price variant form.......
  15. Robert is a great buyer with fast payment and good communication. It is always a pleasure to deal with him. (thumbs u
  16. The simplest answer to the question is..............accumulate both ASM #194 and ASM #265 and all will be fine. The 2nd print of #265 is a cool book that has been harder to find in LCSs than I expected.
  17. ASM 265 worth picking up on the cheap? 1st or 2nd printing?
  18. Here is another Copper lot I snagged from Kijiji about a month ago - 1000+ books for $500. I have gone through two long boxes of material so far. One box is destined for the dollar bins, but the other has some decent runs like New Teen Titans #1-12, Jonah Hex #1-54, Star Wars #35 - 55, JLA #171-191, a few Whitman pre-pack only issues (Donald Duck #222 is the best of them) etc. in nice shape. Here are a few pics:
  19. That is down quite a bit from what it was selling for around a decade ago.
  20. The Harbinger run started at #5, just like X-O. There are other Valiant runs (Eternal Warrior, A&A, Bloodshot, Shadowman) from #1 up to around #10, but they were not worth taking a pic of.
  21. I picked up 4 long boxes for $200 from a garage sale this morning. Mostly 80s and 90s books, but there was a gem or two in the boxes. The best part about it was looking at the old price tags - $70 for a set of Emerald Dawn, $20 for a Turok #1, etc. It brought back memories of the insanity of the early 90s.
