  1. I feel your pain. I have a beautiful book with a stain like yours (front cover though) that's over a darker section so it's really hard to see. Came back a 6.0. Don't know if I'll ever get over it.
  2. I think they'll crush you on the stains. 3.0-3.5 as is, 3.5-4.0 with a good press and clean
  3. Looks like a contender to me. Can’t really tell but is there a little bit of spine roll?
  4. Feels like removing the added staples is the way to go then. It's a real shame, because it's a nice copy otherwise.
  5. 9.4 with upside looks super clean edit - maybe I'm even being too conservative. great book
  6. Are the original staples still there? Looks like it from the back but I can't tell.
  7. I’m in the 7.0-7.5 range, but I don’t feel confident about it at all. The spine is nicer than I’d expect, but the top edge has me concerned.
  8. Really curious what people think of this book, particularly about the magenta blob on the cover. Of course I can't be certain, but it doesn't look like it was added after the fact (there's no bleed through the cover at all) so I'm guessing that it's some sort of printing error. Do people agree that it's a printing error? If yes, how does the CGC handle this when it comes to grades? Ignored? Thanks for your thoughts - trying to learn here.
  9. Sorry, Dad joke. Australian merely because the picture is upside down.
  10. Recognizing that my performance in the recent grading contest limits the value of my opinion - a grade lower than 7.5 or greater than 8.5 for this book would really surprise me, so 8.0?
  11. Can you give a little more info on the line on the right side below the leg? Almost looks like a wrinkle, but I can't tell.
  12. Awesome book! (I love the Australian version) 1.8
  13. I'm really struggling with the 5.0 on that Wow#1. I mean, tears, creasing, staining, bad corners on the back side. Is it just that super old books are graded on a different scale?
  14. Appreciate it! I’ll probably just keep it as is - I bought it decades ago as a kid so it has an awful lot of nostalgic value. ❤️
  15. I think I agree with your father about selling raw. I think a 9.2 is possible, but based on recent sales on ebay ($160-200) I don't know that you're going to see much of an ROI once you factor in all of the grading/pressing/shipping expenses.
  16. This is (hopefully) a higher resolution shot of the front cover.
  17. It's apparent for the last ~4 pages. I tried to show how it decreased from page to page in picture 9. What confuses me though is the cover. I can't find any evidence of water damage on the inside of the front cover, but it definitely looks like there's something on the "big premiere issue" badge.
  18. Pretty sure the water damage relegates this to "beater" status, but I'm curious how much. (I'm still very much learning here) It presents pretty well from the front, but the back..... Anyway, appreciate your thoughts and input.
  19. Interesting read. Appreciate you posting the link.
