  1. Ha! Such a classic Kav-ism. A second-hand anecdote that is unbelievable on the surface but with more context is irrelevant. Love you, baby!
  2. Dig it. Thanks so much. Also - the bolded part
  3. @CGC Mike Just to clear up any confusion - TATs are NOT based on the time of submission but the current estimates instead, correct? Just trying to adjust expectations.
  4. Just so we're clear - in 10 years of having a brick and mortar store, every single collection that came in was so bad that he now doesn't even look? Because that person is lying to you.
  5. Imagine all the collections you miss by having a blanket policy of referring EVERY collection that walks in your door to another shop. Are there any dealers here who do the same? Because that's insane.
  6. as a blanket policy, that's a terrrrrrrrrible business decision.
  7. Fingerprints got a 9.8?! They've always hammered that.
  8. Whoa! Was just about to post about nom5693 Accepted an offer from him. Few days later, USPS had not updated tracking and he goes on a wild rant about how I was trying to scam him. So many red flags. Now that they're stealing pictures, blockblockblock.
  9. 1. Not to go too deep, but did you do this during previous recessions? When did you start? 2. Are they doing it strictly to resell? Or are they amassing a huge cache of ammo? I get the former. The latter is not a normal or rational thing to do. It borders on pathological - especially the bolded part.
  10. Dumb question: Are you ammo dudes expecting society to collapse and you have to use the ammo to kill people trying to take your food and shelter? Because of a recession? Another dumb question: Does ammo have a decent secondary market? Like, are you guys buying ammo just in case but also able to sell it to make a profit?
  11. Is it a staffing shortage? You know how you're able to hire more people? PAY THEM MORE.
  12. It's a pretty vicious cycle because some ding dong sees these books selling for amounts they have no business selling for and that's what informs their offers when buying collections. I've had people in their early 20s paying WAYYY too much and, selfishly, that makes me miss out on a lot. It's great for the sellers, though.
  13. I think starting salary as a grader is 39k so I can't imagine too many people moving to Sarasota Florida for that kinda money.
  14. Wow! Finally, some news to help us feel better about feeling so bad!
  15. The only reason I even sell comics is to fund PC purchases so If my sales take a big enough hit, I'll slow down on personal stuff. Otherwise - same old, same old.
  16. Like a lot of people here I had my views plummet 20-40%. To remedy, I started listing every day and started promoting (3-4%) the larger dollar books. It's been a week and a half since I started those two things and my listing views are up 41% from last month and impressions are over 100%. Sales are down 1.4%, though.
  17. Are there any examples of a "far left" corporation/conglomerate?
  18. Man, 2nd & Charles has been TERRIBLE the last few months. They even have a binder now of xerox'd comics that are higher-priced. For example, they had a random, filler issue of Excalibur for $14.95. What?
