  1. Still selling about one book a day on the Bay but it's VASTLY down from last month. Lucky to clear $200 a week. Not even getting offers on my MCS consignments.
  2. At this point, it's completely insulting and one of the most blatant money grabs I've seen from anywhere in a long time. That's like lootbox, pay-to-win style greed. Amazing.
  3. Adjusting for 2018 doesn't mean much now. I get your point but adjust from 1990s-now and comic prices have held basically steady. Moon Knight #55 was $1.75 in 1993. Adjusted for inflation, that's $3.44 today. What are new Comics? $3.99? Doesn't seem that far off. Preacher #1 was $2.95 in 1995. That's $5.49 today. If you've been buying comics in the last 30 years, they have been steady. I'm sure you can make an argument that they were too expensive then, too. But a lot of the hemming and hawing is from you guys that were buying comics for $.10-.$15 and forget that the world exists outside your nostalgia.
  4. Never found a 94 but have picked up 2 93s in the last 8 or so years. Both times have been a small town flea markets.
  5. Folding down hi-top chucks is the truth. No socks in chucks is the damn devil, though.
  6. I'm not sure what my first comic was but the first one I bought with my own money was MCP 117. This definitely isn't that copy.
  7. There's nothing wrong with it but you just have to be realistic about what kind of people you're going to be dealing with and the prices you should expect. Is your collection full of keys? Don't bulk it out on CL (unless you really need the money). Is it mainly modern filler and you're ok with getting $.33 MAX (and probably lower) per book? CL all the way, baby.
  8. When Marvel Vs Capcom 3 came out, I was so confused by the roster. Then, when the next update released, I realized it was Disney priming the pump for the character introductions before they hit the screen(s). I went hard (for me) on MODOK, Shuma Gorath, She Hulk, and a few others. At one time, I had about 12 Marvel Premiere 10s and maybe 8-9 ToS 94s. I ended up selling in 2018 when I moved because I was sick of lugging around potential specs after a cross-country move and missed out big. Same with UF4. I had 6 copies of that and 2 or 3 of the Djurdjević variant but cashed out for like, $20 and $200 respectively. I think I don't have the long-term stomach for holding because of the fear of a bust. As far as busts, I was left holding a good pile of Rebirth stuff that I should have known better about.
  9. $1 book leftovers from the thrift store. I'm a glutton for punishment and REALLY want to know what I missed.
  10. Separate from the issue at hand, this guy is REALLY disingenuous in his "market trends" videos (and probably most other things). Very few comic YouTubers are worth paying attention to. It's like they're in a constant race to the bottom with horrible YouTube Face thumbnails and super click-baity titles. At least this guy isn't YoUtUbE hYpE'd out - that's the one nice thing I can say about him.
  11. The only time I'm selling on CL is to move bulk. I'm never trying to deal with a random trying to haggle me on a key in person. Save that for Ebay.
  12. Got a text about there being a few long boxes at a thrift store that often gets comics. Whoever got there before me probably did really well but these were the left overs at $1 a pop.
  13. I bought a Secret Wars 1-12 set from the guy the week before for a good price and asked if he had anything else. He got back to me with a list of books but they were WAY overpriced, except for this.
  14. Putting peanut butter on savory sandwiches is the best. We made some really awful sounding things being stoned, working in kitchens. Peanut butter and bacon is the duh combo but almost all types of cheese (especially a good, sharp cheddar) work. Brie, PB, and salami on a croissant was the one we thought would be terrible but it's surprisingly good.
  15. I'm a MCS stan, too. Never had a problem from their end - just from flakey buyers.
  16. I've had really strong sales the last month but this week has been pretty bad.
  17. Having trouble finding a way to set my listings to auto-relist at lower prices if they don't sell in 30 days. On mobile it would ask about individual listings but is there a way to bulk it?
  18. The risks of auctions during a slump. Like @faster friends said, If I'm trying to buy it, it's at all time highs.
  19. 8. Morocco Mole 13. Secret Squirrel? 19. Yogi Bear 20. Huckleberry Hound 22. Top Cat 27. Doggy Daddy? 33. Booboo Bear 36. Magilla Gorilla? 67. I don't know this dudes name but he was in the Hair Bear Bunch I used to know alllll these fools but that information must have been replaced with something equally as worthless.
  20. It's very true - there are art prints that command a dumb amount of money. Some make sense, some don't. However, he is right in the definition of fine art. The price that a variant commands on the market doesn't make it fine art. Same for a piece of OA. None of this is to talk down to something you enjoy but there are working definitions for these terms. I think the tone might be what's getting in your crawl.
  21. It's such a problem. And the process for deaccessioning donated items is tedious and at times impossible, depending on the agreement made between the giver and institution. At the last museum I worked for, the basement storage was for large sculpture and everything else that will never see the light of day.
