  1. Congrats on your copy. Despite it's rarity this was one of the first Bakers I got on ebay. Nice solid mid-grade I won in a romance lot. When it arrived it had no backing board and the postman bent it and shoved it in my mailbox leaving a sub-crease . Got some of my money back. Still looks nice. Yours looks way better than a 6.0.
  2. Those are terrific copies in hard to get grades. The DS 25 is ridiculous to find, never mind a copy like that. The TAR 32 is exquisite.
  3. Thanks. It's hard to say why some have staining and some don't. Is it storage? The inks that were used? Both?
  4. Since this thread has reappeared, thought I'd show this: Highest graded.
  5. never got alert He also sold a ST110 CGC 8.0 w for 5k. Well below GPA. http://boards.collectors-society.com/ubbthreads.php?ubb=showflat&Number=8873070#Post8873070 Interesting, a legitimate seller too. What's FMV on this Amazing Mystery Funnies assuming it is VF+ (big assumption) the last sale I'm seeing is the billy wright 7.5 (second highest) selling in 2011 for 8k+. Ted VanLiew sold a similar copy for $10K to a boardie!!
  6. My old copy. Tried to sell it here and got crickets. I can't remember the dealer who eventually paid me nothing for this.
  7. I use to own a copy. Sold it here on the boards. Those Atlas/Seaboard and Marvel gothic romance magazines from that early 70's era are extremely tough.
  8. Everybody mentioned here is great, but Schomburg was the most exciting and over the top. His covers reached out and grabbed you by the throat. Which is a modern sensibility. That's why he transcends.
  9. Did that book even show up on the U.S. site? I don't remember seeing it. Damn! In Canada and listed on a book site. Shoot me now!
  10. Congratulations. Another toughie.
  11. Do not forget to press it first. Good idea.
  12. Very nice. The PR 5 is now tied with my copy. Maybe it's time for a re-sub.
  13. It's Canadian... oh, you already guessed.
  14. That one surprised me a bit, but the colors seemed good on an issue that is usually quite faded. Maybe some people also saw it as undergraded. It surprises me how high the prices are that HA has been getting in their Sunday auctions. The live auctions run for what? four or five hours? Seems like a huge time commitment. Most of the time I place my bids and wait until Monday morning to see if I've won anything. Me too. I throw in my bid and let everybody else fight it out live. Lose a lot that way, but I keep my money. For Chicago this week!!
  15. This went for a nice price on this week's Ha. http://comics.ha.com/itm/golden-age-1938-1955-/romance/diary-secrets-16-st-john-1953-condition-fn-/a/121533-13350.s?ic2=mybidspage-lotlinks-12202013
