  1. I've got one of these as well. It's a great Hitler cover even if it doesn't fit the time frame you're looking for. Too bad Hitler isn't found in the story though (it was a boring read).
  2. Now that's a beauty. Let us know how the grading turns out.
  3. A totally forgotten about early DC hero. A great under-appreciated book!
  4. I can't say I've seen this one before. Very cool. Is it a reprint of some sort?
  5. http://www.ebay.com/itm/Sensation-Comics-1-CGC-5-5-Golden-Age-Key-Comic-1st-Wonder-Woman-Cover-L-K-/291408166398?ssPageName=ADME:SS:SS:US:1120 Here's one discuss . . . It seems the WW key books are a bit all over the place in terms of pricing, so it's really hard to say where FMV is right now. GPA certainly doesn't have much in the way of sales of Sen1 in the past 12 months other than a 5.0 with LT-Tan pages and Tape on Cover (and a fairly large piece at that) going for $16,133. So a much nicer looking 5.5 with OW pages and a real clean FC certainly should be valued much higher than that. Also, just looking at AS8, recent 5.5 sold for $44,813 and a 5.0 sold for $28,680. The 5.0 was sold at the last Heritage auction where they listed the start time incorrectly (CST vs EST), so it was thought to have sold about $10k-$12k below market value due to the fact that the listing ended before most folks thought the auction was even going to start. If Overstreet is any help at all, it values a Sen1 at about 65% or so of a comparable AS8 given same grade. Probably a stretch, but that would place a Sen1 5.5 somewhere between $19k (if you assume the last AS8 Heritage auction is FMV, which many argue it was way too low) to about $29k. Just based on recent AS8 sales. So my clearly amateur guess for a nice looking Sen1 5.5 with OW pages is about $25k give or take. It makes me think this particular ebay listing isn't too far off-base. Now, on the other hand, the conserved Sen1 1.0 on ebay with the $45k asking price is absurd.
  6. I agree to some extent. I wouldn't call Captain Atom and Blue Beetle Tier 1 characters, but they are still somewhat relevant in the (now) DC universe. They've been reinvented multiple times, but do pop up from time to time (Captain Atom had his own book in the New 52, though don't know if he's still appearing anywhere?). They seem to have staying power and have endured the test of time. I think in the case of Space Adventures 33, it's just a hard copy for anyone to find. I doubt the book has the interest or supply to make it a mainstream "hot" book, but the difficulty in finding a copy makes it undervalued in my book and due for an upward price swing. Kind of reminds me of TTA13. Groot is more of a fringe character (though was well loved in GoTG), but simply the lack of supply on the TTA13 shot this one into the rafters. I could see something similar for SA33, though certainly not as abrupt (unless he lands in a movie somewhere )
  7. Yes, but I'm the seller on the middle one and haven't received payment yet. The auction didn't end until yesterday, so I'll give it some time. The other two were won by the same person, so hopefully they were legit. If so, 9.4 copies are definitely pushing new highs!
  8. Very cool. Does it still have the X-Wing intact? There's no way I would have been able to fight the temptation to put it together.
  9. I was very tempted to bid on that one and thought it went for a good price. Congrats! Did you give the #2 a go as well? It also looked nice.
  10. Here's my original owner Batman 121 (well, my Dad bought it on the newstands anyway):
  11. Whoa. Fantastic cover!! Now I want one
  12. Just saw a 9.4 sell for $306. Definitely moving upwards with demand as well. A little OT, but I probably have 25 or so carded original trilogy figures. I wonder if they're seeing a rise in demand as well. I don't keep track of the toy market, but might need to take a look.
  13. Holy krap, really??? My bad, I thought someone was fishing for a sucker with that price... -slym There's a 9.4 35c variant in the latest Heritage Auction, so it will be interesting to see where that lands. Currently at $9,000 ($10,755 with BP) with a couple of days to go. Looks like the December sale may be about right.
  14. Glad you're posting now. Sweet book. Love the depth of that cover!
  15. Thanks for the kudos. Most of my war books are GA (though I sure do miss my OAAW #83!). I guess these Famous Funnies are technically GA as well, but here are a couple of more from the run: This one also posted by Dr Love, but here is mine: I'm still looking for a higher grade 205 to complete the mini run.
  16. Maybe the North Koreans are really space aliens in disguise
  17. Famous Funnies #207 is a great looking book! I always liked #204 as well:
  18. Received a batch of books I bought from Alex today. All were as described and packaged well. I'd definitely buy from Alex again. Thanks!
  19. I hope that translates over to Space Adventures #33. I'd think the first appearance of Captain Atom would gain some traction, and it's a great Dikto Charlton to boot (plus a tough book to find)
