  1. I got this one back from CGC and am very happy with the grade!
  2. Nice one! Only 6 universal on the census, so definitely a tough one to grab!
  3. I would in a heartbeat given same grade and PQ. The stamped Crowley/File Copies are some of my favorites!
  4. Here's a good example of both the Crowley/File Copy and a separate Crowley copy:
  5. Neat books! I haven't collected Marvel Family, but now I'm tempted .
  6. Good call. Not really valuable book, but I can't find one anywhere. Seems like these are much easier to find now. I counted 30 of them on ebay today (obviously at various grades). It's still a great book to find in high grade, but I think the 1st appearance craze has brought more of these out of the wood-works. Another one to look at is Stars and S.T.R.I.P.E #0. First appearance Stargirl. Female first appearance characters have been red hot lately. Maybe not a tier 1 character, but this book is pretty difficult to find and has some mid/long term potential.
  7. Great looking books! Wow. I love those checking/file copies. For some reason, the stamp makes it actually more appealing to me. Congrats.
  8. I don't recall if I've posted these pre-slab or not, but I just got these two back from CGC:
  9. Not sure if this qualifies as "heating up" given that there are so few sales (scarce book with 24 census copies), but Space Adventures 33 might fit the bill. 1st appearance books are hot, and Captain Atom is a fairly recognizable character and is still very relevant in the DC universe. Only GPA data in the past 2 years is a 4.0 that sold twice for >$400. That's higher than any other recorded sale (including an 8.5 that sold for $340 back in late 2012). I'm thinking this book has room to grow a bit value wise (if you can find one).
  10. Nice pickups! Are you working on a complete Master Comics run?
  11. Makes sense. I did find what looked like a small piece of a rubber band as well. I'm thinking instead of adhesive on one of the pages, I bet it's rubber band residue. Regardless, no rubber band still might cause the GLOD. Definitely a tough one to figure out.
  12. I have one in for grading now. I'm estimating a 9.6 (outside chance of 9.8) and the mask is loose. There is a small stain that looks like adhesive that I'm assuming was used to initially attach the mask to the book (I think page 8-9? It was a page with an ad). I placed the mask inside the book on the page I think it was attached. I'll let you know when i get the grade. It should be any day now.
  13. Nice! Was the mask insert still fully attached? I've got a killer copy as well, but finding one with the mask in place is near impossible (I assume mine gets the green label with the loose mask). Congrats!
  14. I love this cover as well! I have a copy, but it's certainly not as nice as yours.
  15. Have you not watched her brilliant acting as a magical mermaid in H2O??? She can really wield her powers Just to clarify, my girls love the show (and mermaids), so I've been forced to sit through the entire series.
  16. I've got two of these now. I just love the cover (and the story wasn't so bad either!): Different scanner, so the colors don't pop on the second one. But they're similar.
  17. Now now, the 5.0 is yours no longer I'm excited to add it to my collection to go along with it's close cousin (a book that's been in my family since 1958!)
  18. I'm not a big romance collector, but high grade GA romance can easily catch my eye from time to time. I'd say if you're talking higher grade material (7.5+), then it might be worthwhile to list them. That might pull in folks that otherwise wouldn't have as much interest romance books. Lower graded material, however, might fall on deaf ears IMO.
  19. Beautiful book. That cover is an absolute classic!
  20. Have been considering Columbus. But outside of that, yes. Done till after bball season So does that mean you'll have time for a sales thread sometime soon?
  21. I watched it very closely as well, but I thought the price was pretty lofty for such a low grade book.
