  1. I'm a big EW fan but I don't see myself kicking in to get some product made. Maybe I just don't understand, but isn't Kickstarter for the guys in the basement to get their creation out to a wider world, not for an established company to give you some product?
  2. Well, I for one would vote Golden Pete as the most pep-in-his-step-triple-tap-posting-tap-dancing-returning-MIA-boardie-trying-to-make-good-on-a-botched-sale-that-led-to-a-probation-list-stint since at least 2018!
  3. Looks like I've read 19 on that list, some more than once. Not bad for a feral education. Also, Finnegan's Wake should not be on a list of best novels and anyone who says they read, and understood it, is a liar!
  4. Nice! I was there about three weeks ago and there was a comic seller set up that I hadn't seen before. He had a couple dozen long boxes of $1 books and then two longs with his "better books" and a couple of slabs. I figured I would give his better books a look through and picked out a MCP Weapon X issue for $4 and a Zatanna Special for $5. I get home and the MCP has a horizontal roller indentation across the entire front cover and the Zatanna has a large dirty smudge on the back cover. Just put these books in the dollar boxes where they belong instead of trying to hustle every last buck out of your inventory! I'll take it on the chin since I didn't take them out of the bag and check them closely, and that's on me for not taking the time to do so. But come on! I'll steer clear of him in the future. He fits right in at the Bellmore Flea! And people wonder why I stick to hunting for comics in the wild - this guy is exhibit A and not uncommon in my experience.
  5. This says August 4 https://www.midtowncomics.com/product/2024420?plid=450
  6. I did a trade to secure one of each. Read them and they were good. The backup story was good too. I’ve been picking up the entire line so far and am enjoying most of it so far. Looking forward to the next iteration of this company.
  7. The worst is when they try to start at the other end of the long box I'm going through. GET ANOTHER BOX, FELLA!
  8. As Charlie Brown said - I got a rock! Okay, okay, it was a little better than that, but not much. The best comic in his bin and a box was a Thor 337 so not a total loss. The hunt continues!
  9. Got a line on some comics, the guy is getting them out of storage for me this week. Is it a box, or two, or more? I DON'T KNOW Is it a collection, or just some random comics? I DON'T KNOW Is it old stuff, new stuff, or somewhere in between? I DON'T KNOW Is his asking price going to be in line with what he's selling? I DON'T KNOW All I DO know is that the anticipation is making me type in ALL CAPS!
  10. A couple of DC as well. Nice to get both covers at once
  11. A few turn of the century Marvel issues I found today. I usually pick up anything newsie from 2000 on
  12. Found a few comics at some garage sales recently. The highlight had to be the treasury sized Fabulous Fantastic Four 2. It was low grade but it reprints the entire FF 48-50 Galactus/Silver Surfer trilogy! Good old Stan and Jack...
  13. It looks like the Brood infected Wolverine is on a stage with spotlight on him and he's closing with some high energy song and really belting out the last line.
  14. The Alien is an homage to Uncanny 234, a terrible cover in its own right.
  15. Looking forward to this as well! I forget when I got my Primer 2 but I do recall getting the Grendel 1-3 issues from Harley Yee at a Big Apple Con back in 2005 or so. They all reside in my core collection, along with the oversized Comico trade, the 1-40 run, and a few other Grendel goodies! Plus the Mage issues, of course!
  16. I'll just say that some dealers throw fits when deals get made on the Con floor between customers, let alone pulling a guy out of a brick and mortar shop where many rely on the walk in traffic for their back issue stock.
