  1. Whats the deal here? thats a MONSTER book for a 10 feedback seller to be selling but seemingly looks legit no? (shrug)

    http://www.ebay.com/itm/330788603459?ssPageName=STRK:MEWAX:IT&_trksid=p3984.m1423.l2649#ht_500wt_1413

I guess, but I think I would try to build up more of a selling history before unleashing that book (and the AF 15) on an unsuspecting world. hm

yeah, seems odd to have 2 books like THAt with that low of feedback buying motor oil in germany hm

Im not very good at spotting scams on eBay but it seems legit doesnt it? Anyone have any idea who it is that owns the 8.0 Northland copy?

The verify CGC cert function doesnt seem to be working for me so i cant check the cert # right now.

  2. Is there a protocol for when someone tries to register a comic from your registry set to theirs? I got the email from CGC saying someone was trying to register one of my books, but without naming names or what comic here goes. It wouldn't have been so bad until I looked at their profile, and saw how huge their registry set was for a certain comic. At first glance it would seem normal, but looking at the history, the whole set, mostly 9.8 pedigrees had been gathered since Jan. of this year. I'm talking over 200 books too. Looking at the other registry sets you can see it took years to build them. Another thing that struck me as odd was the almost frantic removal and addition of issues. I guess what I'm really asking is how hard would it be to just start plucking numbers off books that you see online in auctions, for sale, or others collections, and just start adding them to your own registry? Then when the real owner wants to register it they get denied, and have to prove they really own it. Wouldn't that show up as frantic additions and removals in said persons collection? Not to mention books that have never been registered, or taking numbers from collectors with collections so big they don't even know what they have. Those would be free of scrutiny almost. Have any of you veterans dealt with such a thing before?

Someone has a registry set with over 200 Pedigrees in it?!?

I HAVE to know what set this is now!!!

  3. I want to know whose bright idea it was to give a child a name with a hyphen in the middle.

Every class, every teacher, every interview, every time he's got to tell someone on the phone his name he's got to spell it out for them...for the rest of his life.

Those are the parents that end up in state facilities for the elderly.

    What's the big deal???

I'm sure the 5,765,385th time he says "my name is j-son" and the person goes "oh , Jason?" and he says "no, J-son" and they say "huh?!? Are you freaking joking me?!? Seriously, how do you spell it???" he won't be traumatized or anything

  4. hm

perhaps we should contact houseofcomics.com, find out where he shipped "her" books, and find out if her address matches his address

No. Please, catwoman, allow me to field this one.

"I requested they be shipped to his address so the boys would get them while they visit."

    Did I do okay?

    :roflmao:

    (thumbs u

I'm still trying to figure out why he had to ship them to his own kids :makepoint:

Umm, cus his baby mama only brings then there once a month!!! :makepoint:

"She" very clearly addressed this in lie #8, try to keep up man! :baiting:

  5. Sure, Clink shares part of the blame with its huge monthly auctions, but where were the VF range buyers for this auction? TTA #12 8.0 doesn't even crack $300 or TOS #13 8.5 gets only $375?!?! Sickening prices. TTA #18 8.5 the single best top census and it makes only $600? And yes, these and more were my books and I'm not happy about it. :censored::tonofbricks::mad:

    Yikes, sorry man!

Winning the TOS 13 is almost a bummer now. There's definitely some people I'd be more than happy to see get the short end of the stick in an auction but you sure as hell ain't one of them Korvac (thumbs u

Honestly, i couldnt believe i was the last bidder. When i hit update, i really was shocked that mine was the last bid! If I'm ever selling a slab you want, let me know and I'll make it up to you (thumbs u

  6. Auction fatigue could definitely be a good part of it.

Again, i havent followed them very close but it seemed to me like there were a LOT of pre heros last night no? Its not normal to have THAT many in an auction is it?

I've always thought the covers were cool and tried to maybe grab 1 or 2 here and there but they always have gone too high for me. Last night, i was pretty shocked how low a bunch were sitting and since there were practically no Avengers on my radar was able to finally grab a few lower than what i thought they should have gone for.

  7. Yeah, i was a little surprised at the selection of pre heroes. Like i said, i dont follow them close since im usually about tapped after the A's go off from buying Avengers. lately though, there have been times i havent bought a single Avengers so i can focus on some other wants.

When i was looking at the pre hero TOS and TTA i was pretty surprised to see MULTIPLE pretty HG copies of some issues and wondered if that was normal. I dont remember seeing that very often before but again i dont follow them real close. It definitely didnt seem like a good idea to me. if i was selling a 8.0-8.5 TOS 27 or whatever, i'd be pretty annoyed that Clink also decided to have a 9.2-9.4 copy in the same freaking auction (shrug)

  8. I dont know much about pre-hero prices and havent really followed the auctions the last year or so. I've always wanted to start snagging some but was too busy with my Avengers run. Now that i'm almost done with it, i can start getting a few pre-heros here and there.

Like mysterio said, i wasnt even going to bother bidding on these last night since i figured my what i thought were lowball bids would get blown away but i won all 3 for at least in my mind REALLY low prices (shrug)

  9. :sorry:

But I only have till May 5th, 2013!!!!! After that, who knows :tonofbricks:

Is that the cutoff for registry awards?

That's when I get married :insane:

    :roflmao:

Separate bank accounts buddy. Don't give in.

I was thinking about that! lol

Let me tell you the GOLDEN RULE of collecting comics as a married man..... :gossip:

All comics and i mean ALL comics cost "like $50". I dont care if you get 1 slab in the mail or a box as big as you with 50 of them. As far as the wifey is concerned, it cost "like $50" (thumbs u

  10. Seriously though, i have a hard time figuring what to pay on some of these since there is so little gpa data. I just put in the bid i was comfortable paying with no real guidance from gpa.

    A 7.0 sold like a month ago for $210. A 7.5 sold a year ago for $372. An 8.5 sold for $282 back in 2006. Not a lot of help there ???

I paid $420 which was a decent amount lower than my max bid. granted this has c/ow pages so that might have hurt the bids but i was happy with the price. I'm not real big on following pre-heros so maybe i paid too much??? (shrug)
