  1. WOW!!!

Adam sure has been busy lately! (worship)

I was gonna post some books but i'm waiting til Adam's monsters get bumped down a few pages

Mods have been notified about Adam's books. They're sick.

Really, a freaking post that THAT deserves a strike from the mods! :preach:

No one should be allowed THAT many INSANE books in a single post!!! (tsk)

  2. Sweet! Methinks the Scarecrow story still hasn't been reprinted, although I don't follow what's going on with the Omnibuses.

Frankie - get rid of that damn Priority Mailbox! How about some staging?

I am not sure if it was ever reprinted. lol Leave my Priority Mailbox alone! I am keeping it real. lollollol Dont forget the struggle...dont forget the streets!

    Nice books Frankie :applause:

I like the Priority Mailbox, it makes your photos have a, just arrived, ripped the box open and here is my new book, look to them.

Thanks Bro! Yeah, thats about what happens when I get something to add! Rip it open and take a picture. lol This is not the Ped, thread...where you need prefect lighting...big close up scans of the comic...a glass of wine in the back round and soft music playing. lol This is collectors thread, no snobby look at what I can afford grades, or "This books was in the Joe Blow collection, its AMAZING", or the line "I had to back up the dump truck of money for this one". Hence my Priority Mailbox as a stand. lollollol This thread and my collection is OLD SCHOOL. And I like it that way. :headbang:

Is it just me, or is there definitely a custom title somewhere in this fine rant? lol

Damn! I didn't even see that post!

My freaking ears are burning reading that!

Just for the record though, I do NOT drink wine  Vodka only :gossip:

And, I do NOT listen to soft music. More likely Eminem or NWA at full blast (thumbs u

  3. hey, let me ask you, do you crack your slabs?

You seem to get a large number of raws and slabs and was wondering how you keep them organized? I cant even imagine keeping EVERY damn Marvel that you have ordered enough to keep my OCD from going crazy. Then, having to split them into slabs and raws would drive me freaking crazy! :screwy:

If you havent already, when you get a chance can you post some pics of your comic room setup? I HAVE to see what it looks like to have EVERY Marvel hm

If I buy it slabbed I leave it that way. Never cracked a book. I only have like 100 slabs. Most of its raw. Order has gone out the window a longggg time ago. If you came here and saw them...you would have a break down. lol I dont even have the 100 CGC books in order. Finding stuff has become a nightmare. You can open a box and see new books next to silver age stuff, and bronze stuff. I used to be big into keeping everything in order. My collection has gotten to big for the space I have...and trying to put it in order has become a nightmare. Last time I attemped to put it in order...I did A B and C...8 hours later...my back was broken....then I just started to put stuff into boxes to make full ones....Making it even worst. One day I will fix it. Maybe. lol(shrug)

DUDE?!?!? Do you have any idea the OCD nightmares i'm gonna have on your behalf tonight after hearing THAT?!? lol

I was sick as a dog 2 weeks ago and had like 3 slabs come in and it was driving me freaking nuts knowing they were sitting on the floor of my comic room for 3 days and not filed away properly :screwy:

I'm making a NJ roadtrip and getting that room in alphabetical order for you! (thumbs u

  5. Hado...that's literally the only flaw on the book and it looks worse than it is because of the way it was pinched, if that makes any sense.

A 9.9 can still have a flaw, and of course that is why 10s exist.

My 9.9 of issue 1 has a similar tick.

I have other 9.9s that have similar TINY flaws.

I think the deal is this...it can only be ONE and it must be minute.

That would be my best GUESS of course. I'm learning here.

    *paging Beachbum!*

I sent in some streetfighter books in, they had thick chromium covers, all appeared perfect, I sent in three. All came back 9.8, I may have to get the notes to see what they found.

I wouldnt waste your money, most likely there arent any notes.

I sent in an Iron Fist 14 a while ago that i really thought had 9.9-10.0 potential. Out of all 4,000 raws i have and 700 slabs, i'd say its EASILY the nicest book i have ever owned. Came back a 9.8w and called for the notes in the good ole days when they were free to see what kept it from going higher but there was nothing whatsoever in the notes (shrug)

  6. Anyone can name the bet and I'll take it! That book WILL be sold (thumbs u

Not if one of the big guns own the book and need it to top out their collection.

If Brulato or TempusFugitivus or Schmell (or similar) own it there is a good chance it won't be sold.

Just happened to be perusing this thread and came across this and chuckled a tad!

    You were saying Roy???

Who would have known just a few short months ago one of the SA Titans would be shortly bowing out. 1 down, 2 to go. I don't know much about either of the remaining two titans other than The little I've read about them online but neither strike me as people that would sell their collection. I have had the chance to meet and speak with Schmell on more than a couple occasions and wouldn't have thought he would either so who knows. As amazing as this last HA auction was, better start saving your pennies again kiddies cus sometime in the near future shoccollection their mind boggling collection could be coming to market! hm

  7. Thanks for the well-wishes Speedmaster!

I know this might turn out to be a colossal waste of money, but I'm not sure if there is a better way to find perfect copies of these books. (shrug)

I guess either way this will be a learning experience for me.

Wading through 1,000+ books is going to take me a looong time but I will keep you guys updated.

...anyone care to make an offer on my rejects? :P

Yes, if you pay me $500, :takeit:

    :baiting:

  8. Yeah, colors do look a little off but at least the scans are crystal clear. Just play around with the color a little and hopefully you can get them right. I have the opposite problem. My colors come out pretty good but no matter how much I play with it, I just can't get my scans anywhere near as clear as yours there. I've messed with it for hours and hours and hours and for the life of me, I just can't get them anywhere near as clear as how yours came out :frustrated:

Got my Pacific Coast, a 9.8 for my 1-66 run and Neal Adams 1st Marvel work.

    Freaking AMAZING dude!!! (worship)

Just an unreal copy of a great cover and at a GREAT price! Congrats man, that is an incredible pickup (thumbs u

I know those XMen mean a hell of a lot to you and you aren't just picking them up to flip but because you really love them so I'm definitely happy as hell for you that you were able to snag it! No offense to the dealers, obviously they gotta make a living and do us a great service picking up books for us to buy but it makes me especially happy to see collectors who love them snagging keeper copies they want! :cloud9:

Should kept that 49 though buddy! :baiting:

    lol

  10. :roflmao:

You are a funny dude Jimbo!!!

A few months back I bought this INSANELY nice frame in the comicconnect auction that belonged to Nic Cage. I've been trying to decide what to put in it and I think I definitely know now what's going in it! (thumbs u

  11. I'm still riding the high of winning them today. Tomorrow ill try to figure out a way to pay for them! :o

Did you win the lottery or something? gorgeous books...

    I wish!

MUCH more likely there's a BIG sales thread in my near future!

  12. I'm still riding the high of winning them today. Tomorrow ill try to figure out a way to pay for them! :o

    ap57.jpg

Jason, do you have any idea what Doug paid for this copy back in the day ? I do, it was the first 9.8 to surface. How much did you pick it up for BTW ?

Congrats on some killer books :applause:

Yeah, he paid almost exactly triple what I paid today back in 2009 :o

Further proof that you should NEVER break the bank for a single highest graded SA Marvel! There's almost always going to be another 9.6-9.8 that comes to light. In this case, a BUNCH including another 9.8 Pedigree copy.
