  1. My house was also affected by the lighning and it fried my receiver. No TV or anything in my home theater.

    :(

Those lightning storms we had last Thursday and Friday night were INSANE!!! I've never seen anything like that, i was actually almost a little scared Thursday night. Oddly enough, my house didnt get hit during either of those wicked night storms. it got hit at like 5pm before the storm really started by just a random bolt i guess (shrug)

The worst part was it fried the wiring in most of my house so not only did a bunch of appliances and electronics get fried but now im having most of the dang house rewired! :censored: It sure was a fun weekend with no AC and 95 degree temps! :frustrated:

  2. Most of my house got friend by lightning last week so i dont have tv in the house and was bored as hell all weekend. So, i finally got ALL my comic stuff in order and got all my books out of the bathrooms, comic boxes and god knows where else they were and got them all organized. Once the 4th is over and i get rid of all the fireworks taking up half the room, i can finally get it all finished.

so far though, the bookshelves and slabs are all in order and its almost looking like a comic room! :cloud9:

  3. I moved both my display cases next to each other. Just a little re-org in the comic room

These cases are awesome! Too bad the nearest Ikea is over an hour away from me, and I doubt the box would fit in my car. I thought about buying a couple over their website, but Ikea charges more to ship these than they are charging for the display case itself. Maybe I'll rent a pick-up truck one day and pick up 2 or 3.

You can buy them on eBa for $159 shipped for free. You can't beat that deal. These suckers weigh 90 lbs!

These are just awesome. I really need to get one of these so I can load them up with goodness. :cloud9:

They are pretty awesome! My only complaints are that the shelves arent adjustable and its just a tad too narrow so you cant fit 2 slabs on 1 shelf unless you put them at angles. Other than that, its AWESOME!

I got mine a few weeks ago and have been loading it up. I cant put it where it needs to be though until after the 4th of July since i have cases and cases and cases and cases of fireworks at that end of the room behind where it is now

  4. Yikes! :o

I think HOS is definitely WAAAAAY out of line, PL would be the proper course if any.

It definitely sucks what happened to you and should be made right, however that might be now 5 years later. i would like to say though that i've bought a few times from Supa in the time i've been here and have never had any trouble whatsoever. I dont really know him and wouldn't say that we are friends so i have no reason to vouch for him other than he definitely seemed standup to me and did everything he was supposed to in the deals i made with him. Communication was perfect and books were sent immediately after payment.

Agaiun, it definitely sucks that this happened and im dont understand why it did but it seems like he has had no problems at all in the last 5 years so even the PL at this point seems kinda harsh imo (shrug)

  5. Yep, and I believe the intent of probation lists are for a) buyers who don't pay on time or b) sellers who don't ship books after being paid.

I agree. No money was sent. Qualitycomix should be more on the ball and send out invoice PMs but does not belong on the Probation list.

I have had a few transactions with Brent and have absolutely no hesitation to purchase from him.

I don't understand this reasoning at all? Under this logic, the only possible way to get on the PL would be for sellers who didn't send books after they were paid for. Anyone could throw up the :takeit: in a sales thread and not pay and then have the "what??? No money was sent!" defense (shrug)

  6. lol

Totally true. Just look at the boards here. How many AF15's go up to sale a year? Probably close to 100. I can't remember the last time there was a Hulk1 for sale. There's may e a handful a year that go up here on the boards.

Actually, probably more like 50 AF15's a year but still its gotta be 10 times as many as Hulk1's that come up for sale.

  7. Edit: pre-mature posting...

I think they have pills that can help that now (thumbs u

Not that i know! Thats what ive heard

When your as old as I am,you need to take a pill for everything. :preach:

yeah, unfortunately i'm getting there faster than id like! :sorry:

  8. Page 100

We've got a ways to go to beat the AF15 club, but we have momentum on our side. :applause:

I've always thought Hulk 1 should be closer to AF15 than it is. Not that Hulk will ever be as or more popular than Spidey but this is DEFINITELY much harder to find. I've seen hundreds of AF15's in person. Even at the crappo little mall shows they used to have down here in the early-mid 90's, like every single dealer would have multiple AF15's. Almost never would there be a Hulk1 :(

  9. If there are a 10-20 worth slabbing I will give them a shot. Still have a few Western Penn's FF's that look pretty nice and I think will be worth grading just so I can tuck away for the long-term. Worthless BA junk yes but this is the junk I grew up with. :cloud9:

I'm with ya! I might be the only person on the planet desperately hoping to find pedigree copies of Avengers 200-230 because thats the drek i grew up loving :screwy:

  10. Got this done on-site at WW Philly. Thanks to Joe, CGC (for taking it when they were really busy) and all my fellow boardies who were around to see the final result:

    Damn!! Congrats man! (worship)

That looks almost exactly like my copy. Same grade, same PQ and same dings at the top and bottom of the spine! If I didn't know you and know better, I would almost think you were lifting my scan! Looks almost identical :o

  11. I was looking at mine and just guessed lol

Sad that I actually knew that off the top of my head but I just bought mine and was measuring beforehand because I wanted to make sure my big Great Ultron statue would fit on top of it. I didnt want it to be too close to the ceiling so I had to look up the dimensions on it before I went and bought it.

  12. Damn!!!

A double cover price variant?!? That cannot be common! Congrats! :applause:

I don't know where the heck you guys find these damn double covers??? I have at least 3000 or so raws and not a single double cover as far as I know :sorry: I do have a few hundred 90's books that I never even opened or checked and just went right into bag/board and then boxed but other than those, I know none of the rest have a double cover. Seems like all the rest of you guys have them fallin out of the sky into your collections ???
