Not exactly a valuable or sought after issue but damn do i LOVE this freaking book! Two BIG (thumbs u to bio-rupp for hooking me up with this gem from my childhood. This came out when i was 9 1/2 years old and would go to the store with my Dad and he would buy me comics. Avengers was without question my favorite title and i would count down the days until the new issue would hit the stands and we could go and buy it. Books like this are why i LOVE comics and still collect them to this day

The upper left corner is pretty worn but I have to agree with you that that is a wicked looking 6.5! That looks nicer than the few 7.0 slabs I have. If you don't mind me asking, where'd you get it?

Yeah, not the greatest centering but REAL nice colors unlike 99% of the 57's you see. Of course, only someone with as amazing a run as you could be not thrilled with that copy! I'd say let me know when you upgrade but even that 9.6 is probably out of my league. I'll probably have to stick with my 9.2 with no real hope for an upgrade.

Buscema knew how to deliver killed covers. One of his many SA classics that have to rank up there with the all-time best. +1 An alltime classic Silver Age cover not to mention the 1st appearance of without question the most under rated superhero of all time!!!

Same here! I remember seeing his actual 9.6 before but when i saw that 9.8 GRR scan, i was like "HOLY mess!!!!" and thought he upgraded! Hey, if me and you team up, we could maybe have a run 1/50th as good as cheetahs instead of us each having 1/100th right now! Something to consider

I have been there right with you Pete The magic number on that book was $7500...no freakin way Steve Whats up Steve? Where you been? I expected to see you post half the TC books after the Heritage auction. The books i wanted were smaller books, mostly BA 1st issues i wanted for my project like Arrgh, Beware, Fear, Gunhawks and such. Literally, 3 months in a row, i was the ONLY bidder on most of them and didnt hit reserve. Then i get an email the next day with an "offer" thats basically double or more GPA. I'm like, "Ummmm, 4 months in a row NO ONE but me bid on this book and he wants DOUBLE gpa?!?". I think the sellers might be over estimating demand just a tad (thumbs u I gave up this month and didnt even bother bidding and again none of them hit reserve. Exactly how many months can you leave a book at auction without hitting reserve before you rethink your number???

I would say at least half of the books in the Pedigree auction ended with no bids or not meeting reserve. I'm too lazy to go through all the pages, but I'd be curious of what percent actually sold. I just went thru it. 324 of 595 books didnt sell. 54.4% didnt hit reserve or no bids because the starting bid was so damn high. I know ive argued about this with Doug and can somewhat understand his "this isnt Comiclink where books sell for pennies on the dollar" argument but it just doesnt seem like a good business model to me when you allow reserves to be set so freaking high that over 54% of the books dont sell

That ridiculous imo. Yeah, a buyer can ask whatever they want but when the reserve is THAT high, just put the freaking thing on Clinks marketplace with whatever crazy number you want instead of wasting everyones time

I'm glad i saved myself the aggravation and didnt bid this time! When a book doesnt hit reserve 4 months in a row, isnt it time to lower the reserve??? I dont think i could handle another round of emails offering me the books for double GPA after not hitting reserve.
