  1. Very nice looking books. +1 Those 3 are pretty much next up on my list although i'm cringing at how much scratch i'm going to have to drop to get them
  2. Cheater! GRR's dont count! Those both are nice though! I'm still trying to figure out how that 1 is a 5.0 From those pics it almost looks comparable to the 9.6
  3. Your's has a little less of a miswrap but other than that, they look REAL similar. I think they are long lost brothers Oh, and Liam, the Avengers Annual 10 was a Rocky Mountain Pedigree (thumbs u
  4. Cool, my dad lives there half the year so I'm over there all the time during the winter. Are there any LCS's worth visiting over there?
  5. mark1 and I are in Broward county. Tortoise's parents are in Palm beach gardens. Where in Florida are you?
  6. With all my excitement over the 93, i forgot about this beauty in its own right that came in the mail today. Bought from our very own board legend supapimp Can anyone tell that i'm now hopelessly addicted to buying Pedigree's(especially Avengers Pedigrees!)
  7. Great book, Jason. Neal Adams, Picture Frame, Twin Cities, 9.6, white pages. It doesn't get much better than that. Thank you! Praise from YOU on an Avengers book is extra special It's funny. I was just looking at your Avengers registry gallery and your 93 is remarkably similar! It's a 9.6w, it's a Pedigree, it has almost an identical miswrap and it also looks almost flawless except for the upper left corner. Our 93's could practically be twins
  8. Ok, i promise i'm only going to post this in like 50 more threads A personal grail for me as a lifetime Avengers fanatic
  9. You've been here 2 1/2 years and you're still surprised that most of us are retarded and our minds are in the gutter?!? That is a SWEET rack though! (hopefully, you're a guy or i'll be getting a 1 week vacation under the new rules )
  10. That 33 does have SICK colors! Looks WAYYYYYY nicer than a 8.0
  11. yeah, posting a pic of a box of tissues on your desk next to your computer brings up some disturbing mental images
  12. The collection of Harry Banks, who posts on the Boards as Burntboy. He started buying comics off the rack in 1956 up through 1964. A few of his books turned into top census copies, and the rest have really nice cover inks and paper preservation. His collection included most all of the early SA DC and Marvel keys, many in nice shape. Here's a link to the initial sale of many of Harry's Marvels (less many of the keys): http://www.tvcomics.com/Sids.html Thanks (thumbs u
  13. Hmmm, i think it's a little farther than that but not too bad. WPB airport is about 45 miles from us and i think PBG is about double that so maybe 90-100 miles. Not bad though, i'd make that drive to meet up (thumbs u What the heck is the "sids luncheonette collection" though??? I've never heard of that one before i dont think
  14. That's nice! Congrats I've been looking for a nice copy for a few months now so that's a sweet pickup!
  15. NICE!!! It's too bad you live in Arizona. At the rate you buy books, if you lived in florida, we could hang out and have quite the bro-mance! You're definitely a buyer after my own heart!
  16. Very cool. I'm doing this with my stepson - his real dad doesn't do much with him and he's really gotten into comics. Thanks to Silent-Master for my little guys' first CGC 9.8 too!! Now he's got that bug...ugggg...more money to spend!! Tell me about it! 1st off, my son is the ULTIMATE HG snob! He's always been a perfectionist with everything so any book he gets he wants to be practically flawless. No matter how many times i try to explain to him that a book(especially SA) doesnt have to be a 9.8, he still wants book as HG as possible. 2nd, he has EXPENSIVE taste! When we go thru the Clink auctions together, he somehow always thinks the most expensive books are "cool". It's always a 9.6 FF 25, a 9.6 TTA 93 or some other crazy expensive book! He'll point out a book that he wants me to get him that i know will end up at like 5k and i'll be like "Ummmm, NO WAY DUDE!!! Pick again!"
  17. Thanks all! It is awesome that he's old enough now and into them so we can share collecting. I haven't had a friend that collected since like grade school and my friends now and wife have about a 30 second attention span if I dare try to talk comics with them. Darren though will talk all day about them. He LOVES collecting and talking comics! This EXACT scenario takes place about 4 times a week in my house. My 9 year old daughter Ashley will walk by and hear Darren and I talking about comic books.... Ashley- "losers!" Darren- "shut up Ashley! Daddy's the comic book king not a loser! Right daddy?" Me- "right!" Ashley- "losers!!!" Darren- "shut up Ashley! Daddy has a x-men1! YOU don't have a x-men1 so shut up! Ashley- "Oh my god!" and rolls her eyes and walks away It's pretty funny!
  18. This is my soon to be 7 year old sons room. I know its a horrible pic but the way the lighting is in his room, this was the best i could do. He basically picks out moderns that he thinks have cool covers and i put them into showcase sealers(i think thats what they were called) that i used to hang books on my wall with 20 years ago. I also usually let him pick out 1 CGC book from each Comiclink auction that he thinks looks cool and isnt too expensive.
  19. Thanks! ALL of them are already in my registry I do NOT sell Avengers unless i've upgraded. It may take 10 years but i will finish that damn run in 9.2+ or die trying
  20. Sweet finds as always greggy Finally got in my Clink wins fro the last auction today
  21. No, i see your point but look at it from a dealers perspective. The books that did get a bump saw a HUGE price increase mostly. The books that didnt get a bump sold for pretty dang close to the original price. The Avengers 10 i got went for $43 less than he paid, thats only about a 2% loss. The ASM 10 that did get bumped went from a $7700 book to a $18,000 book. The reward definitely seems worth the risk from a dealers point of view based on that sampling.
