  1. i would buy a palette of GL 87s if they could be found affordably. otoh, Iron Man 55 showed that a $30-40 G/VG copy one day could become a $150 ebay copy overnight, so maybe there's a lot of money to be made buying the best $50-$60 copies of this book you can find because they might be $200-$250 copies later. http://www.ebay.com/itm/Green-Lantern-87-CGC-9-6-1st-John-Stewart-/141219340278?pt=US_Comic_Books&hash=item20e1541ff6 At that price you have to wonder how much upside there is in slabbed HG though? (This market, however, never ceases to amaze me though, so I should probably shaddup.) I've been waiting for Green Lantern #87 to pop every since Dwayne Johnson and Denzel Washington were rumored casting choices for John Stewart in the upcoming Warner Justice League movies.
  2. Not necessarily: http://boards.collectors-society.com/ubbthreads.php?ubb=showflat&Number=7900889&fpart=1
  3. I just checked my eBay inbox because his username sounded familiar, and sure enough I had messages from him giving me lowball offers on a TMNT #1 3rd print raw signed by Eastman and Laird I had for sale earlier this year.
  4. Well at least the movie has it's own rap song now like the old ones did:
  5. That Action #1 wrap you used you have Mike was awesome as well.
  6. I am a little scared having it travel back and forth across the country, but it shouldn't be too much longer until I get it back. And yes I am getting Stan to sign the splash page right beside Jack, I would never deface that cover with writing!
  7. Thanks Claudio, I actually sent that Cap #3 to SDCC this week to get signed by Stan too, but since he cancelled at the lat minute it won't be signed by him until next month.
  8. Picked up this copy last week, best presenting 5.0 I own:
  9. I think they will have legs, because Action #7/#10 and TEC #29/#31 still came out before Supes and Bats #1, and I'm sure there are many others like me who find that more relevant and desirable than the later first issue books that are not even first appearances.
  10. I'm with Wayne-Tec here, I'm also in my early 30's and I consider Cap #1 a more relevant and desired book over Marvel #1. I respect the history and rarity of Marvel #1, but it's a much more important book to the "old guard" than the younger generation of collectors getting into GA now.
  11. The higher the prices, the more they come out of the woodwork it seems.
  12. Was this purchased from an auction, or just a find in the wild?
  13. Totally, now I just need a #74 and I'll have the three best covers of the run.
  14. Picked up a #27 here on the boards last week, now my #3 has a buddy:
  15. Great books! I have my OO copy of Sword of Azrael, but really want to pick up a Starslayer #2! Thanks fellas, even though Silver is my main focus now, I still like to pick up books that I wanted during my first collecting stint in the early 90's if I see them pop up at a good price.
  16. I know this doesn't count, but it's probably as close as I'll get
  17. The last page of the coverless Tec #33 I used to have: The back cover of Cap #3:
