Page quality has in my opinion is very important and would disqualify my purchase if not up to acceptable levels..I agree

harder grading does not equate to the actual grade, one could interpret this as the "other company" is not a jammed up and took more time to look at the books.....and is more accurate. They are both close, however a blanket policy of "under grading" just to be tough on a competitior makes us the loser.....if we use CGC, it will be interesting to see how this plays out, since the competitor is a former CGC employee with a great and respected reputation.

Agree with you Gene, people must be very careful especially when the big bucks are on the table, as anything goes....the amount of $, just look at the new HA auction and how many 10K and up pieces of art are there...what is real, and what is not.....the FF48 cover needs to be vetted by the boards and if it is a "fake" then buyers beware and some forum or list needs to be drawn up of EXISTING fakes to help and protect buyers.

the signing is the key....to deceive, I am wondering if someone on the boards has contact with the artist and could get some straight answers or possible does he have a website?? we need to know.....

well the real owner of the cover could come forward on the boards.........which leads me to this conclusion..there could be many more fakes out there....who did, and who sold it......

But why should you overpay because he wants more comic books.......and if you decide to sell it later...well your recovery of your investment or purchase price is going to be not as much as you paid so chuck can get to 11 million comic books.

The price increases are not sustainable in any type of business model. So, a word of caution when paying 20X times guide. Overstreet, was in the early days, the GUIDE..it has changed as Steve Geppi needs to do a complete revision of this product in order for it to become relevant again. When it was all and powerful, it in effect "slowed price increases down" and was an effective brake for the comic book market on over heating. It no longer has that power, as print media disappears, its survive or die...it must go online in the next 5 years.I recomment on this weeks SCOOP-4-16 the 53 minute steve geppi address to retailers this month....I learned a heck of a lot during that speech. At the height Diamond had over 7,000 accounts, today they are down to 3,000 and to get a idea of the state of the market coming up...read between lines on that speech, 2016 was great year, and 2017 was OK(4th best in terms of $ not accounting for inflation). The main Idea, expressed is dead right on...Time or the competition for your free time has never been so competitive with so many different choices, and how comic books have survived thru the 50's witch hunt, market crashes, etc is remarkable. Barry is and was a early true comic book collector. I visited his special comic room...stack and stacks, the man of 1000 conan #1's were they went nobody knows....But I will say if you have ordered those supermans, he would of sent them, he was legit.....and knew the value of the comic books, his life cut short by a car accident....he would be a major force if he was alive today..God rest his soul....one that cannot be replaced like, Bruce Hamilton a true innovator , Russ Cochran(who is still with us) who raised comic book original to ART, Carl Barks...who loved the fans from the heart...I can go on, its the people that made that time......remember we were the few...who stood you against society who laughed at us...well today, we know who got the last laugh.....
