  1. Here's a comic line that gets no love. Dell Tarzans. Some high grade issues. Painted covers end at issue 79 from 1956. Photo covers go to issue 110 from 1959. The painted covers start up again with 111 up to issue 131 (end of Dell line) and continue under Gold key. First 12 cent issue is the final Dell at issue 131 although Dell used 15 cent prior to that for about 10 issues. Anyway, here are the issues I have in thumbnail form. A large pic of one of the nicer ones, great blue background. Then there's the Charlton #1 which only went 4 issues. All technically Silver Age right? I think Dell and Gold Key were exempt from the CCA stamp.
  2. Here's a common one but nice in grade.
  3. Two Champions, the #6 wasn't nearly as nice as these two.
  4. Here's a couple more of the nicer ones. Two more Apes
  5. Pretty psyched in finding an OO collection in Baltimore: 1975-1978 about 250 Marvels and 300 DC's. When I ask him how many boxes are in the collection he told me that they all stacked on a book case. I imagine the worst as I come up to them. The house is basically trashed and he is moving out. As I climb over the all over the floor, I am pleased to see them on the bookcase in the back corner where they have likely been sitting for 35 years. Nearly all are stored in the old Robert Bell bags (The ones with his info label on the top tab) with a layer of dust over every top stacked book. I take one or two out to check condition and these books are untouched unread. The cover pops from the front page. Then I start seeing the variants and really not a single variant possibility is the 25 cent kind - hello Baltimore. So there are about 30+ variants all in pretty high grade. There were two total Xmen books - 94 + 100 with the 100 a variant. So that was nice. Most of the titles were the oddball like Son of Satan, Marvel Presents, Human Fly, Planet of the Apes etc. Same with the DC's. There's every issue of the Batman Family but 5 total Batmans and Detectives. Other key issues were All Star 58 (got bent from bad storage) Spotlight 32, Star Wars 1, Iron Fist 1, Neal Adams Giants etc. Pages aren't snowy white and quite a few are cream to OW at the edge due to the bags not being folded over. Covers are glossy and sharp as can be, a little stacking curvature here and there as well. So really a fun lot to go through. I'll post a couple more in a bit.
  6. Single highest copy and by a good margin! Very nice! You never know what's out there..... lurking.
  7. Great deal from Greggy. Thank you.
  8. No doubt but could you discern which nephew was in which place! I don't think any of them ever appeared without the other two (GA and SA anyway)
  9. My guess is that Huey Dewey and Louie would be tied for second third and fourth to Donald Duck.
  10. You just have to find the right seller. http://boards.collectors-society.com/ubbthreads.php?ubb=showflat&Main=214037&Number=4575624#Post4575624
  11. Tarzans first GK is a good cover too.
  12. Here are a few Tarzan's I liked.
  13. Great to deal with; glad the infamous greggy bought from me. Ed
  14. Great find - be proud you are bringing these out to the buying public. No WDCS #1 I suppose? Rather strange since he had a subscription. Great books. Ed
  15. Nearly all those Large Features are impossible to find in nice shape. I think the Lost Valley collection had a few nice ones; I recall the Duck Tracy issue being in 8.0 or higher. Ed
  16. I didn't know Logans Run 6 was a 35 variant. That one has to be ridiculous price wise. Ed
  17. I enjoy his composition and willingness to push the subject matter boundaries. His line work is a little weak and his characters have little depth. That's my judgemental editorial. Still, much better than average Fiction Houses cover art, those are many a classic cover.
  18. I don't mean trying to find pieces to marry. I meant the tag "I can trade an interior Batman 20 for an Interior Batman 18." kind of thing. Ed
  19. I still need Archie 1 interior New York Worlds Fair 1940 interior Captain America 61 front cover (or full comic with missing pages or back cover problems. I have Namora 3 interior missing cover and outer wraps (basically it has a centerfold) Marvel Mystery 87 interior missing cover and outer wraps (basically it has a centerfold) Low grade Action 103 missing a centerfold As an aside, my opinion on trying to trade for specific parts and pieces is likely impossible. I guess it could happen but the odds would have to be just incredibly small.
  20. I wonder what the most valuable 3/2 Pack still sealed is. Assume every book is a 9.4? I'd guess Scrooge 179, that Batman 181 or I think I've seen a Tec 359 & 189 before. Did an Xmen 94 make it into a pack and stay in one? Iron Man 1 or any of the other 1968 first appearances? I'm on the side of not opening packs for posterity, but I know that's a debate of judgement. Quite a few of the Marvel ones from the 60's were opened at the dawn of CGC
  21. I think all these are tough in high grade and with this being recognized as a 1st app for a top 10 Batman villain it has taken on a huge status. I think there's a 9.2 out there that sold in the $1000's. Nice pick up on the Hakes auction, I threw in a low bid hoping it would hit, but no luck. Ed
