Stories of the one that got away...
BitterOldMan replied to Robot Man's topic in Golden Age Comic Books
A couple years ago, I was looking for a low grade copy of Superman 11. At Wizard Chicago, a real gentleman and his wonderful wife had a reader copy that fit my budget. I was hosting my friend’s kids, so I passed so I could show the kids around. After I walked through the entire show, I came back and the Superman 11 was gone. The kind gentleman was @catrick339! I snoozed and I lost. ☹️ Finally, I got a copy of Superman 11 from Terry O at several times the price of the Wizard Chicago copy. -

If you are trying to obtain a badge in advance via their early sale, odds are one in 16 or a 6% chance, which is pretty tough. Even the parking must be purchased in advance. Hotel room rates get doubled or tripled during that week. Last attended in 2019, and spent over $2k just on the hotel room and tickets that I got through a vendor friend. My friend asked me whether I wanted to attend this year and I could crash in his room. I replied No Thanks! I had attended for 25 straight years.

PS Artbooks is producing a facsimile edition of Suspense 3 coming out late next April. I visit my LCS at least once a week to heard the latest comic news. I have some of their Phantom Lady copies and a complete set of original Phantom Lady comics. The copies are on slicker paper and an obvious copy.

This Week In Your Plastic Crack, Action Figures and Toy Collection
BitterOldMan replied to Buzzetta's topic in Comics General
I put AA batteries in mine, but made sure the batteries could not move around. The price dropped to $94.99 on GameStop. The shooting mechanism is okay, but not great for safety reasons. I thought I was getting this. There are four 40mm grenade launchers on the table. -

Just saw the Terrifier 2 movie out for Halloween, not for the squeamish. You can’t kill Art the Clown. Reminded me of this book cover. -
