  1. After 40 years of collecting picture frames, I'm going for some nice ones now. You'll never be tempted to upgrade with books like that. Same with books you posted here back in August.
  2. Wow. Killer books, Bob. You've been snagging some great stuff lately.
  3. I've been trying to keep the thread active but it's been harder and harder for me to fill the holes in the run (and post the new arrivals). I started searching for the squarebound PFs in 2007. And all of them in 2008. Five years later, I'm wondering how many more years it'll take to complete the run in 9.0+. I've got a feeling it could be another 5 years or more before I find all 388 in 9.0 or better. The challenge definitely makes it a lot of fun. But I wish some nice Millies, Wyatt Earps, and My Loves would surface before I hit retirement age.
  4. This thread has been fading a bit lately. The Spidey is an upgrade. The MTA #6 is the best copy I could find after a few years of searching. Still looking though...
  5. Wow awesome set of books Frank. Are they your keepers? These are (thumbs u Great books, Frank! Lots of beauties there.
  6. Or "Never judge a book by two dimensional scans which don't always reveal non-color breaking defects that can easily lower the grade of a book." I think I read that in Bartlett's Quotations.
  7. I think so. It's cool to see how Kane's work evolved over the years. In that case... Wow. I've never seen that cover before. So cool.
  8. Thanks, Steve! I probably spent more on grading fees and shipping than they're actually worth. But hey, it's cool to have the run slabbed. (Unfortunately, the #2 & 3 didn't pass the pre-screen. The #1 was a 9.4 and I sold it a ways back when I found a 9.6.)
  9. New addition, or left over from MutantKeys: The Early Years? Great book, either way.
  10. I think so. It's cool to see how Kane's work evolved over the years.
  11. Yup. Bob Storms and I drove out to Showcase NE when Dan got the collection. I bought 91 books that day. I would have bought far more, but a few guys had been through the books already.
  12. Cool book, Bob. I don't know if you know the history of the collection that book came from. Dave Kapelka told me that collection came from two brothers. At first, the brothers shared the collection. Eventually, they decided not to share anymore and one of the brothers marked his books with that black line in the lower left corner. If you do know the story, forgive the rerun.
  13. I've seen Stan's signatures in some pretty lousy places. I think he nailed this one. I had a rather small signing window for that particular spot Nicely done!

  15. Great books, Danny. You're not messing around. You've been gobbling up books so fast that you'll get the hiccups.
