  1. My VERY FIRST Fantastic Four (in italian, of course)!
  2. Thanks! In fact, raw beginnings are a bit earlier. The Alan Moore Captain Marvel already shows a pretty much mature trait, esepecially the final issues (written by Davis himself, with Jamie Delano) which immediately preceed the story in New Mutants Annual #2.
  3. Hey, don’t you like my super-sweet Daredevils?
  4. My recent purchase has been a full run of the Daredevils (#1-11) in beautiful condition. Very tough to get in high grade, I seem to get, as those UK magazines are as much delicate as regular comic books. Each one contains original material (Alan Moore/Alan Davis' Captain Britain) and the Miller Daredevil stories in B&W.
  5. That was more or less what I used to tell my father when I started collecting italian 1930s-1960s (pricey) Disney comics when I was fourteen. I had to buy them when he did not see, problem was that I did not have a car to go to conventions, so I had to take my chances when they presented themselves… And also, I did not have a weekly allowance Luckily my grandmother was always there to supply cash when I needed it, and she understood pretty well how much I loved comics… (thumbs u
  6. It’s already been a while, but now I have a beautiful Daredevils collection (#1-11) in VFNM condition, thanks to a UK seller. Al have original Captain Britain material and Miller Daredevil stories in B&W – the cover of #11 is already one of my favorites cover EVER, and it is monochromatic (white), as most of the more striking covers are…
  7. Really sweet, just a thing: the original Captain Britain stories (prior to the costume change and the Moore storylines) were ever reprinted in a TPB or printed in the USA? Now Liam should find me a nicely priced #8…
  8. In this case, a pair of pieces of archival tape would have been better. I understand it’s delicate, but it’s precisely for that reason: tape is worse.
  9. The Kinks, in "The Village Green Preservation Society" state that they are "preserving the old ways from being abused" and "protecting the new ways for me and for you", so I thought the song would have fit in that…
  10. My choice would be Mattel’s Thingmaker. It was an awesomeness which 1960s kids could have enjoyed in full, but I was lucky and my father found an old set in a toy store here in Italy. I was very disappointed when the Plastigoop finished and I learned it wasn’t to be found anywhere…
  11. This one is your cup of tea, Matt: http://www.ebay.it/itm/ALBI-SUPER-EROI-N-3-CON-ADESIVI-CORNO-OTTIMO-/260876156503?pt=Fumetti_Occidentali&hash=item3cbd6e3e57
  12. Another example: A Daredevil #50 with both (Stickers & poster). This is an auction: http://www.ebay.it/itm/DEVIL-CORNO-MARVEL-50-MANIFESTO-POSTER-ADESIVO-Q-EDICOLA-NO-UOMO-RAGNO-/271229343398?pt=Fumetti_Occidentali&hash=item3f268756a6 (BTW, I have the spare poster for this).
  13. There is at least one: a Blue Label, high grade LaPrensa FF#1, which sold for good money at either Comicconnect or Metropolis. I recall I saw the article (with picture) last year. In some cases, a decent number of copies. In other cases (especially for certain issues, and also when there were both stickers & poster) they are very tough. They usually go for no less than about 50 Euro (the cheapest). Here’s an eBay listing for a FQ#1 with both stickers and posters. Book is worse than mine but has the stickers (or so it says): http://www.ebay.it/itm/FANTASTICI-QUATTRO-1-CORNO-1971-con-gadget-POSTER-Manifesto-ADESIVI-/200931881395?pt=Fumetti_Occidentali&hash=item2ec87931b3
  14. I guess the Shamen’s "Adam Strange" may have a little to do with the character as well… Sorry for the interference…
  15. It just occurred to me there is a 1968 Kinks song titled "Johnny Thunder". Do you know if it is dedicated to the character (I did not check the lyrics)?
  16. That. And the other explanation does not make sense: Corno was the publisher in Italy, La Prensa was the publisher in Germany, and so on.
  17. Maybe he just removed it from eBay because he sold it elsewhere.
  18. In such a low grade it really won’t matter. Besides, it‘s "invisible" tape, which is a lot easier to remove, and I do think it’s also bound to do less damage when the glue dries off.
  19. And the poster… (not my copy, mine has tape staining as I "repaired" it time ago…)
  20. BTW, sticker positioning should be like this (not my copy):
  21. And while we are at it, my italian #1 – I’m still undecided whether I should sell it… I have the poster but not the original sticker which also came with it.
  22. I have no CGC comics, Liam, but I would advocate for that.
