  1. Ugh. Looks pre-existing to me. Which, imo, would NOT qualify for the grade it got. Looks like there was a little SCS damage though.
  2. I forgot about that one...it doesn't come around that often and I'm always loving Wrightson books
  3. I expected the prison as the break-in to next year. Michonne was an unexpected bonus. The characters lost this episode were throw-away anyway. Love the new, sharper Rick...will play well as next year progresses.
  4. Ghosts title is redundant story-wise...how many Charlton titles have Ghosts in it
  5. Dominguez has hit or miss covers, but I personally like most of it. After seeing some of his art in some of the Gold Key issues I much prefer his cover art to his story art. A few of my favs:
  6. Anyone want to buy him and his friends a steak dinner? Maybe a $90 scanner should be invested in first.
  7. Nice Charltons in thread...never knew about those titles.
  8. I just broke my cherry with Shark with our first transaction together...paid promptly for a large number of slabs and was easy to deal with. Two thumbs up (thumbs u (thumbs u
  9. Personally, I prefer the Kaluta covers from this time period but I have to admit that's a very nice book. (thumbs u This one IMMEDIATELY grabbed me because of the dramatic pose and rich red colors on this cover when it was on the stands. Kubert's diversity across genres continues to amaze me to this day.
  10. Nice!! I don't do SS at much at all, but I do have a Weird War Tales #93 CGC 9.8 signed by Kubert (1st appearance of Creature Commandos)...
  11. Happily looking for early Ghostly Tales...namely 12 and 15 centers...
  12. Nice!! I'll have to scan some of my big C books this weekend.
  13. Most 10.0 are given to Moderns, and the well they use doesn't usually cause this issue. From what I recall, it's the wells they use for older books that have this problem. Steve Borock talked about it here briefly, but was the lesser of all evils since using the Modern wells on the older books would've caused a RIP at the staples instead of simple corner damage. Does anyone remember the thread where a member actually shook the out of slabs and reported results? Entertaining indeed.
  14. Scanner is half the problem---I use VueScan which is awesome and works with most scanners....you can adjust quality, space to scan on bed, etc. Lifelong license--bought it years ago and still get any/all software updates. Tell them Sterling sent 'ya. I use HP ScanJet 8200. I hear Microteks are better, but I've already spent my money. I have scans on my VCC booth (see sig) if you want to see examples.
  15. Awesome books! Yeah, shame I have to let them go.
  16. Yeah, happens all the time. I never take the bait if someone's pulling that number.
  17. I LOVE late Silver/early Bronze Charltons! I wish there were more certified...I'd snag me some!
