    PayPal, Zelle, cash/check/money orders accepted

Shipping is a flat $6 for unlimited raw books or $15 for any number of slabbed books or combination of both in the Continental US ONLY

    Now, on to the books:

Rather common in art. Meaningless to an original art-collector. Those who collect OCA are generally far less fussy than Comic Collectors. With One-of-kind Items the paradigms of stuff like condition is nearly always overlooked.

On the rare occasion I've have art signed, I always say please do not add a date.

My wild guess on the #21 cover is $60K-$80K

    Quarter million.

    Yep, lot's a 'dem ease up :D

Made a post like this in another thread as well, and it's just one old guys opinion and not worth the electrons it takes to write them on the screen, but personally I think there are two factors supporting comic prices right now, and when they are gone watch out below.  I think dealers are selling to themselves in auctions as they have always done, and the majority of current auction buyers are likely specs and not collectors, many of whom are gambling with money they can't afford to lose.  Unfortunately, when folks like that start to need to sell in a downward price environment . . . again . . . watch out below.  Might be years before the panic hits, but this old guy sees a major collapse coming.  Maybe even already starting.  Just to be clear, I'm not wishing this to happen just offering one old guys words of caution to anyone laying out serious coin right now.  Personally, I'm building cash, only buying things I never plan on selling, and making a list of what I'd like to buy if prices do actually take a serious downturn in '22 or '23.  Of course, I've been wrong about lots of stuff in my day (just ask my wife - she'll tell you that for sure) so maybe I'll be wrong about this.

It might be years, but it’ll be right eventually.

Well said! The people pushing the prices up are not the same people who will actually want to own those comics in years to come, they are speculators and hopefully will have moved onto other investments. The die hards who love the comics for what they are, comics, will still have them and/or will continue to trade them with other genuine collectors. Maybe I'm naive. But I'm a comics guy not a money guy. Always will be.

Then I have to ask, what are you doing in this thread.

Hey Dan...I know it's early, but do you know if Marc is going to go back to the "old" room next year or will he keep it in this one?   Is it up to him or the Convention Center (availability)?

I know when I saw you, we talked briefly about the room/space.  I like this room better than the one it's been in the past 5-10 years.

I was hoping the lighting would be better in the hall this year, but it was the same as the other room.  One guy thought for some reason I was photographing his book for sale when I had out my flashlight app on the phone to look at spine creasing, but a quick explanation took care of that.

I think it's been long overdue for a thread name change. Are prices still plummeting or have we reached the bottom yet.

How about "I look at this data and continue to :spoon: myself when I realize the sales value of my collection is 12x-15x more that what it was a mere couple of years ago."

  7. Word to the wise:  the Sunday of the Con is a Ravens game, and its the Bengals, so you are talking about alot of fans of both teams making a weekend of it.  If you are going to book a room, do it sooner than later.  I just go Friday, but Saturday will certainly get some extra folks due to the home game weekend; same with restaurants and all of the other harbor stuff.

What other sources can you pull consistent data from?

Well, to add to the list, these boards...based on the number of "wow I guess I should not have sold my perfect 9.8 copy [insert years] ago because its so hot now" posts, there is some consistent data setting forth the importance some boardies see in making sure other boardies know what comic books they used to own. :whatev:

If it means a Bear Market eventually, as collector then yes I'm all for that as well!  I do realize that a Bear Market won't affect true keys and blue chip type books. It would mean no more Marvel random 1st appearance hot book de jour  due to TV tie-in or other random minutiae.

Sadly though it would likely mean (or rather hasten) the demise of more comics shops.  As speculators exiting a hobby never leave a hobby in better shape than before they jumped in. Which was the 1990's reference in my last posting.

Thats a lot of speculation on your part, and I can't make a connection between random 1st appearance books being sold at inflated prices and comic book shops going out of business, as comic book shops are staying in business selling new releases as the majority of their income, but again, I am okay with all of that.

If you havent spent the last 2-3 years (or 8-10 years) chasing down the good stuff to stash away, at this point, I wouldnt start.  And if anyone wants to start, I'll be the first to sell those books to them.

Still though you may have hit the nail on the head :) The hobby has become a speculative joke courtesy of the Social Media crowd.   Speculation in Comics has not been good as those of use who lived through the 1990's know. Sure a few do profit, but most in the end lose.

So what?  I can live with those results, I'd imagine a bunch of folks on here could do so as well.

Looking for an opinion. I'm wanting to pick up an asm 252. I tried once before and got a bum deal(had to return it) and never got around to picking up again. I see the price has gone up a couple of hundred since then. Should I get one now or give it some time? I figure when the black suit gets mentioned/introduced in the MCU, it's gonna go up even more and don't want to have to pay a fortune

You are already paying a fortune, compared to 18 months ago.  Do you want to pay less of a fortune or more of a fortune?

watching my own gpa market values, things have been holding and/or dropping slightly but surely for 4-6 weeks now...down 2-5% on my admittedly small sample size # of slabs but still roughly doubled from start of this year

If you really want to feel good about life, do a 5/10/15 year price paid vs. current GPA values comparison on your collection. Then factor in books that if you sold it, you’d never get another shot to buy it back, and sit back and enjoy it.
