  1. Sadly, Rudy passed away not very long ago..... but like you said, "Long live Rudy Palais!"
  2. Enter the strange world of Iger Shop Canadian Pre-Code Horror from Superior....
  3. Maybe yet another one-shot posting will help ease whatever is ailing poor ol' Pov?
  4. Oh and BTW, I have offered up a batch of 18 Lev Gleason Daredevil issues in the marketplace for those that might want to trade away some PCH.
  5. I know, I know! What can I do, though? Sometimes... life happens!
  6. Wow, Pov! Hope you are feeling ok now! I am up to #4 with the HORROR COMICS REVIEW fanzine. Check out my site with the link in my sig. Methinks #5 will be on hiatus until after the baby gets here!
  7. Didn't POV pick up one of these at SD CON? Someone go wake up the Gimp! I think he did. Guy is a sucker for one-shots.
  8. Here's a great one-shot! Maybe this will bring Pov out of the woodwork?
  9. Here's a real beater.. I've always wondered why the Comic Media "hosts" all had alliterated names except for "Freddie Demon"??
  10. Dang! This really cuts it! Not only was I already sad about Aparo, but I just found out scripter JOHN ALBANO died May 23 of this year! Now, all three of the creators of this classic are gone...
  11. Yeah. Death always gets ya with a tricky "diagonal" set-up! Don't even get me started on Battleship.....
  12. Horrific #1 Featuring the little known ballet troup which Jerry Garcia's mom used to dance for, THE GRACEFUL DEAD!
  13. You said it! I would stare at that last panel for minutes at a time & just think to myself, "Wow! I can't believe his mom & Dad did that to him!" Probably doesn't have the same impact if you read it for the first time as an adult, but man what an impression when you're young! Still, this baby stands the test of time.....
  14. I miss him already. When I was a kid, the panel where the MD is scrubbing up for the procedure really disturbed me because I thought the suds were the kid's gray matter for the longest time!
  15. In case you haven't read it in the general section by now, the great artist Jim Aparo has passed away. I posted this there, but I may as well here, too. This is probably my second or third favorite horror comic story. Read as a kid; had dramatic impact on me. From Hom 201. Classic. Sterling may post the whole story later. Dang, just a sad, sad day for comicdom.....
  16. Never play chess with Death.... or checkers, or Tic Tac Toe, or even Connect Four.
  17. OK, so 25 slabbed Eerie #1's as of now, plus Fuelie's makes 26, plus sounds like one at SD wasn't slabbed.... there's 27. Was the other one slabbed? We'd be up to 28 already accounted for in a matter of 1 day just on this board. Any on ebay right now? Think if we can identify 101 copies that Overstreet will drop their designation? What I really want to know is why did Overstreet decide after all these years to finally designate this book as "scarce"? Why did it take so long ya think?
  18. One book I always like to mention is Avon's EERIE #1 from 1947. Overstreet just started listing it as scarce a couple years ago. (why so long, & why the change of heart I wonder? ) Anyway, Scarce is supposed to be 20 - 100 exist. My update on this one is that if you check the latest CGC census alone, 25 books have been slabbed! Hard for me to believe that out of a high end 100 books, 25% are already slabbed. What say you all?
  19. You know, Keith, I think purple is my favorite precode horror background color. It's a sweetie! I think it's my favorite background color period. There are alot of cool purple covers. It's funny that you guys mention this, because as I was scanning these HT's I was thinking, "I don't believe anyone uses purple as well as Ajax/Farrel seems to."
