  1. Lazy Sundays are counterproductive to snagging the piece you want.
  2. Josh gets 5 NotSoNice Thumbs Up (thumbs u (thumbs u (thumbs u (thumbs u (thumbs u * *That's a positive review for those in doubt
  3. I'm not sure I understand what's going on with the price of this piece. Its an attractive page with Jesse and Herr Starr, from a relatively early issue and has good content. Given all the discussion on this thread, you'd have thought this would go for $2.5K, instead of just $1K. Anyone else feel the same? I guess I am just out of touch. 3 others (JJ, JJJ, and ArtistLost) all think it was a bargain at the $999 price.
  4. I thought that PREACHER 24 Page 07 was going to end up in an eBay re-listing cycle at $999. Guess I was wrong
  5. Welcome To The Boards. I purchased a CRUSADES page from you many years ago (still have it ). And I remember vividly asking about a DPS from the series, only to find out ONE of the pages had been sold
  6. I was lucky to add three new names to my OA collection (and PREACHER sketchbook) this past weekend at the Phoenix ComiCon: ARSEFACE by Ed Piskor TULIP by Tony Parker TULIP by Chrissie Zullo
  7. Every artist is different. Some sell all of their OA, some sell none of their OA, and some sell select pieces. I haven't seen the pages in question, but if they were that good that you were/are seeking them out chances are someone else was as well. They just happened to get there before your. Or Declan liked them so much he decided to keep them. You can write to the person that runs the website you're talking about and ask if they have been sold already. If you're lucky they just didn't get listed yet and you may get first crack. Good luck (thumbs u
  8. ROUTE 666 And THE PATH were the only CrossGen comics I read. Both had stellar art. This is a great page, even if CrossGen isn't mentioned all of the time on the boards. Go after what you like. I do and my CAF shows it. I'd say half of my CAF is from artists only represented in my CAF (no collecting competition )
  9. Are you saving hi-res scans of all of these for future use? You really should. A kickstarter would be a hit for a collection of these. How many of these have you done so far?
  10. He hasn't used any copyrighted characters (that I can recall). I'd think these images would fall under the 'parody' category. Mike (not a lawyer)
  11. When is Matt going to do a kickstarter to collect all of these into a nice coffee table book?
  12. I would say: 1) the grittier art, more detailed art 2) those early moments and character introductions were memorable; especially so in a hobby driven by nostalgia 3) the story was still good. Preacher began it's downward spiral after issue 24. I never finished reading the series because it became uninteresting and meandering. Sure, there were some moments, Starr's devolution into a 6 foot was occasionally cute; Mr. Work-the-Meat-nazi was really odd; Some people thought the zoophilia character was quirky. So, yeah, the standard reasons. Some of the best relationship moments are in the last 1/4 of the story. Ain't nobody ain't got time for 66 issues and a few mini series er
  13. This week in my OA collection I got a new scanner Time to get nice new scans and update the pieces in my CAF . A mixture of and The first piece posted with my new scanner is this GOOD OLD Title page from PREACHER
  14. I didn't think the reserve would be met. I have no grasp on this market or YTLM as of late. I didn't think the reserve was going to be met, either. When I saw the price drop from $700+ to $600 I really didn't think it was going to pop. I sure hope one bid retraction per auction is not going to be the new trend
  15. I only know of 2 complete issues (outside of my collection). I asked about these a few years back. Since I haven't seen any pages from them I am going to assume they are still complete.
  16. This PREACHER 45 Page 4 closing at over $1000 certainly surprised me
  17. Buy the set and sell the inks to re-coupe a portion of the money spent?
  18. I am sure it is for some but not for me. I have no interest in paying for a name. I'm pretty sure you'd buy a picture of a potted plant if it was published in a preacher story.... Just sayin' And I'm the same way with things I like. Sure, and I wouldn't care who drew it

  20. No other PREACHER pages in my collection I'm not sure I understand the question :make point: My first OA purchase was a PREACHER page and it's been downhill ever since. As for a side by side comparison of the last two title pages that have been auctioned? The issue 10 page is the better of the two, in my opinion, for the reasons I stated above. I should have went stronger on the page, but backed off at the last minute. I'll be interested to see this surface on CAF. It's a hypothetical question. IF you had no PREACHER examples, and you were given a choice of these two, which would you pick? I'm not asking which one you think is "better" necessarily, but which one would you rather have? If you picked the second page, you are going to be in a tiny minority (of one:P). Anyway, I think your bids on each page reveal your heart's true desire. For me, the second page is the better of the two I like the "art" of it. The tone and mood of the page is more appealing to me than the humor of the other page. My CAF is a testament (when I have everything active) to the fact that I don't mind being the only fan of certain artists or series My bids are more an indicator of available funds at the time than my hearts desire

  22. I wasn't surprised to see this page go higher. Some of the pluses on this page as I see them: - There aren't any images of Jesse on the page but his presence can certainly be felt. - Title page from early on in the series and from one of the best arcs of the series - The other title page was more comedic, and some people like that aspect. But this page encapsulates everything that was horrible about Angelville. The buyer got a nice page, but it wasn't me
