  1. Didn't you just submit one to the Lowry for contention? Late pickup? I thought I had my top 5 picked out, but I made an executive last minute decision to change it.
  2. In past years we could make comments on Lowry pieces, but I don't see that option now. Am I missing it?
  3. Got two posted so far. A COMMISSION from Gary Martin PREACHER 53 Page 23 - A PREACHER page, who's surprised?
  4. 41 minutes in and not a word about DKR. This podcast is a let down
  5. Because people keep buying from them and putting up with their B.S. Sure, they have a lot of art people want (and a lot people don't want unless it's dressed up in some fake pretense). Until collectors resist patronizing them unless they run the art through a REPUTABLE auction house they will continue with business as usual and we'll have a thread devoted to them every six weeks.
  6. Finally had a chance to go through the 2016 purchases. no PREACHER entries this year
  7. All PMs responded to. I'm happy to see Dean's art getting the attention it deserves. I've been a huge fan of his for years. Such a fan that I purchased an entire issue of LUCIFER from him before the book came out or seeing a single page.
  8. As of now Dean is holding on to his BLACK HAMMER artwork. He did sell a cover, but he got a VERY strong offer for it. He has also trade some art with Jeff Lemire. So, barring any further strong offers, he intends to hold onto this art for the foreseeable future. Mike www.NSNart.com
  9. I'm always interested in reading about OA, even if it veers off into "investment" talk. Will you be bumping this thread when you post a new article?
  10. Fixed that for you Pretty strong result for that page, IMO. Maybe Starr is getting the respect he deserves (dare I say demands ). Not predictions on the CLink auction results, but I do predict a page a week on eBay like the good old days. This time around the starting prices aren't going to be $79.95, however, but $799.50
  11. How are us smalltown hicks supposed to live vicariously through you big city foke? Surely someone had a new fangled telemaphone with an electronic camera
  12. Another smooth VCC transaction. Speedy, secure, safely shipped stuff, seriously See you at the next VCC
  13. What's a PREACHER page going to cost you? About $125 more this month than last. PREACHER 52 Page 12 sold on CLink for $475 now listed on eBay with a bid for $600
  14. I'd much rather be told by an artist they are too busy and maintain my respect for him/her than have them accept the commission and then turn on the excuses. And I think every OA fan feels the same way. Their is no shame in being too busy to take on a commission.
  15. As others may have said, ComicArtCommissions doesn't rep anyone. But don't they have a Feedback system to leave comments about your commission experience with a certain artist?
  16. My latest commisison from Marco Guaglione. This time HARLEY QUINN Marco is running a commission special until the end of October. He's one of the few artists that i can recommend without hesitation.
  17. Marco Guaglione (www.mgcurves.com) is running a commission sale. $80 SHIPPED, from Italy. I've done several commissions with Marco and never had a problem.
  18. Exactly. Even the "true BHC" lurks on the various message boards. And if someone puts out a "I'm paying $1 meelion dollars for any page drawn by artist XXXXX" the BHC may reconsider their collection. Nobody is offering a hundred million trillion bazillion dollars for comic art to shake it lose. This isn't 3rd grade. If someone turns down 5X, 10X FMV(real, legit offers) for a page, consider it gone, for the time being, in a black hole.
  19. "revolving door collector" "ADHD collector" "Short attention span syndrome collector" "If I can double it then Imma flip it collector" Heheh...top two are mine. I have another one: Renter. So yeah, I should clarify that I don't mean flipper. Not the same, because not buying for profit. Just flakey and can't hold onto anything. There's another. "Destroyer Of All Comic Art Markets". That's when a guy decides he's got to have a bunch of pieces by a certain artist and bids up everything at auction and makes a bunch of wildly high offers for his work in private collections over the course of time, and moves the needle upwards for prices across the board only to decide that he's bored and dumps everything at a loss, taking that artist's market down with his level of interest. Ah yes...DOACAM may have been the first. I pity those collectors who are looking to buy from artists whose markets get pointlessly inflated by the Destroyer... Grail today, Sale tomorrow
