  1. Another one of his hobbies was collecting and posting animated gifs (seems like hundreds at a time, but maybe only dozens) that could cause seizures. The mods were not amused. Quite the character, your pops... very sorry for your loss.
  2. Posted today on the Elfquest Facebook page (surprising Wendy Pini herself).
  3. Looking at the comicspriceguide checklist, there's a puzzler with no provided cover scan. It says there's a variant of #25 with the issue number on the cover. Anyone have one, know anything about it or have a scan/photo of it?
  4. If you go through with this sale, be sure to check the slab for tampering- could be a #36 was inserted in what used to actually be a #8 slab...
  5. Jealous of your #1! Mine looks nice but has a detached centerfold. Affordable on the plus side.
  6. For the true connoisseur... a #36 in a #8 slab (currently on eBay- not mine).
  7. Sinner Takes All #3, although someone put a BIN of $4.99 on one recently to skew the results. Pity the fool.
  8. ... and about 3 years later, a couple from college illustration class. BTW I'm way out of practice nowadays
  9. Here's another from a few days later (pretty sure drawn from a '70s KISS card)
  10. Not "the dump" much, but as a teen, dad used to drive me and maybe a cousin or fellow collecting friend out on excursions in the country looking for old farm dumps (they were usually around creeks). We were beer can collectors looking for old flat top and cone top cans. We'd bring loads of them home, clean them up with the outside water faucet, then dip them in a bath of oxalic acid in the garage. A completely rusted can would come out of the acid bath revealing it's label.
  11. 15 cent variant (not noted on label). Happy with the eye appeal for the grade.
  12. I took inventory of my Magnus collection (in progress), and arrived at the same exact question. GCD (Comics.org) is no help because they don't show some of the known Whitmans.
  13. I've been watching his videos where he's at the storage unit going through boxes and at one point he said he had around $10K into it. At that point he estimated the hoard's worth at $100-150K. A very low estimate... sickening!
  14. My friend's parents have an antique shop, and she does their social media advertising. So when she advertised this on Facebook, I told her to mark it sold. Just picked it up...
  15. Pretty crazy result for a raw (1981)... Look at this on eBaySavage Sword of Conan #60 (1974) Earl Norem Cover NM- His #74 did real well too as well as some Bronze Age issues.
