  1. A legit CGC 9.8 blue label (of which there are only 14) would probably bring $3000-3500 IMO. -J. I actually remember having a 9.8 in my watch list for months, then one day it was gone. It had 2k on it or best offer haha. Slightly regretting not jumping on that one. I asked my facilitator to hit up Joe Quinones for a cover remake.............got shot down in flames on that one. You cant blame a guy for trying though righ? I remember that one too. It was over a year ago and was the last CGC 9.8 on ebay. But there was no "best offer" on it. It was a flat $2k, take it or leave it. It got up to over 100 watchers and then was gone one day. -J.
  2. A legit CGC 9.8 blue label (of which there are only 14) would probably bring $3000-3500 IMO. -J. You just want me to list mine don't you!?!? I wouldn't. Maybe if you start seeing a flurry of 9.8's suddenly starting to hit the census you could consider it then. I think the fact that almost all of the ones we are seeing are either raw with multiple visible spine ticks or slabbed 9.6 and below suggest that it may end up being one of those moderns that's tough in a 9.8. There's a reason why none of the 14 have shown up on the market even with the prices going crazy. -J.
  3. I don't know enough to speculate on price but it does look like it has been Costanzed. It is absolutely impossible to determine whether or not any of those "defects" were caused by pressing. 7.5's don't come around for auction very often and the last 8.0 that was on comic connect a few months ago (also rumored to have been pressed) set a new GPA high anyway. I suspect this one will do quite well especially with the Marvel movie buzz swirling around now. -J.

  5. Im thinking there are gonna be some crazy sniper bids on that one. I still think if its a 9.6 which one went for 1500 a week or 2 ago. So upwards of that maybe 1600-1700 $1913. Which is probably about the FMV of a CGC 9.6 copy. -J.
  6. I'm going to go with a definite over $65k. (thumbs u -J.
  7. Hey Joe would you mind also dropping by the copper section for a second where they're also having equally stomach-churning "debates" (actually, they may be worse) about the "first appearances" of Oracle and the hulk buster suit ? -J.
  8. That *might* apply to Eddie Brock/Venom, but definitely not Bucky, where the whole point of the Winter Soldier character was the reveal that "Hey everybody, this is actually Bucky!". -J.
  9. Hey, I've been hyping Power-man 24 as an "undiscovered gem" for a while now. And WTF is all this "Origin of XXX" BS? It's the first appearance of Black Goliath, no question, yet CGC seems to want to give "Origin" to any older books with pre-existing hero (or even normal) characters. With Modern ones, it's always "First Appearance of XXX" (to let comic shops/member firms hype the readily-available books) like the idiotic "First Appearance of Winter Soldier" (ummmm, Bucky's been around for decades). Winter soldier is the same as bucky in the exact same way Him is the same as warlock. FF #66 then is the first appearance of warlock. huh? He's trying to say they are completely different characters. Like the 1st appearance of Carol Danvers isn't the same as the 1st appearance of Ms. Marvel. Like the 1st appearance of Jim Rhodes isn't the same as the 1st appearance of War Machine. Like the 1st appearance of Hank Pym isn't the 1st appearance of Ant-Man ;^) Uh....but Bucky *is* the "Winter Soldier". Ditto to every other respective example you gave. An already existing character donning a "new" or another secret identity, does not make that a "new character". Or maybe I'm just the crazy one here. -J.
  10. Jus got the grade on this one, thanks to Matt Nelson and CGC 7.0 cream to off white pages Nice. That's a pricey book you have there. -J.
  11. Fake sale, and will not be recorded by GPA. -J.
  12. Well a 5.5 did just go for $1030.... -J.
  13. This book must be heating up again. A bunch of WTB requests and this incomplete "reader" just went for $2250... http://www.ebay.com/itm/SHOWCASE-4-1956-1st-Silver-Age-FLASH-Low-Grade-Reading-Copy-/311324070969?pt=LH_DefaultDomain_0&hash=item487c5c5439&nma=true&si=RgD8672UacyTR%252Bjk7ERwAehdhLc%253D&orig_cvip=true&rt=nc&_trksid=p2047675.l2557 -J.
  14. I would say at least $4K. (thumbs u RMA's points are well taken but I do believe that this is (or is on its way) to being the CA equivalent of the star wars 1 price variant and with the movie on a way (and perhaps a series of them) I don't think $4-5k is out of the question for a new to market 9.8 copy of one of these. (thumbs u -J.
  15. Your right there looks like a few color breaks on the spine, and those corners look a bit iffy PGX grading.... I suspect it will go for about what the last raw copy went for. -J.
  16. Why oh why did you have to post that, I'm getting that itch again. So after selling a kidney what other organs don't we need? Something else to add to that sweet sig line of yours ? -J. haha, ugh probably still gotta add my Double cover New Mutants 98 to it. Bam! And there it is. A little bit of something for everybody, with some really tough modern variants. (thumbs u -J.
  17. Normally I would say yes. But even ebay auctions have the book closing in the $1350-$1400 range. -J.
  18. CBCS books actually usually sell at a discount. And the gap seems to be widening. -J.
  19. Barely broke $1400 on comiclink: http://www.comiclink.com/auctions/item.asp?back=%2FAuctions%2Fsearch%2Easp%3Fwhere%3Dauctions%26title%3DBatman%2Badventures%2B%26x%3D%2D15%26y%3D%2D386%26ItemType%3DCB%23Item%5F1047789&id=1047789 -J.
