  1. -1. Gwen Stacy is not a new character. This costume is new. And apart from some playful ribbing regarding her footwear, I guess you missed the last half dozen or so posts where everyone complained about the fact that she is NOT wearing the costume on the announced cover. -J.
  2. I went on a mini rant, when I did not have all of the facts. Nothing wrong with Marvel asking him for it, or even him shopping it to them. Either way, its a nice piece, and yes I think wearing a costume would have been much cooler. Agreed. Especially since that's 99% of this incarnation of the character's appeal. -J. What does that say for the long term appeal and success of the character? -J.
  3. Book ended at $6777. Wow. I wonder how much of that price is attributable to the small doodle that they included with the book. -J.

  5. Good lord man, where are you getting this information from? Or are you just completely making things up to artificially pump this book even further for some reason? -J.
  6. You could probably pick almost any nondescript modern out of a hat and wonder why there aren't more copies in 9.8 on the census. That might just be about the worst basis there is to overpay a large amount of money for a generic modern book. -J.
  7. Congrats on the snag ! Snikt needs to update the club list again. ! -J.
  8. It is marginal but with that much missing cover and the combination of other flaws it probably is properly graded as a 0.5. But it might be the best 0.5 you'll ever see. Wouldn't surprise me to see this copy set a GPA high for the grade. (The one currently on ebay.) On another note, is it just me or do there seem to be a relative dearth of AF 15's on the market these days? The conventional wisdom is usually "you can find an AF 15 in pretty much any grade any day of the week". Hasn't seem to have been the case for the last few months or so. -J.
  9. Ahhhh marriage. Congrats on the pick up! You got a nice deal. (thumbs u Only one left on ebay now.... -J.
  10. Could be the 9.8 SS somebody immediately popped when the seller lowered the price.... ? http://www.ebay.com/itm/Wolverine-1-CGC-9-8-SS-Campbell-dead-pool-variant-/271723387086?pt=US_Comic_Books&hash=item3f43f9d8ce -J.
  11. It is gonna hold it's current value. She's here to stay. I know I am in the minority. I also own ZERO copies, so I think my opinion is unbiased, Take it for what you will. I have no dogs in this fight,. I hope it crashes, honestly, so I can buy one at a price i'm comfortable with. I just don't see it happening. Patience Grasshoppa. You will have your chance. This time won't be different. (thumbs u -J.
  12. I'm not sure I have ever heard of something like that actually making a difference in value. -J.
  13. Nice book congrats again ! Wtf where's QC at CGC with the mis-cut label? -J.
  14. Actually, it went for 20% less than a 6.5 ow/w that sold last year. I believe the difference in prices realized is indeed due to the chipping and missing corner piece on the copy just sold. While the CGC-assigned numerical grade is an important factor in determining a key's value, so to is how nice the comic looks. I am inclined to agree with this. It's still a helluva good price for that though. Only $6500 less than the 5.5 below it, also on comic link? Wow. I think that would have realized more in a straight auction. -J.
  15. It went 10 % less than the last 6.5 from a year and a half ago. And $4k less than a 6.0 that just sold on comic connect. I can't imagine the chipping was that big of a factor... -J.
  16. Somebody got a hell of a deal on this one: http://www.comiclink.com/itemdetail.asp?back=%2Fsearch%2Easp%3Fwhere%3Dsell%26title%3Damazing%2Bfantasy%2B15%26x%3D1%26y%3D6%26ItemType%3DCB&id=1010991 -J.
  17. 22-25k which means if this auction pops 30k this book is still hot as fire. Final price: $32,166 What was the prior close? I forgot. Guess the gamble paid off well for the seller. It went for $30k the first time around in the prior botched auction. -J.
  18. That is a beautiful 3.0 with great edges. I assume it had color touch that had to be scraped off to garner a blue label with those weird scratches but wow what a pretty book. How's the back? If there are no big pieces missing I think you have the prettiest 3.0 out there. I just saw the note of tape on interior cover. Probably would have graded much higher under the old rules. It depends on what defect the tape is attempting to correct and the overall grade of the book. (thumbs u -J.
  19. I wonder if the seller will at least be able to match the $30k the first time it was auctioned.... http://www.comicconnect.com/bookDetail.php?id=580276 -J.
