  1. Ike has always had a belief that toys of female characters don't sell unless they're Barbie-like things. And as a result, limits the production since he was a toy guy before buying Marvel back in the day. And maybe 20-30 years ago, that may have been true. Not so sure it is today with the slight influx of girl comic fans.
  2. You gave me an idea here. 1/2 up front at the strip club for a lap dance, and the other half upon satisfaction? How do you think that will go over? I've only been to a handful of clubs, but I've never paid up front for a dance. Always when I was done. Was just about to say something similar. About 1/2 of the clubs I've been in, they charge up-front for the dance. The other half, you pay at the end of your song(s). I've been in too many strip clubs.
  3. It's coming back in both comic & video game format. Apparently Joe Mad has been Kickstarter-ing it for a little while now.
  4. I still expect that JJ Season 2 ends up as a mostly-team-up season with Luke & Danny, and that at the end of it, Alias Investigations changes its name to Heroes for Hire & season "3" of JJ, as well as season 2 of both IF & LC end up merged into a HfH series. It makes the most sense.
  5. Good thing I picked up my other copies of this a while ago.
  6. Probably a lot of nothing going on since the All New Marvel & Rebirth launches are in the past now. Probably gotta wait until the next round of new Image launches or the Marvel NOW thing for the next wave of big hot books.
  7. Couple more things that I found today. On top of finding the last piece of the armor for that Jetfire transformer. Some 80's or early 90's TMNT figures. I don't remember when I got them. And I don't recall when I came across the Magneto & I'm definitely not sure who that green guy was. I think it was like Silverhawks or something?
  8. That really sucks. I was hoping to see DD 3 next year. The fact that they're only having an 8 episode Defenders season 1 & skipping over most of the other series next seasons isn't very comforting. Sure, they could merge JJ, LK & IF into a Hero for Hire series to make things run more smoothly but pushing DD & Punisher back is really disappointing. They were never "pushed back". They never had release info at all. Remember, there was never initially a plan for there to even BE a Season 2 of anything until after Defenders. Defenders, Luke Cage & Iron Fist were all pushed back to get DD S2 out because of the demand. It was only supposed to be 4 13-episode seasons & then Defenders. Somewhere between 58-60 hours of content was the initial contract. That whole plan got shot to heck once demand for a 2nd season of DD happened. But from its inception & Netflix ordering the series, Punisher was never going to be released before Defenders. He might have been IN Defenders, but his solo series was never happening before Defenders. And once JJ got a 2nd season, but Netflix didn't want to increase to a 3 or 4 series-per-year release model, Marvel basically had to decide if they were scrapping Defenders or Iron Fist (since they were the only 2 that hadn't really "started" yet) or if they were going to have to live with a 2 year gap between next seasons for DD & JJ. They opted for the latter. If you want to complain to anyone, complain to Netflix. They're the ones that don't want to increase their frequency of release for the Marvel TV stuff. But for the time being, if they're only releasing 2 series per year & want to actually GET to Defenders in this decade, while still adding new series, something's gotta give. And some series are going to have extra year gaps between release.
  9. Yes. Marvel & Netflix, according to everything they've said publicly, at least up thru Defenders, are going to be sticking with their current 2-per-year release schedule. Defenders is likely late 2017 & Iron Fist early 2017. Now, that might change after Defenders, but from everything they've said in interviews (both Loeb and the spokespeople from Netflix) is that they have no intention of going beyond 2-per-year thru 2017. Now, that of course might change. And it's pretty obvious that phase 2 of the Marvel Knights/Defenders/Neftlix stuff is GOING to require an accelerated release schedule to satisfy the actors (they don't wanna sit around and doing nothing while they wait for THEIR series to get back into production) especially since they've expanded the line with Punisher, likely going to expand it to Moon Knight and/or Daughters of the Dragon (depending on the reception of Misty and Colleen in Luke Cage & Iron Fist, respectively) and probably going to need to start merging currently-solo series into team-up series (Luke/Danny/JJ in a Heroes for Hire show most likely) otherwise, there's going to be too much of a gap between seasons & they might lose their momentum as they expand. But as of now, yes... 2 or 3 of those series are definitely not until 2018.
  10. I really hope this is good. I have very high hopes for it from the trailer & since WW was easily the best part of BvS. But this is also DC's last chance for me after all 3 movies so far being lackluster to passable, but nothing good yet. If this doesn't at least let me leave the theater having enjoyed myself, DC's releases all are going to the "I'll wait for Netflix" category.
  11. Totally agree. They didn't even give her a 2nd season this year, which pretty much says it all. The best part of JJ was Luke Cage IMO. Can't wait to see season 1. They didn't give DD a 3rd season next year either. 2nd & 3rd seasons are all on hold until they take care of the Defenders set-up and execution because they had already pushed Luke Cage, Iron Fist & Defenders back to add a 2nd season of DD. But a 2nd season of JJ is already announced, as well as a 3rd season of DD. I don't think the timing of a season 2 is indicative of their opinion on the quality or the audiences reaction, since it DID get a season 2. But just that Marvel wants to get to Defenders & doesn't want to push it off another 6 months, since they appear dead-set on sticking with the 2-series-per-year release model for the time being.
  12. That is really cool! I didn't realize the Super Soldier backstory. Thanks! By the way, did anyone catch the headband and wristbands? Yeah. There were a handful of "let's replicate the super soldier serum" projects that have created superheroes. Isiah Bradley. Luke Cage. American Kaiju. And a handful of others. Most of them though have been retconned in over the past 20 years or so. I think only Luke Cage's experiment was actually stated from the beginning to have been an attempt to recreate the process (or to achieve similar results even if it involved a different method)
  13. You do the magic type Well, it wouldn't make much sense to just eat the pizza topping & salad making types.
  14. I feel like I need to see this in 3D after eating a bag of mushrooms.
  15. He was in prison & ended up as part of a super soldier program experiment & it didn't succeed (though like many of the other iterations of the different "replicate the Super Soldier Serum" projects, it created a superhero. Just not another Cap) that's about the extent of my knowledge of Luke's origin.
  16. That Saturday crash might foretell a bad 2nd weekend. Or it's an aberration
  17. Yes. The team got shot down on the way into town (how? We don't know & it's not explained). The one Joker hijacked got shot down on Waller's orders. And the one Waller was in got knocked down by the "brother's" tentacle arm thing I think. Not to mention that at least 2 got knocked down on the news or surveillance broadcast of the initial attack when he first left the subway & started taking out bits of the city. I'm not sure I get the gag other than "ha ha. Helicopters suck & are easy to knock down!"
  18. Split personality is the only explanation because otherwise, her "dream" life as she experienced it makes no sense. The Harley that smashed people with a bat & kills people doesn't have a fantasy life of the Joker & a baby in suburbia.
  19. The way I understand it is that it's essentially 2 single movies with some similar plot that carries between them but can still be viewed as either individual stories or a grand epic. Basically, it'll probably be Marvel's version of Empire & Jedi but they wanted to get away from the Part 1 & 2 thing because apparently viewers don't like it & the 2nd part of 2-part movies always does worse at the box office in recent years
  20. Kinda called this. Loeb still reports to Ike. Feige reports to the Disney board. There's no reason for Ike to share his toys with Feige for no appreciable gain to his "piece" of the Marvel/Disney pie. Not only that, but I'm not sure Loeb is really a big fan of the way his former semi-equal (Feige) managed to get freedom & essentially a promotion & leaving him in the dust in the process.
  21. Was I also the only one that noticed that no helicopters in this movie managed to get more than a few blocks once they had anyone but generic soldiers in it before it got shot down? I counted 3 shot down helicopters in the span of about 30 minutes. Was this supposed to be a gag that I just didn't get?
  22. This was kinda . It wasn't bad, but I didn't really leave the theater satisfied either. The biggest descriptor I could use for this movie was "jarring". The editing. The way that it was quite obviously 2 different scripts by the time it was done that were mashed together with 2 different interpretations of most of at least a few of the characters. The only thing I really enjoyed about it & felt was consistent was Waller. Deadshot was great, even if he was just "stereotypical Will Smith character #2" mashed together with a little of "Will Smith wants an Oscar!" in an attempt to add depth. But also on the list of jarring things? Harley's magical disappearing accent that only showed up SOMETIMES. Sometimes she was The Nanny, and sometimes she was "Aussie just trying to sound American". Depending on the scene. The character moments that were just kind "well, this is where movies put character moments, so lets stuff one in there" thing was pretty jarring too. The biggest one was the "Will Smith wants an Oscar" moment where he's just staring into the store window at the coat that his daughter owned immediately after Harley smashes the window. But that was again editing. Had they switched those scenes around tho and added something to prompt him to look at the window or something, and then she smashes it to steal the purse to end that "moment"? Perfect. The last one was just the way a lot of things were started and not followed up on or changed with no explanation. Deadshot went from "I'mma take out these guards & we can kill Flagg & bail" to "if he dies, we die" in the span of a few seconds with no explanation at all. It's like the reshoots tried to "Guardians-it up" because of the reactions to BvS and ended up making the movie more jarring as a result because of the abrupt tonal shifts. It could have been a better movie, even if it was still all dour & dark & whatnot if they kept with the Ayers part, and it could have been a better movie it was more fun & "Guardians-like" like the reshoots attempted to make it. But between the tonal changes & the mashing together of different takes on the characters even in the same scenes, it ended up ... for the dozen-th time: jarring.
  23. I don't think I will. I sold because I don't have enough space for it & I don't see myself suddenly finding a whole 2nd room to take over with my nerd stuff. I already have a whole room dedicated to comics & whatnot & can't find the room to set up my Genesis & other old game consoles there, much less the Defiant. Plus, I don't think I'd have ever done anything with them anyway. I'm just past that phase. 20-some years & they've sat & I didn't care. I got a short shot of nostalgia digging them out but they aren't really my bag anymore. I haven't been much of a toy guy since I was a kid. I just still had them all & the novelty was fun. Best case? They would have gotten set up on a table or 3 in some room & just kinda looked at from time to time & been another thing to dust. !
  24. I'm actually a little bummed that my Defiant didn't still have the box or else I would have gotten more for it. I always wanted the Flagg. I still kinda do even after selling off my Joes. (I kept 2 things. The HAL cannon & V3 Sgt Slaughter. Or whichever one it was that he wore the blue shirt & sunglasses) But the Defiant was always something amazing. And that it was only the price of a Nintendo circa 1987-ish when it came out? Can you imagine someone making, much less selling a toy of those proportions these days? . I'm kinda missing it a little already, even tho it was in storage for the past 25 years. Just something about knowing it was there was awesome.
