  1. Congratulations on your turn to the dark side GA collecting. Those books you picked up are all beauties and will help assuage the grief of the loss of the WMs. Alan: I appreciate all your advice and wisdom you have given me along the way, this little haul has definitely made things easier. It's funny my favourite WM's were my red coloured covers, now my entire collection is red coloured Jim Cool, that leaves me the more rare yellow, green and black ones. Yet you are selling a green one to pay for a red one Jim Can you say "file copy"?

  3. ...and I happen to like that little star on there. That's an original owner book from the same collection as Parker's Wonderworld #3.
  4. Hey Jim, how does it feel to hold your entire collection in one hand? I saw those books in hand and they are all smoking!
  5. Gang, I am selling off a large portion of my collection to pay for the new MMC #9 that I have acquired. Feel free to check out my thread and pm me with any interest. Help a brotha' out! LINK
  6. As an interesting aside there were several people that were simply looking to press and flip the book. I saved them the trouble as I hope to keep it for a while....that and it would have just cost me more later. (thumbs u
  7. Guys thanks. I'm pretty excited. To me it's one of the greatest comics of all time. I still need to pay it off but I am glad a scooped it. From what I understand there was a long lineup of people ready to swoop in on that book and I appreciate the integrity and openness that Gator showed to me as I considered the purchase. I think you'd be hard pressed to find a better guy to deal with than Rick.
  8. Well, let's jump start this thread with a bang. A little book I picked up in a deal I made this past weekend. This is my girlfriend Louise holding it for me as I take a picture of it. This is a scan of the book without the lady.
  9. the colors on that 13 are INTENSE! Those are beautiful, Richard....but why on earth won't Metropolis sell to YOU? I've never bought from them, but now I refuse to;) Oh, he's not the only one.
  10. It's a tough call....but I'd go with the AA #16 simply because of the grade and eye appeal although on any given day I could choose the Superman #1 because it is one of the coolest comics ever.
  11. I guess if you have a boner for Trollerine, it was fine. I thought it was brilliant. Wolverine looked like I imagined him to.
  12. When the crossovers got out of control Wolverine lost me. I thought the Havok/Wolverine mini was magnificent.
  13. So when did X-men #133 and Wolverine Mini #1 come out in relation to one another? That is a big factor in decided who made who. R.
  14. I agree in that we're not disagreeing. In fact I agree in everything that you've said. I just want to point out that by the time 1982 rolled around he was like a steam roller in the industry...he had the midas touch and most believed evreything he touched turned to gold...so to get back on track, yes he definately put Wolverine on the map. R.
  15. nah, that was not Miller's peak. If by the top, you mean artistically, that period would really begin with DKR and end with 300, so roughly 87-2000 (damn my horrible memory). if by the top, you mean in terms of clout, that would be roughly the same time period. When Miller did Wolverine LS, his star was still rising. Well I didn't mean he'd peaked but he was definately at the top of his game. He was doing covers for Marvel and I was all gaga for anything Miller so he had a strong following already. GCD is down for me so I can't check. Does anyone remember the time line of DD #158-191, Wolverine Mini #1-4 and X-men #108-141? R.
  16. Definately the mini series had a lot to do with it. That was off the charts back in the day and still probably in my top 10 favorite story arcs of all time. Since Marvel gave that story to Miller to draw (who was at the top of his game) they must have already had terrific feedback from readers regarding the character. It was definately John Byrne in the regular X-men run who made gave Wolverine the kick start and helped form who he was...with it being galvanized by the time the Dark Phoenix saga rolled around. What is the time period between the X-men issues and the Wolverine Mini? R.
  17. CGC has been exceedingly tough on DC's from what I can see. Incredible copy!
