  1. Didn't the owner of the book send pics to CGC and they said "Yeah, it's a 9.8"?
  2. Appreciate it dude, but I was looking for the tracking number for a shipped submission that has fallen off the page (due to that stupid 8 month rule).
  3. Yeah, I heard about that 300 book fiasco. Very bad decision(s) made. Very bad. Mistakes are bad, but usually understandable. Those kinds of things are more than mistakes. Purposeful decisions were made, and severe consequences should be in order.
  4. It's one thing for a company to consider the cost(s) of making a business decision - completely understandable. It's another the make money the sole factor in making every decision. And to top it off, lying thru your teeth to your customers about why you made that decision. Wouldn't it be great if this company was honest with us at least some of the time? Decision: FedEx is the sole return shipper Reason given: "With the updates, many return shipments will arrive faster and at a lower cost to submitters" Decision: label changes Reason given: "Based on feedback from prominent members of the collecting community..." Decision: no 'hold at location' option on return shipping Reason given: "This is to ensure the packages are received by the intended recipient as quickly and safely as possible. " Etc., etc. It's so plainly obvious that no consideration at all is given to the collector, or the collecting community. If money can be made/saved (regardless of the collector/community), it will be done.
  5. This is a very real concern with CGC, and that's a shame. Is the level of concern with this issue the same (if at all) with other grading companies?
  6. <--- conflicted On one hand, CGC has been doing this kind of for a while now (since hiring all those new employees?). It's becoming more and more a spoon shoot. but CGC's response to it? ... "Whatever" On the other hand, he refuses to post pics. Why?
  7. https://www.cgccomics.com/news/article/10238/return-shipping-updates/ the link above is their announcement about switching to FedEx exclusively for return shipping. However, this quote is from the announcement ... "...will be effective for orders submitted starting July 5, 2022." As far as charging for USPS and using Fedex, seems illegal. Also, if CGC planned on using FedEx exclusively, why was USPS even an option?
  8. I agree with you 100%. Unfortunately, it is obvious that CGC made this decision based on putting Benjamins in their pocket ... and that always trumps logic with them.
  9. Serious question... How can you know that nothing 'questionable' (as far as label swapping) happened?
  10. Kind of reminds me of the story I heard going around the boards when I first joined. I never knew the specifics, but it had something to do with a board member stealing another board member's wife.
  11. My masculinity level just dropped a level ... no idea what your talking about.
  12. Speaking of meat sweats... When I was growing up, I had Top Sirloin every Sunday night.
  13. I'm pretty sure that company (London Doll) is still in business.
  14. At the risk of coming off as too bullheaded, I'll ask CGC one last time... Was there a pay for grades thing going here with this BF fiasco? Yeah, I don't expect an answer from them. Ever. I just had to ask one last time. I wonder if the powers-that-be over there had any idea of the amount of negativity, and lack of integrity, this decision would result in. Maybe they just didn't care. I suppose it's possible, and even probable, that the amount of money they pocketed from this debacle was predicted from the start, and that made it worth it all.
  15. Which of these do you think best describes how the employees react each time they're told of these problems...
  16. Given the business ventures of CGC in the last few years, I'm not sure they can be categorized as a third party grading business anymore. It might be more accurate to describe them as some other kind of company, that also grades comic books.
  17. CGC "You will not mention our competitors"
  18. <--- Boomer here. You get paid for the work you do. You don't work according to your pay. That's not right.
