  1. Just finished reading Marvel Premiere #1. High Evolutionary gives Warlock a jewel, but he does not refer to it as the "soul gem". If you want the first appearance of the jewel itself and could care less about the name, this would probably fit the bill. The one caveat to all this being if there is an obscure backstory somewhere as to how the High Evolutionary obtains the jewel.
  2. The first mention of "6 Infinity Gems" is Marvel Team-Up 55. I believe I posted the exact panel maybe 6 months ago in this thread. I'm not sure where the first individual gem is mentioned but MP 1 is probably as good a guess as any. First Soul/Infinity Gem: Marvel Premiere 1 First Mention of Multiple Infinity/Soul Gems: Random Issue of Captain Marvel Here's what Wikipedia states are the 1st appearances/mentions of the gems/stones. I know Wikipedia can be edited, but more than likely whoever posted this did their homework. I found this interesting: But Marvel Wikia states SS44 as first appearance: http://marvel.wikia.com/Infinity_Gauntlet_%28Item%29 I don't have Thanos Quest 2 to verify but I do have SS44 and it's there. Are the gems in the gauntlet in SS44? That seems to be what the Thanos #2 reference is about. Oh sorry, I misread it. I thought it was about the Infinity Gauntlet which 1st app in SS44 rather than just the gems themselves. Carry on. But yes, SS44 also refers to the gems on pg 6 - but it's not their 1st appearance though. Notice their color. Here's the panel from Captain Marvel #45 that mentions six Soul Gems. Helluva catch on the CM 45! I just read through Power of Warlock #1 and although there is a reference to the jewel on Warlock's forehead it's not referred to as the "soul gem". I've got a couple of nice copies so I was hoping for fortune and glory, but alas, I cannot attest that this is the case. It wasn't even a good read

  4. Any of you knowledgeable gentlemen have thoughts one way or another on Superman/Batman #8? You would think with all the Supergirl hype If anyone knows the initial print run Id greatly appreciate it
  5. Haha. I couldn't resist. On a side note. Anyone notice the early Earth-2 JSA x-overs getting a little heat? Is this due to Convergence, or perhaps something bigger? I have not read it yet.
  6. My only gripe is having to wait 30 days to see what happens next
  7. There are a couple of extensive discussions of this in threads in the Copper Age forum. Interesting especially considering both are BA books SW 42 Dec 1980 MSS 16 Spring 1980 You can read the next 3 or 4 pages starting here. Not much there on the MSS #16. Interesting. Thank you for sharing, young lady. Perhaps you have a Vested Interest in starting this conversation anew? Probably a couple more where that came from It's the first appearance of Boba Fett and Yoda, albeit in a magazine. We both know it.

  9. I'd love to hear the other options. TMNT 1 would be my choice, but I'm not so dug in the trenches I couldn't be persuaded. Not that my opinion is of any consequence, but I enjoy the historical perspective

  12. Here's a question, guys? While SW #42 is Boba's 1st appearance in a comic wouldn't Marvel Super Special #16 be the 1st Boba Fett? I believe it pre-dates 42. Very similar to the MP #7/Hulk #271 deal with Rocket.

  14. Just for the record. I changed my name recently and it took 3-4 days for the admin to approve.
  15. Solid and hassle free! Nice books and courteous service. Thank you!
  16. I can't sell a 260 to save my life. That 5.0 sale doesn't bode well for my raw 4.0. Anyone know what's up with Flash 123? It's always been a tough book but I've been aggressive the last few auctions only to come away with crushed dreams. Is Earth-2 in contention for the big screen?
  17. I'm a fan of the spinner rack as well. Great scores all around!
  18. Hands down biggest roasting since Hasselhoff on Comedy Central.
