  1. It'll be 48 for sure - first Iron Fist team-up, Byrne art, low-selling point of the series (I missed that one growing up, and only caught the Byrne art by 49), Daughters of the Dragon appearance, IF vs. PM fight cover, etc. 50 is a possibility, as it's the first official title and it's got Byrne art, but I doubt it. And as for 54, huh? The first time they pluralized Hero for Hire? That's sucker bait for the feebs and dweebs to waste money on. Buy PM 48 if you really think the team-up is going to heat up in back issues. But 54? Isn't 50 the first team up? I thought they fought each other in 48?
  2. One of those Luke Cage books should break out but I'm not sure if it will be 48, 50 or 54
  3. Just a great all around guy. Wish you the very best, buddy!! Thank you!!
  4. He could probably just disclose all the resto, sell on the Bay via 7 day auction and get Hector's $150 back plus a little extra. With the movie only 10 days away this is one of the hotter books out there at the moment. I'm still a little unsure why he feels pulling out the 13.2, sharing PM's and writing 1000 word essays every 72 hours is the best course of action?
  5. I always thought it was X-Factor #19, hmmm gotta dig out the boxes and flip through em Slab both copies, however the 19 goes for more money. Cameo (head shots) in 15. Full appearance and cover in 19. See debate taking place yesterday in the BA heating up thread. So far the market has favored the 19 but there seems to be interest in both. CBCS actually calls 15 a full appearance which is a little odd since they still call Forever People 1 a cameo So much for consistency.
  6. I think the ambiguity lies between what is the first appearance and the first significant appearance. Wolverine clearly appears in one panel in 180, but due to the cover and melee of 181 it's the more coveted of the two books. There's plenty of other similar examples throughout the history of comic book literature. Some are really vague. I'm still not sure which direction FF 67/Thor 165 will break.
  7. One strange thing about the PMs that were posted is that when the seller calls Silverweb in to get his opinion on the book. The first question Silverweb asks is whether or not the seller is sure there is trim or CT. In other words, his Spidey sense seems to have been tingling. At least that's the way I read it. I did not interpret that as his blessing that the book was unrestored whatsoever.
  8. Just finished reading today's WD. Massive print run aside, all the stars seem to be aligning for #100. Whether or not demand will ever outweigh supply would seem to be the only obstacle.
  9. Books with sub creases are often times among the most attractive books for their technical grades. You make a valid point. The book appears nicer than 90%+ of the graded 4.0's out there.
  10. That's what I was questioning in the original thread about the ST 107. Although not 100% clear, the OP made it sound like the trim was detected during verification. I assume it's possible that one of the graders could have been working the verification queue that day and caught it early in the process. Having said all that, I believe the Avengers 57 in the earlier sales thread is trimmed along the top and right edges.
  11. Hey, I've been hyping Power-man 24 as an "undiscovered gem" for a while now. And WTF is all this "Origin of XXX" BS? It's the first appearance of Black Goliath, no question, yet CGC seems to want to give "Origin" to any older books with pre-existing hero (or even normal) characters. With Modern ones, it's always "First Appearance of XXX" (to let comic shops/member firms hype the readily-available books) like the idiotic "First Appearance of Winter Soldier" (ummmm, Bucky's been around for decades). Winter soldier is the same as bucky in the exact same way Him is the same as warlock. FF #66 then is the first appearance of warlock. huh? He's trying to say they are completely different characters. Like the 1st appearance of Carol Danvers isn't the same as the 1st appearance of Ms. Marvel. Like the 1st appearance of Jim Rhodes isn't the same as the 1st appearance of War Machine. Like the 1st appearance of Hank Pym isn't the 1st appearance of Ant-Man ;^) Or like 3 heroes meeting up in a book notorious for team ups isn't the first appearance of the Teen Titans You might have me sold on TTA 35 as 1st Ant Man.
  12. He's a good dude. If you shoot him a PM he will make payment arrangements. The guy buys a lot of books. Not sure why he'd wind up on this list
  13. Brave and the Bold 60 has strong potential in high grade Teen Titans have always been under appreciated and as I have said all along, 60 is their first appearance.
  14. That Comiclink sale bodes well for the book. Now I just need a Darkseid cameo in the upcoming Superman/Batman movie
  15. Could potentially get really hot once the man in black pops up on AMC. I actually think this most recent issue could also someday be a decent book. 1st Alpha. Might be worth scooping up an extra copy or two if any are left at your LCS.
