  1. Haven't seen this one posted in the thread yet but sure most have it - Moore's signed Supreme #41. American Entertainment was quite a shop.
  2. If you can find these, get them. They are difficult to locate but compared to the current Marvel HC reprints they look a lot better (I'm a real snob with modern re-colouring though...) Eclipse didn't do many hard covers but these were worth it. (Also - in fond internet memories, I got my copy of Miracleman #15 off rec.arts.comics.marketplace from a guy in the UK circa 1997. I put £20 in an envelope, dropped it in the mail and a legit minty MM #15 showed up 2 weeks later. No school like the old school LOL)
  3. And when I first saw Deathstroke I said "hey it's the Taskmaster but at DC!" But George Perez is beyond reproach imo. And as others have said - Deadpool is great but Rob doesn't have much to do with that. Joe Kelly - hell yeah.
  4. They do provide guidance…but they don’t make you listen lol. MCS is amazing - incredible operation imo. Consignments are sometimes comical though - as in MCS will have a book for $100, one consigner will have it for $105 and a 3rd for $2000. I just assume those guys are using MCS to hold on to their books as long term storage.
  5. I went to the giant store in Denver - it was like 2000 flea markets in one building but all run by the same guy - Chuck Rozanski. It was the Indiana Jones warehouse but more disorganized. Chuck had a giant bowl of noodles and was sorting piles of comics. I was there for about 45 mins and just took it all in - didn’t buy anything bc it was all too expensive but it was something to behold. @BlowUpTheMoon - the one book recall in the glass case was Marvel Two-In-One Annual 2 - it was graded NM (and as expected looked F-) for $400. My favourite website memory - they used to post a want list. This was probably 2002ish - and very proudly it said “Giant Size X-Men 1 - offers as high as $2.50”. I just assumed 5x cover was Chuck’s math on everything after the Church collection buy. He is a legendary figure though - and really does love comics. But yeah he doesn’t care if he sells any of them.
  6. I'm not a massive Liefeld fan nor am I a huge detractor. I'd have actually sent in a book or two until I saw the prices though. I'm not willing to send a minty New Mutants 87 or 98 because my sig series experience is that they won't keep a 9.8. And no other Liefeld book is worth more than $10...so I can't justify paying that sig fee for a New Mutants 93 or 94 which would be my choice for peak Rob. Ah well. Good luck to those who submitted!
  7. I know Ploog is retired from cons and the comic business...but he might do something for CGC bc Ploog is awesome. JR Sr. - I believe his health (and I think some of it is arthritis) isn't great. Too bad - I got one from John years ago but would get more.
  8. I don't know how to find the last time I posted in this...but I'm sure I said: Barry Windsor-Smith - call him, give it a shot...maybe he says "no", maybe not! He doesn't have Byrne money - maybe when he gets the potential economics he's a "yes"...(and pigs might fly, but hey, BWS stands alone imo!) Paul Smith - even more doubtful given that last I heard he doesn't venture out much. But he is the greatest X-Men artist ever...I'd send in my whole run! Neil Gaiman - a longshot as he's likely too busy and really doesn't need the money, but he'd rival McFarlane subs I'm sure. He's Gaiman.
  9. Embarrassed to ask but what the heck. I've got dozens of multi-sig books done by facilitators...but for a private signing, other than sending the book in it's current Yellow slab, do I have to do anything else (fill out a different form?)? Asking for Paul Levitz as I've got a few LoSH that already have Giffen so Paul would be a great addition. (And if the answer is "just mail the slab and CGC takes care of it", fantastic!)
  10. Rich does rule so he'll likely reply. I'm just looking - I bought an awesome Kelley Jones sketch in this thread (and co-incidentally just got a few multi-sig 9.8s from Rich done over the last few shows...bc as already stated, Rich rules!)
  11. Good luck with your sale! I've been a "run" collector my whole collecting lifetime so that's what I've got - full series or runs that cover years (or decades...LOL). To purge my collection of the no-value stuff over the past couple of years I've loaded up 3-4 long boxes with as much as I can fit and just accepted whatever offer I got from local shops. My goal on those books was "get them out of the house" so getting $100 a long box even if I thought they were worth more was enough bc it met my goal - get rid of it. For anything books in that $20 and above range, I've used MCS. Bc even though I'm purging, I'm still buying, so MCS credit stockpiles until I decide my next "run" to get after.
  12. Sad to hear this. I have never heard of Shawn Fritz that doesn't mean anything by itself but I've seen Jim at many shows and last I recall I think he was booked via former Marvel editor Renee Witterstaetter so maybe reach out to her? Jim is still very active on the convention circuit. He was just at New Orleans and I sent a few books to get signed at Terrificon last summer. Last time I saw Jim he signed 10 books in about 3 minutes, talking the whole time so it seems odd that his schedule is the issue. Good luck and hopefully this works itself out.
  13. Two of these books were ‘Tec #576 and #578 and as I’m adding them to my comics DB today I notice…CGC reversed the labels (#576 on #578 and vice versa). Man this submission has been a complete loss for me. Email to support going now :-(
  14. The 3 I sent (existing 9.8s) that I didn't get pressed I'm officially 0 for 3 on - all 3 came back 9.6. It's a lottery and I lost it LOL (I had a shipment once that 5 existing 9.6s and 4 of them came back 9.8s...win some, lose some LOL!)
  15. Funny interview. I know a pile of artists now make a good living as "just" a cover artist but it still sounds weird to me when he says "he did all the art" when as far as I know he just did covers on all those books? And as others have said, all homages, no original design. I've seen him at a few shows but don't own any of his work so never dropped by to get a signature. Wasn't he also the guy who was posting pictures of the massive lines at his booth when, in fact, they weren't his lines?
  16. That Prince was total A-lister though Ken! He'd belong in a "tell me the greatest musicians ever" thread! DC's Prince the mercenary...solid guy, good in a scrap, but D-list all the way
  17. Gordon, (the American), Prince, (the Englishman) and Horst (the German) - deserters from the French Foreign Legion operating as "The Mercenaries". I don't know who else loved those guys, but I did. I don't even know if they lasted more than 10-15 issues in G.I. Combat but they were awesome. Love to see them come back in some form.
  18. I'm jacked to see folks getting them back - all mine are still flagged as "Scheduled for Grading"...
  19. Same. I wish I had time to send 15 emails to someone. Maybe they were delayed because it was a holiday weekend? (Bc if you're a foreigner, like me and want to complain about something in another country, you should at least be aware of what's going on there...it was Thanksgiving in the States according to the internet...) I also learned that when you have a complaint, you're now supposed to post it to any place that allows you to post which I didn't know. Anyone got a list of these places? Between that and 15 emails, OP could have flown to Texas and waited at the warehouse. Also, Conan is a friggin' saint.
