Chamber of Chills 23. I grade this one at a 5.5. There is a small tear in the cover right above the "S" in Chills, and a couple chips on the top and the right side of the cover. The cover is very glossy and has lots of eye appeal. The pages are beautiful and I really hate to see this one go, if if does that is.
Last GPA was a 3.5 selling for 1750$
How does 2250$ sound? Make me an offer
Nice

They are as popular today as when they were first published. I have had a few collections of EC books offered to me that were bought off the stands, read once very, very carefully and stored as one might store a valued treasure. TFTC 20 and VOH 12 would be equal in availability long term as far as I know. CSS 15 (#1) much tougher and a high grade Tales of Terror Annual 1 is very tough. Remember the Gaines file copies, and those issues that were never offered in the Gaines collection.
Supposedly EC king Gary Arlington could never find a TOT Annual #1 in any grade. I've had a couple complete or very near complete EC collections and have only had this one. Who cares what the grade is? What makes this one extra special is it's contents: HOF #15 (#1), VOH #12 (#1), TFTC #20 (#1) and Weird Science #13 (#2). Got it from Moondog many moons ago. One of my favorite top 10 books!
Oh, have had Crime Suspense #1 but never seen a #15 (#1)...

Must be the Civil War angle. The whole issue is devoted to it. Very popular issue and goes for a little over guide on the bay lately.

If I had it to do again, that would change to what I liked the most. None of my MH books have been pressed. I can't tell you how often I see MH books that I know were a 9.0 to 9.2 now graded 9.6 or 9.8, sad. But, that is the way of the hobby/business. I guess it doesn't matter if they are pressed, because the books are now encased in plastic and are not readable any longer. For us old timers, there was nothing like the touch, feel and smell of the MH books. That now seems to be gone forever...
Yep, nothing like a the feel and smell of a naked MH. I've got a pile that have never been pressed or slabbed. I just can't bring myself to do it...

I always enjoy our conversations and catching up.
While I understand that Long Beach and my inventory are not for everyone, there were plenty of comic buyers and my sales were excellent this year. I would love to have the inventory that I had a few years ago; however, the ability to acquire large groups of SA & GA and/or big keys is much more challenging than ever as most dealers will attest to. Fortunately, there are alternatives for the California buyers. Perhaps I will be able to pick up a nice collection before the LB Expo next February.
Thanks to those who came and bought this year. Hope to see you in February.
Ed
Glad you had a good show Ed. Sorry I missed you. Looks maybe you had the comic book buying market cornered. I just couldn't justify it this time.

This is a very reputable and knowledgeable collector and ebay seller for what it's worth. I would go with genuine. What a killer find!

So, there are 4 "graded" copies, I have an un-graded copy and I know of 3 other un-graded copies. (total of 8) are there more out there I don't know of? Most likely, how many who knows. The fact that Gerber couldn't find a copy doesn't mean a whole lot. I believe his pool of contributors was fairly small at the time. He didn't ask me or any other the other 3 owners I know of. I still believe it to be quite scarce. Anybody else here have one or know of one?

This looks like it is Stan Lee's old show. Probably also very light on vintage comic book dealers. Last one stank. Until they post the exhibitor list, I'm out of this one too. At least it isn't 50 bucks to get into like the LB show.
Yeah, come see me on Sunday... I've got "a box"...

Cool book Pablo. LBCC pick-up?
Love these in the car pick-up photos. Can't even wait until you get home?
There is a local flipper (not Pablo) who shoots his photos on the back seat of his car to list on ebay.
Mostly PCH Sale + some random books, some keys of course (Chamber of Chills 23, Blue Bolt 112 and 115). Lots of lower grade PCH books, Take a Look! Price drops on what's left on first page!
