  1. One thing to remember with eBay sales -- discounts and rewards. I bought a 9.2 at the end of March for a $4600 best offer. However, I also got $100 off with one of those wonderful eBay coupons, and another 2% back from my credit card. So in reality, I was actually into the book a shade over $4400. Plus I got some eBay bucks out of the transaction as well. Incidentally the book sold on consignment for $5800 earlier this week. I've dabbled in the price wave since late 2016 with a handful of copies, and I'm still astounded by the ongoing price appreciation.
  2. Let's hope its more than a dream. Fox would be better off putting the Phoenix/Dark Phoenix episodes from the classic animated series on the big screen rather than releasing this bomb in waiting.
  3. Yeah...it’s really not. Satire is great when done well, this is just a half az’d attempt at ”Rarrr, take this Star Wars nerds!” displayed in a mediocre photo collage.
  4. Respond with a number of four letter words and move on, it’s your book so price it however you like. Or, sans four letter words, you could have suggested to eBay warrior that he buy your book at the price you had it listed at, and then he could flip it for a profit since it supposedly should be priced higher.
  5. Well, so much for the existence of a high road in this fiasco.
  6. Saved $71 and change on an X-Men 6 (Silver Age, not 1991 series!)
  7. Technically...we could also consider abstracts a form of art...
  8. This may have been relevant to the topic at hand if you presented any facts, rather than a bunch of abstracts...
  9. I'd like to see Disney put The Simpsons to bed. Show hasn't been funny in about 15 years.
  10. Once Marvel's previous (devoid of) brain trust decided to go scorched earth on the company's entire 50ish year history of main characters, the print decline was inevitable. Four catalysts immediately come to mind: 1. A large portion of Marvel's established fan base was going to lash out at such drastic and seemingly pointless change, not only with their mouths/keyboard but also with their wallets. 2. The transition from "old" to "new" was such overt pandering, and done in such a laughably bad manner (art/writing/PR, the whole gamut), that it was ripe for mockery. 3. With the somewhat exception of X-23, not one of these "new" characters was or is being seen on the big screen in the role they were playing in print. So the kids who should be the new generation of readers were never going to connect the MCU movies to the MCU comics. 4. Relaunch after relaunch after relaunch with anywhere from 6 to 600 variants of each issue. No thanks. I haven't bought a new release since I called it a day after unfortunately subjecting myself to the hilariously bad "death" of Wolverine storyline, so when the Legacy re-launch was announced I didn't care in the slightest. The damage was already irreparably done in my book. However, I will say it is a bit of shame to hear that Marvel basically went reverse scorched earth in trying to make things normal again. It would have been nice to see Marvel get the print division back on track, but it seems the new crew at the top clearly didn't learn anything from the first screw up.
  11. Always monitor your pets' online activities. When me and the cat are discussing the family portfolio, I only ask her for stock advice, I don't actually let her enter the orders. Not that the brokerage wouldn't be MORE than understanding when I tell them "oh sorry, I was trying to buy a little GE on the recent dip, but I let the cat type and she accidentally bought 9367539 shares of GRPN. Please cancel."
  12. The capitalist dog in me says $0, because any comic in my collection is available for the right price.
  13. Now I’m thinking if he can’t not buy, one negative cancels the other and he can buy!
  14. While I wouldn't say "blows away", I would also rank T1 over T2. While T2's visuals were obviously superior, I favor T1's overall story and presentation. So my abbreviated list: T1 T2 T3 Salvation 712. Sarah Connor Chronicles ("I call shotgun." 'I call 9mm.' FAIL.) 713. Spider-Man 3 Haven't seen/no opinion -- Genesys
  15. The problem in this scenario is obvious - you only have HALF a case. Full case — totally different story.
  16. That’s some tough sympathy to sell, dude clearly has his life priorities twisted if he’s buying comics to the detriment of his quality of life. I say it frequently - you can’t live under the comics. if you knew his financial situation in advance, you never should have tried to broker this deal without cash in hand.
  17. He is risen! Seriously though, it would be interesting to find out who is really pulling the strings behind the scenes. If, IF, imdb is to be believed, ol' Keya was hot on the Marilyn Monroe death investigation in his early to mid teens (somehow finding the time and resources to not only interview, but track down in the first place, 300 people from 30+ years ago when the internet was still in its relative infancy), bought a big chunk of Monroe's estate at age 18, survived the WTC attacks at age 19, and currently owns a whole treasure trove of other celebrity and historical artifacts by age 36. Maybe mommy and daddy are ultra rich, or some proverbial shadowy figure looking to exploit his early business sense bankrolled him for some unknown (to us) purpose. Regardless, I would bet dude is into some seriously shady stuff.
  18. It was pretty easy to see that this guy was just another vulture. https://www.msn.com/en-us/movies/news/stan-lees-business-manager-arrested-on-suspicion-of-filing-false-police-report/ar-AAyy6nG?ocid=spartandhp
  19. I just wish I was in the room when someone first piped up and said, "You know what we need for this movie? Some flying Space Leia." I'd really like to know how that guy wasn't immediately fired.
  20. Define “everyone”. There’s been what, maybe ten victims of Paradise who posted in this thread? How many more might still be out there? Furthermore, aren’t you still out a lost book that they never compensated you for?
