  1. I’m still happy they took the risk to release it in the midst of the pandemic knowing they wouldn’t come close to maxing their B.O. But it did scare off most everyone else to back up their releases.
  2. You know, my statement above is not really correct. For Mulan and this Raya movie (and I assume eventually Black Widow), the $29.99 is just an early viewing unlock. It’s definitely not a purchase because in order to keep it, you would need to pay the monthly Disney subscription rate indefinitely. But Mulan was made available for actual purchase shortly after Disney put it out on their platform. I guess they weren’t happy with how many subscribers actually wanted to see Mulan early so they opened it up to everyone outside Disney+. That little move is definitely going to affect this new movie. It may not affect Black Widow though as that’s going to be a block party movie. A dozen fans get together and chip in a couple of bucks and one purchase is made. We can all thank Black Widow later for a COVID resurgence.
  3. Ok, it was a copy with no foil title at all.
  4. Or maybe I’m remembering it wrong. It was either that or there was no Maxx title added at all. Someone with a better memory than me chime in.
  5. No need for one, this is holding up just fine.
  6. There are dozens of films that I love in the fifty percent bracket like The Life Aquatic. Some even lower like The Boondock Saints at 28%. More often than not I will side with RT on whether it’s a good or bad film but I hardly ever agree on the percentages. I never use that site to decide whether or not I should go see a movie I have an interest in. If it turns out to be bad then my family and I can have fun trashing or debating it after. I sometimes check the RT scores after I’ve seen a film to see if I align with the precious critics with their BA in Journalism or Film Studies.
  7. Lebowski had acquired the majority of my ashcan collection. Turned out we were living in the same state and planned on meeting up. Regretfully, I never got that chance.
  8. There were some good times in this thread.
  9. Only watched the first episode so far and absolutely loved it. I hope it remains a slow burn until the last couple of episodes. Nice touch on the opening title sequence switching to black and white and also changing the sound from stereo to mono. Marvels first great tv show away from their standard formula. Finally taking risk and thinking outside the Marvel box. Also love the aspect ratio since I’m watching this on my 12.9” iPad. I’m able to go full screen edge to edge without cutting off any of the picture.
  10. Agreed. My excitement level for No time to Die was at a ten a year ago. Literally at the top of my list for must-see films. Now, I’ve forgotten about it as quality movies are dropping weekly for home release. Movies I’ve read nothing about before. So now when Bond and Black Widow eventually drop, I’ll be like, “Oh, I’ll probably watch it next weekend.”
  11. Very appropriate since this is not a special edition or even a directors cut since he never really finished the film the first time.
  12. Look at the Wonder Woman thread. I didn’t enjoy the movie and stated it there and moved on. But you have a couple posters who keep returning to it to let us know it was a failure over and over. I don’t think they realize that their own insecurities are showing when they gloat on a “failure” to prop up the movies they like. But I say let the children play.
  13. 4 hours for a home release is perfect for me. Not so much in the theater. I don’t remember how long the Irishman was but I would take a break every hour and refill snacks and was having the best time with it.
  14. Last guy shooting AK sideways. I can forgive the fact that he’s not aiming since the zombies look like they may be ten feet away.
  15. I know nothing of this Grails they speak of.
  16. I have noticed that quite a few of my HD iTunes purchases automatically upgraded to 4K at no extra cost when those transfers became available. I may stick with digital copies from now on. Sure, you don’t physically own them unless you download them.
  17. Not a Scarlett fan in this particular role. I wish Emily Blunt hadn't turned it down when it was offered. Still looking forward to this movie as the trailers look great.
