  1. Kudos to Rube for the sweet B&B slab (well, it's no longer a slab!). Thanks so much, and if ye got any more, bring 'em on!
  2. I agree, Archie's absence from the big screen is a bit odd. I guess the studio heads figure it would be a tough sell...a little too risque for the "Dennis the Menace" crowd, and too cutsie-cute for the American Pie crowd. Sadly, so many mainsteam Americans think of Archie as pretty bland, forumulaic (i.e. tired) comedy. They wouldn't know a Pep #22 if it hit 'em in the head.
  3. Sweet Thrilling Comics! Uh-oh...you just bought the Gerbers.....you're in trouble now!
  4. Just picked up in the last heritage auction. Came in at $125 under guide.
  5. That Weird Mysteries is a classic! Looks like the pre-code is having a nice week on ebay. Here's a few books I didn't win....wish I'd pulled the trigger on that Haunted Thrills when Heritage had it as a BIN of $185 on their website. Looks like these books are going strong again. http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=6539778995&rd=1&sspagename=STRK%3AMEDW%3AIT&rd=1 http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=6539779067&rd=1&sspagename=STRK%3AMEDW%3AIT&rd=1 http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=6539778908&rd=1&sspagename=STRK%3AMEDW%3AIT&rd=1
  6. Obviously this one hasn't arrived yet, but Heritage charged my credit card so this sucker's on its way! http://www.heritagecomics.com/common/view_item.php?Sale_No=15062&Lot_No=17448 Hardly the greatest cover in the run, but I'm a sucker for Story comics in highgrade. I find them to be one of toughest pre-code publishers to find in HG...even tougher than Ajax IMO. Anybody else notice this as well?
  7. Just came out on top on this book last night: Tomb of Terror #10 CGC 8.5. I know, I know it's a Harvey, so the VF+ grade is not quite as impressive as it would be with another pre-code publisher, but I love the cover on this one. I'm also giving serious though to pursuing a VFish run of Tomb of Terror, as it's a relatively short run. The seller was a fellow forumite aka Slacker, a good guy who I've dealt with a little previously. Your money order's in the mail, Jim! http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=6532822361&ssPageName=ADME:B:EOAB:US:6
  8. Kudos to paperheart for hooking me up with an Adventure #431 CGC 9.4. I got the book at a fair price and the shipping was superfast. A great many thanks!
  9. Many congrats on getting the cover feature! Despite my reluctance to the current "pedigree glut," that's a book I'll definitely pick up.
  10. Shouldn't we delete xotrunk's ebay id from this list of trustworthy sellers if he's running around thrillbidding on people's auctions and never paying up???
  11. Xoxotrunks' ebay id was recently added to cavecarson's "forumites on ebay" thread. I propose that his name gets dumped from that list, as only forumites who are trustworthy should be included on there. One bad apple spoils the barrell, and all that.
  12. Amazing stuff. Hey JB, if I were you I wouldn't let any crazy nekkid women into your pad, especially if they say they've got to use the bathroom.
  13. Lookee what I just won. As long as this one doesn't have any undisclosed defects, I already have a customer in mind for the quick flip. http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=6525569213
  14. "And then he pulled out his massive tool, knocking over a desklamp..."
  15. Don't remember exactly, but I think it was a bit over hundred bucks...mebbe $130 or something like that. It's a sweet highgrade copy, though. I've been thinking about slabbing it, just 'cause there's none on the census. What was the asking price for the one on ebay?
  16. Here's an uncommon drug giveaway; I'm pretty sure this one's not listed in OS. Picked this book up from Metropolis a little while back. (Sorry about the sticker)
  17. Woo-hoo, I'm the one person who voted for Prize!!! Ya'll don't know what yer missing. More for me, more for me! BTW, does the recent pinning of Paull's thread now mean that PCH is "hot" again? I know there's still a lot of mixed emotions about there about the spike in prices in the early 90's (and not undeseverdly so) but the horror books have been relatively "cool" for several years now. Are we due for yet another boom period?
  18. Sounds like a good idea to me. And here's two kinda recent (i.e. purchased this year) books to contribute. Both picked up on ebay.
  19. Agreed. I've bought two or three times from Andy, and have been very pleased. His selection is definitely impressive. Definitely worth a look from more folks.
