I'm pretty sure SF has a no prosecution order in effect. It is all over the news.  Why investigate if it won't be prosecuted?

    Sorry for cobbledclam's loss :foryou:

Oh it's in San Francisco? Yeah I've seen reports of weird stuff going on there, of gangs literally being able to brazenly walk or ride in on motorcycles into stores and take what they want and leave, and nothing is being done about it. It sounds like there's some real problems there at the moment.

I seem to recall reading that the editor of Fantastic Four Unlimited requested that Herb Trimpe imitate Rob Leifeld's art style. So if the goal was to draw terribly, then mission accomplished.

Not true. It was Herb's own choice, and was his favourite art he drew. He loved the style. I've debunked this one before, here's the link: https://www.google.com/amp/s/www.cbr.com/comic-book-legends-revealed-195/amp/

    Great album.

Got to see them live. Great to check them off my list for historical reasons, but considering their whole thing is literally standing completely still, their show is (or was, at least, when I saw them) pretty dull.

  4. Done with the DeFalco/Ryan run, and the 2 issue Waid/Pacheco Onslaught tie-in, taking me to Heroes Return (I decided to skip Heroes Reborn for now). The first 3 issues of it are some of my favourite FF comics ever, Lobdell's not a great writer, but he knew how to handle the Four here, and what to say about Alan Davis with Mark Farmer on inks? Perfection. And to top it off we get Liquid's gorgeous colours. Fantastic stuff (pun intended).

Issue 4 is an odd beast. You can feel the budget cuts/rushed nature/the fact that something ain't right. I love Larocca's art from this period, but I'm not fond of Art Thibert handling his inks, and the colours are a definite downgrade here, for this larger issue. It's also coplotted by Claremont, as he prepares to come aboard. Come issue 5 things at least look a lot better again with the beautiful Liquid! colours, setting the standard for the book. Amazing what a difference that makes in this new era for Marvel. It also seems to help smooth out the inks somewhat, making them more palatable. And onward we go!
