  1. That's good. Nice to know there are still small shows that are making a mark.
  2. Were these pictures taken before the crowd came in, or was this a poorly attended show? I ask because I have been noticing a definite downward trend in the average show. I think the bubble has burst. The last few years, if a show was on, people showed up. Now, not as much.
  3. I am guessing that this may belong in the Mixed Age /Misc. They are cool though. When you say patches, are they embroidered and thick like patches?
  4. Yup, Boston is a horrible parking town. I took my cycle in a couple years ago and the nice lady at the lot, just a block away, let me in for the goose egg. She said - just find a corner.
  5. Both Boston and Terrificon always seem to be close to each other, yet they both thrive. I think there are enough fans in the area to support both shows. As long as the entry is reasonable, you can go to both just to enjoy the atmosphere. I used to go to both, and enjoyed Boston as they always had top guests, but the last couple of years I have only attended Terrificon. This year they move to the new Mohegan expo center. More room, but no real bump in cost to the fan. I know the owner and he works hard to put on the show. I don't think there will be big dip in attendance for either show, but who spends what where, is another matter.
  6. After seeing the messages between you two, and him being a non commital half a scam artist, I would also start pushing back. The "I will have to think about this" would be the last straw. And how long has he had the package? At a certain point, it must be considered his, and out of the postal service's hands. As in not being able to refuse delivery. That ship must have sailed by now. You have more patience with him than I would have had. I would only think this would enhance your reputation on this board.
  7. If this is a boardie who visits often, he is probably aware of this thread. If so, and he has not spoken up, you can assume he knows he is in the wrong.
  8. I have been to about a dozen Apple shows. It is always warm. This show was lacking, but it's a great reason to grab a couple of friends and go to NYC.
  9. I am sure that pos he had as a manager could not have been good for his demeanor. Hopefully, the next guy will treat him well and ease up on the workload.
  10. I don't know how to trim this, but it is what I think about with these odd Stan sigs.
  11. Nice. Seems a bit under graded, unless I am missing something.
  12. ? I don't know how that is. Are there stats that back that up? It is a shame that your art was damaged, but to basically say that framing is what everyone does is a bit of a big umbrella to put over collectors. Especially if it is comic art pages. That is why they have portfolios, so that people can store their art in different ways.
  13. I have been on ebay several times today, and even just listed some books for sale. No problems.
  14. Here is the link to the Inkwell Awards caf page. I find it interesting to see how the inker will sometimes overwhelm the pencils with their style. http://www.comicartfans.com/GalleryDetail.asp?GCat=35444
  15. I have 2 Star Trek pages where I have both pencil and inked versions. The Gordon Purcell pencils and Bob Almond inks. I have both sets in connected frames. I have seen where some people prefer the inked versions of pages, when both are available, more due to the closer to production aspect.
  16. There's a comic book there? I don't see it!
  17. Just got this. The cover is so cool. Nice colors. I have a thread in the PGM area if anyone wants to help. This is a keeper for me.
  18. I recently bought this from an online dealer for $50. This looks soooo much better than the grade it was assigned. Am I missing something? Everything attached firmly. PQ nice and light.
  19. Add to my ASM Silver Age slabs (16, 20, 34), and to my Silver Age raw Batman and Tecs.
  20. I am not a lucky person, so I don't have anything that would really be considered a score, and conversely I am a conservative buyer and don't have any real regrets. Don't know if that is a gift or a curse.
  21. Huntress, but any of the Birds of Prey would totally do (Greg Land style).
