  1. Seems like lately Modern FT are unofficially taking a month or less.
  2. Yes. If you assume five days of work a week, the current turnaround time for Pressing alone is 13 months. Six days a week is 11 months. That doesn't even include a potential of up to 5 months for grading. Worst case you may not get them until May 2023. I would be more inclined to say early 2023 though.
  3. And my second modern Pre-screen from 11/11 just sent to Grading/Encapsulation/Imaging
  4. 11/11/21 PRESCREEN - MODERN (Slow) Grading/Encapsulation/Imaging 11/11/21 PRESCREEN - MODERN (Slow) Scheduled for Grading Progress on one of two!
  5. Registered Mail don't follow the normal tracking number updates. They frequently go from origin to delivered. Don't worry too much about it. Registered is also one of the slowest ways to ship something, so a week+ is normal.
  6. Less than that. I think mine is about $130 a year, and that's in the middle of LA. Just get the smallest one and pick up the packages from the clerk or the machine if they have it.
  7. And stuff like this is why I have a PO Box specifically for my comic deliveries. They're cheap and pay themselves over with peace of mind.
  8. Definitely not a blanket statement here, but I think the more accurate number might be around 2016 for this question. That's when I feel store exclusive really took off.
  9. I guess if it's possible, I would find out what insurance claim he had in the first place, and how it relates to your comics. If damages were in the 60K plus range, that pretty much limits it to a fire or theft. If it was water damage, they still would exist. I could maybe see that stuff was stolen, but then your comics weren't listed in the theft, then discovering they actually were stolen well after the fact. However, it still seems fishy. Something really doesn't add up.
  10. I would also request a copy of the police report to make sure they actually were stolen.
  11. In theory, but if I'm going to pay $750 to grade and press books, I'd like some piece of mind before I gamble on getting 9.4s.
  12. So yeah, this is on UPS's end. They should be refunding CGC who in turn should be refunding you. I still wouldn't give up hope yet. I'm guessing perhaps the truck was in an accident and packages were damaged. That or someone broke into the truck.

  14. Anyone else have a printer defect on the back top left of HR1? Looks like a tiny spot where ink failed to roll? I have 60 copies total over the ABC variants and all have it to some extent. Don't have a picture handy right now, but was pulling out my copies last night and noticed this. Gonna suck if I have 0 9.8s.
  15. If you feel comfortable with it, post the tracking number. It'll help clear things up at least. Or post the full history minus the number if you're not.
  16. I meant the UPS cost to ship from CGC was cheaper than USPS since they aren't insuring, not that the company was cheaper. I'll take UPS any day over Fedex. As someone who used to work as a post office, this is largely BS. Sure every company has bad actors, but I never encountered one person who would steal mail.
  17. I'm not sure why you're mad at CGC. They mailed the book the way you opted for them to send it. You have every right to be frustrated at UPS. The reason it takes a while to get paid out is because CGC has to file a claim with UPS, then get reimbursed, and send it off to you. They won't just give you the money first because if UPS rules against them or finds it, they are out the money. I know it sucks, but that's business.
  18. 2.5 weeks is certainly not encouraging, but it's not unheard of for stuff to get lost. Your last update basically just shows it just delayed. That doesn't mean it's stolen, there could be many things that might have happened. Unfortunately, you are SOL if it gets lost. CGC warns anyone sending with FedEx or UPS their packages aren't fully insured. That's why they're cheaper. You pretty much are stuck with the $100 if it doesn't show up. Sorry to be the bearer of bad news.
  19. So CGC sent it and it went AWOL before delivery? I think you're pretty much screwed as I don't think they insure UPS. Once it's in the mail, it's pretty much out of CGC's hands. Do you have collectors insurance?
  20. Yeah just have it held at a FedEx location. FedEx is horrible at delivering at my home, so this way I know it will be safe.
  21. My last submission in mid-November, I was able to select individual grades for my pre-screen submission. However, now it looks like that's no longer an option, and you're stuck with one grade for the entire thing. When did that get change? The last price hike?
  22. Looking back at the last two in this thread, there was a Mid-August submission that got graded late Feb. The second was also from Mid-August and just got returned last week. Mine are from 11/12 and still SFG. So I probably have 30-60 days left for mine.
  23. It's possible some of the books got creased on or at the way to CGC. One of my submissions in the past came back with about five books with a crease all in the exact spot.
  24. 1000 copies may definitely take a while to sell, but if you get $50 a pop, it can be pretty worth it.
