Okay, who's up for some cheap and quick (but very nice shape) late-night action? I'm cutting prices, closing this tomorrow morning, and adding a few more bronze horror books that are laying around. Things must go and go fast; I have triggers to pull on other things I want in my collection. I was planning on a Gold and silver thread this weekend, but there's already been a lot of romance/GGA action this weekend, and I'm going to be heavy on the HTF high-grade pre-code romance when I get around to it (plus I got busy reading the Marvel Doc Savage run from 1972) so I'm offering these few nuggets instead for now. U.S. Only, payment in money order or check. Shipping - $5 first book, $7 for 2-3, actual thereafter. (I will ship first class or priority, whichever is cheaper, in a flip n ship comics mailer). Returns- Sure, just notify me within three days of receipt and get it back in the same shape on your dime, unless I missed something. Don't be listy

Went back to that LCS well today for one more piece of high-grade bronze. Couldn't get the black cover out of my head.

Maybe look at things as two buckets of funds. Define for yourself (based on your own means) what constitutes cheap stuff, by which I mean you can buy it to read and tolerate not getting every penny back out of the purchase, similar to buying a new novel or going to the movies or some event. Then designate a portion for "fun investment" in books. But look at it as a slice of your entire investment portfolio, whatever makes that up. i suggest this because it sounds to me like you like collecting both because you truly enjoy comics as a medium, and you enjoy the business aspect (for lack of a better word) of the hobby as well. My father loved to follow horse racing, but he never failed to call it "investing" when placing a bet. I think it was his way of reminding himself to approach the betting aspect of his hobby with some discipline and restraint. It's in that vein that I make my suggestions.

Just as well! I'm supposedly trying not to buy anything until I look at a collection at the end of the month. But I'm not betting on myself. GLWTS!

Readcomix replied to Robot Man's topic in Golden Age Comic Books
Picked up this St. John 1948 annual yesterday. OSPG says rare. 16 comics bound togehter, lots of Lily Renee and Gladys Parker. -
Pat, forgive my ignorance, but what is that first item? Did you move beyond PCH and just hire your own witch doctor to Shrink a head??? It looks pretty cool, but I am not sure what I'm looking at.
