  1. The brevity suggested by my original title has long since been abandoned Eric. If it relates to the UK distribution of US comics, it's at home here. Nice 15 pee-er
  2. How can two of the West's greatest sharp shooters fire four shots between them, two each, and miss each other both times from eight feet? The blokes in the background must be rolling up. Even the horse would be on target from that distance.
  3. Listen to any more of that GG and it'll be the ledge. Anyway, I've been rightly chastised for making a few flippant posts in this 900 post thread, so I best depart before....
  4. Careful. That's only a few short steps from Limahl you know. Come to think of it, maybe the Lurkers are just
  5. Oh, no. He's pulled out the Dolce. Always have to go that little bit too far, don't you, GG.
  6. I like it GG. Moderation by eighties hits. Dohn't, dohn't, maaaake waaaaves...
  7. Yes, then every time someone complained about it, Mike could say "Oh darlin', aint no pleasing you"
  8. Here's a nice little original owner lot, currently on eBay: Brian Wood was the owner. We know this because he wrote his name on every issue: And every one has a T&P stamp, except the last one. So did that one escape Ethel's stampede do we think, or did Brian pop to the states on holiday Nice to think of Brian, popping to his local newsagent 60 years ago, all excited, isn't it....
  9. Yes, "Don't get cocky". Odd composition that one - haven't seen it before.
  10. Here's a tip for those who don't want to be contacted by Private Messaging (PM) by members who they don't get on with, but who would still like to see their forum posts. These are Desktop Instructions. Select 'Forums' > 'My Settings' > 'Ignored Users' as below: In the next screen, 'Ignored Users', start to type the name of the member that you wish to block Private Messages from (no @ symbol needed): When the user appears in the drop down list, select them: In the next screen you will see four 'Ignore' options: Posts Messages Mentions Signature If you select 'Messages' only, and then press 'Add User' then that member will no longer be able to send you Private Messages: Many members here comment on the ineffectiveness of the ignore function. The biggest problem is that when you block a member in full, you still see their comments when they are quoted by others. And the posts that they make show to you like so: So you are affectively reminded that you are ignoring them every time you read a thread in which they have posted. That can get annoying after a while, as your natural human instinct is to want to see what they have said, so the instructions above will allow you to block private messages only and retain sight of their posts, which you may find easier. It does mean that there is absolutely no reason why members who do not get on should be posting publicly that others won't leave them alone via PM. This stops that happening. If you don't like the cut of someone's jib, would like to avoid personal contact with them, but would still like to see their posts, then this is a handy application.
  11. Afternoon It's all quiet on the Australian front with no new Marvel finds to comment on. Stepping aside from Marvel for a moment, I've noticed a lot of eBay sellers incorrectly listing licensed Image reprints as "Australian Price Variants" lately. Here is one such listing: https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/144270047268?ssPageName=STRK%3AMEBIDX%3AIT&_trksid=p2060353.m1438.l2649 It shows an Australian reprint of the original US first printing of Spawn #12. If we compare it to the original book: US Original #12 $1.95 AUS Reprint #10 $3.95 And the indicias: US First Printing. July 1993, Printed in Canada AUS Licensed reprint (Trielle) December 1995, Printed in Australia Different barcodes too. The books are very similar, and could catch out those who are uneducated and unfamiliar with the differences. Like CGC, maybe Heh, heh. I made myself laugh there. Be careful, I'm saying!
  12. Glad it helped Unc. You can view other members profile history in the same way, so if you were looking for an old thread and remembered who started it, that's a good way to find it.
  13. Hello @Arkham This is something I see mentioned occasionally - members having trouble accessing their own posting history. Here's how you can do it. If you go to your profile page you'll see a "See their activity" tab over to the right like so: Click on that, and over to the left you will see "Topics" under "Forums" like so: Click on topics and you will see a list of every thread you have created since joining. If you select the second page like so... ...you'll see your feedback thread at the top there (titled to reflect a previous board name I presume): Click on that and you can then access the thread link and add it as your Kudos Thread or to your signature line. You can sort your threads by date order too using the "Sort By" button.
  14. Well, I gave it a go, and all the things that I think are out of place are still very much in evidence and, as a result, I still can't see Doctor Who anywhere in this incarnation. The main villain acted well, albeit I found some of his scenes were too graphically nasty for this show. That seems to be a Chibnall thing, a nastiness that is more suited to a different show. Not scary - nasty. The Dog had promise and the Sontarans were good. But the lead was her usual self. Chibnall can't seem to write the part of the Doctor. The dialogue is pedestrian and she had nothing of interest to say, as is the norm for this incarnation. Always the questions, always the frantic rushing around. Does she every pause for a moment? Nothing that he writes for her seems otherworldly. Just made up space sounding stuff like "it's coated in flux blah blah" is used to separate her from those around her. She's an underwhelming actress who seems lost in it all. Capaldi could anchor a bad episode and make it watchable. Whittaker is the weakest link in her own show. It's the perfect storm, alas, of a limited actress reading the lines of a limited scriptwriter. I found the background music annoying, again, if that helps anyone. And I felt like Chibnall wrote this story a few minutes after binge watching Star Wars films and Independence Day. In the same way that the nasty Cyberman was reminiscent of the Borg, the main villainous chap here was a bit too Palpatiney for it not to be obvious. And, another constant Chibnall thing it seems, a history is hinted at that the Doctor knows nothing about. My Mum text me "They've thrown everything but the kitchen sink at it". I replied "Yes. And missed". I know it's bad form to laugh at your own jokes, but I found that funnier than anything in the show.
  15. AARRRRRRRGH, FOCACCIA THAT HURT!
