  1. They actually do that to mark territory, and it's usually an aggressive mark. As in, they will lock eyes on you & maintain eye contact while flinging the poo with their tail. That's a sign you are far too close to one of these dangerous beasts. *themoreyouknow.jif* It just seemed appropriate to the thread Slym. Big beasts who are full of it and like to throw it around
  2. "IT'S--HIM!! HE KNOWS I'M HERE!" "NOT UNDER THERE..." "HE'LL NEVER STOP TILL HE FINDS ME!" "....NOT THERE EITHER..." "HE SEES ME--OH NO! NO!!" "FOUND YOU! HA HA, HA! YOUR TURN!"
  3. "THE DOOR THAT WOULDN'T OPEN!" "HAD A BIG HOLE IN IT." "THAT YOU COULD LEAN THROUGH." "TO OPEN IT....." "We haven't thought this one through have we Barry?"
  4. I fought Colossus and Co-lossus won, I fought Colossus and Co-lossus won!
  5. Agreed. I get what you're saying there Roy. The trouble with this one is that neither option is an obvious front runner as both come with pros and cons. My thinking was that if I read a thread from the top, I've already read any post that is subsequently quoted. So if I only see the first few lines, which show me who is being responded to, I can then read the next persons post more easily without having to scroll past the full duplicated quote. If someone started a thread with a long post, and there were 10 replies, half of which quoted the first long post, there's a lot to scroll through and dodge. So a reduction would help. Where people post, say, five pictures of their CGC books in one post, and someone quotes "cool books Barry!" it's a pain to have to see all five again. And again. And again (etc.) On the flip, if I join a thread late, and work backwards (which I'm sure we all do?), not seeing the quotes in full could be irksome. So it's a straight toss up between two scenarios which I'm sure for both I would find a reason to be annoyed, depending on the reading situation at the time. On balance, I think less is more, and would prefer a less cluttered thread with less scrolling of duplication to an occasional need to expand a quote. But it's hard to know for sure without experiencing it. I asked about the impact on pictures earlier and got a response which Kav at least thought was sarcastic. I was reading the opening post on my phone, couldn't really see the 'Martin' picture reduction example and didn't see pictures mentioned in the thread title or supporting wording. I would guess most people will miss the chance to vote for this change as it has only been posted in Comics General. Maybe an announcement or a post in the 'Change Requests and Voting' section would extend the audience.
  6. Got ya, sorry, I didn't get that straight away. Good idea in my view
  7. I feel a bit sorry for them. Whatever the merits, they've put so much work into it. In the 6500 thread I think I can see young feet in superman pyjamas in the first few photos, so it may be a young kid who just needs a little friendly guidance. I'll drop them a line and see if I can give them a few pointers.
  8. Thanks for taking the time to share all these lovely pictures Ryan. It looks like a really interesting day out you had there. I'm feeling a particular affinity with Boerke right now.... it must be the cow picture a few posts back And is that you Smurfing in the reflection there?
  9. I feel that is why most people were upset with his posts I don't think that's true, or fair. I've created and contributed to a good many threads with comic related content.
  10. They let you in early at 11:00 if you pay a fiver now. That gives you one hour of relatively free browsing. Then at 12:00 the flood gates open and the cast of Troy descend making it difficult to move or look at anything. I managed three hours in total. You realise you're getting old when you let out a deep groan every time you (try to) get up from looking through boxes on the floor. I've been going for 30+ years. It used to be monthly, but now it's much less frequent. And though I still enjoy it, it has an air of dying out about it. Same old stock, same old dealers. But the walk through the back streets of London on a sunny day to get there is always an enjoyable break from the terrors of one's daily existence. And the last time I did it I met Michael C Hall on his way to the Bowie rehearsals. All I could manage was "Dexter rocks!" Not the type of language I would usually use and stunningly embarrassing, but there you go. All good fun.
  11. The high grade 9d Strange Tales #75 (first pence copy produced for that title) was a little out of my price range. Which is a shame, because who wouldn't want a 9d Taboo!
  12. This is what comics are supposed to look like! I was struggling to find a decent image of this one online for the file, so thought I'd snag it at today's London Comic Fair for a mere two and a half of our Englandville Pounds. No new finds though, so we're still stuck on 2,996 pence variants.
  13. What, and betray a confidence? What kind of person do you think I am? I want at least 15 answers to that. There may be a prize for the funniest.
