  1. Great example too! In my CAF I use rare to describe Kirby/BWS team and BWS/Everett team because there are ~ 12 pages of each
  2. I sold 9 of 24 pages including a few pages that didn't sell last time (but I didn't raise the prices either) - I bought a handful of pages as well and missed 2 other pages. To buy these days, you have to know your sub-market pretty well so not so easy for a new entrant to know they are getting a fair shake. I'm not a fan of folk that list items at 2-3 X value as if they sell the likely newer buyer is now turned off a great hobby - I don't have an answer but don't feel the community should be supportive of the behavior either. I'd grant an exclusion for the whole birth page thing. In summary, I think CAL is awesome!
  3. I've been after a Creeper page for years but the right opportunity didn't present itself and does seem they have popped in last 2 years or so....I imagine as the ASM gets so high that folk look to this series (like me)...I'd be shocked if it went for less than $12.5k...one opinion
  4. Southern California restorer is Gordon Christman He does work for the most prominent collectors and dealers - and I believe stays away from PR and politics
  5. What a killer set of pages - ASM 23 with Green Goblin - Wowza! You can buy any comic book but you can't say the same for original art!
  6. I don't remember where but the rumor I heard was a woman donated it
  7. Unpublished as-is Uminga Young Frankenstein (published in his art books I believe) with an additional, unpublished Gerhard background
  8. Pretty close to cloud cloddie... I am looking to complete two stories and pick up more art by my favorites - check out my CAF http://cafurl.com?i=23828 1. 1971 BWS / Everett Kazar Astonishing Tales story 2. 1977 Sal Buscema Nova 11 I spent more than planned this year - did sell/trade to mitigate but still need to get better at culling the herd - when I look through my collection, I just like everything too much - but some of the prices are getting silly! Happy Hunting! Mark
  9. Great specific ask - so let me bump it up by sharing that I am interested in Chabela story, SSOC 40 - 43
  10. Off top of my head, top 3 I think of: Jeff C. Jones - the 'cartouche' Bill Everett Steranko
  11. This is a tough one - but for me, it is Sub-Mariner 57 100% Everett with Sub-Mariner and Venus...underwater!
  12. No more reaction to this? If it was his first appearance I guess I get it but otherwise, wow - it is a great one for sure so congrats to all!
  13. Ok - so, I'll take a guess but...first, from Wikipedia on Mr. Byrne, he was born in England Byrne was born in Walsall, Staffordshire, and raised in West Bromwich, also in Staffordshire,[3] where he lived with his parents, Frank and Nelsie, and his maternal grandmother. While living there, prior to his family emigrating to Canada when Byrne was 8, he was first exposed to comics, saying in 2005 If we say, he is Canadian then I'll guess....Byrne, Wolverine, Iron Fist 14 or 15? Mark
  14. Hello Community - and specifically American Flagg experts Question - is this 1986 Rod Whigham pinup published - I am thinking it would be in a later issue but do not have a complete collection of this title. If so, where? Thanks in advance! Mark
  15. There is a decent solution for this - I have a "gone but not forgotten" favorites folder - not the standard folder but the ones you can set up and point to other's art...so if someone has posted a piece of art I sold them or that I used to own and made its way to their collection, I add it to this folder and it links to their gallery...if someone comments, it is on their entry.
  16. This may not be the only FF11 SS - but it is Stan Lee's File Copy...I have a soft spot for the Impossible Man!
  17. I believe this is posted in the wrong forum....
