  1. How do you assign a value to the Planet 1 cover art??? This auction is really unprecedented. I can't imagine what it might net. $20 million? More?
  2. Looking through the catalog. This Berk guy has some funny books.
  3. If you want an AF 15 and can afford one now, buy it. It will cost more later. Guarantee.
  4. Confused on "danger" in storing books in safes?? As best I can determine, there is a consensus that storing books in safes promotes rust to staples. But after researching the subject, I can't find a logical scientific basis for such a blanket indictment of all safes. I get that some safes have liquid insulation, their interiors "sweat", and that such safes would absolutely not be suitable for comic storage. But what about gun safes with drywall insulation? What possible danger could they pose to comics?
  5. The lower grade complete RESTORED copies of Tec 27 and Action 1 now have a buy-in point of $200,000. Think I'm wrong? Find a complete copy of either for less than that. And both are going nowhere but up. Supes 1 and the other mega keys will not lose value either.
  6. Best looking auction I've seen in many years. Tons of great Fox stuff that just ain't been available in a long time. Anywhere.
  7. No, every book. So AF 15 has got to be in the top 10, but no other non-GA book would be. A copy of AF 15 has brought $1.1 million. It's a top 10 book, period.
  8. The entry level for a complete restored Tec 27 or Action 1 is now at least $200,000. If anyone disagrees, try finding one for less. I doubt you can. I have a Tec 27, 6.5 B-3 with a 1/8 inch right edge trim. Matt Nelson did the work on it. I'd hope that it would appraise for $300,000. Find one for less than that, complete? Buy it if you can afford to. And they are only going UP from here, same with Action 1.
  9. Just valuation, as in the Overstreet lists. Which ain't close to accurate. It appears the consensus here would be that A1 and T27 are tied at #1, then Supes 1 #3, then Bats 1, then Cap 1. That's the five most valuable/desirable books in the hobby regardless of era. What are the next five? Marvel 1 is probably #6, right?
  10. This is discussed about once a year. I'd say right now T27 and A1 are tied for #1, Supes 1 is clearly #3. Then? Contrary to Overstreet, I'd then go with Bats 1, Marvel 1, Cap 1. What then? How far down should AA16 really be? How far up should Amazing Fantasy 15 really be, considering a copy has actually sold for well over $1 million?
  11. Clearly the #3 book in the hobby now, no question.
  12. He can buy Berk's whole collection if he wants to do so.
  13. Got blown away on the one book I've bid on.
  14. Obviously the better copies of Tec 27 and Action 1 qualify, with the very best few copies of each now worth multi-millions. There have been sales of AF 15 exceeding $1 million. What about the very top copies of Bat 1, Supes 1? How many legit million dollar individual items are out there now? Maybe fifty books total?
  15. This is generally regarded as the second or third greatest collection in the world, correct? With the dentist at #1, Berk/Verzyl next?
