  1. Well a .5 incomplete Wonderworld 7 went for 3,120 on HA in March. By that standard this 1.8 went a little low don't you think? Probably go for double today easily.
  2. I was fortunate enough to win this lovely book last night. I know I overpaid. I've decided that when I get it it's going to CGC to be put in a nice shiny holder and also that gives Jack Kirby some credit. Pretty sure Mystery Men 10 and Science Comics 4 were the first time Simon and KIrby teamed up in the comic biz. My main concern is a downgrade. Anyone see anything that stands out(or doesn't stand out) that might cause it to get a lower grade? I know it's got tape, that doesn't usually affect grade right? Thanks Edit: If I broke a rule by posting a pic of another company let me know and I'll edit the pics. I just wanted everyone to see what the label said about the tape. Thanks
  3. Thanks. I've wanted this one for a long time. One of Flessels best covers.
  4. My comiclink losing streak finally ended tonight with this. Thank you Mr Flessel!
  5. Such colors. Seems the interior artwork didn't suffer any in the later issues. Looking it up It CGc says "Louis Cazeneuve cover and art". He was pretty good, no wonder DC later hired him. So was whoever did the inking. Good stuff.
  6. Yes I saw that and I was wondering. Thought it might be some kind of glitch. If it belongs to someone here I mean no offense but why would someone hold off for 9k when it was bid up to 100 less? Maybe it just automatically went to the exchange.
  7. I'd be satisfied with a 5.5 too. Voodoo 14 seems to be a tough book to find, but 6k+ for a 7.0? yikes. Another big sale was this. 8,900. that's high. You can get a nice mid grade one for under 1,000. These higher grade pch's are going crazy these days.
  8. It's basically if you want something, especially GA stuff, you have to overbid and hope no one else does the same or if they do not to the same extent of insanity as you did. I've been outbid at the final seconds about 10 consectutive times now , or my bid just gets kicked. Is there any sadder word than ERROR?
  9. Yep, I only have access to HA, CC, Goldin, Hakes, and eeebay from the site I use. And if anybody needs any past sales info of any book feel free to ask in a pm or wherever. I got nothing else going on these days. And yeah mid grade AF 15's are taking a shellacking lately.
  10. Yes it's weak. Hulk 1 3.0's were coming down too until everyone decided they had to have the one tonight. To be fair it was a nice Hulk 1 and a not so nice AF 15. Still Hulkamania almost topped it brother! That never happens.
  11. I see you already looked it up but yeah.......several is right. Hulk is even catching up.
  12. You got me by just 6 years but amassing those books at just 19 is quite commendable even in 82, heck even in 72. I guess you passed on the 3.5 that just ended a few days ago? I doubt you'll have to worry about the here. But that's a good thing. Better that people with enough money for that are spending it on stuff like that rather than the stuff we want.
  13. Oh nice. That one's not bad at all. Cover image looks good. "Prime focus area" as some say. I don't remember that one and I don't see it on HA or CC sales so I guess comiclink as well? I was hoping everyone would be thinking like you and bailing at 25k so I went 2 incriments over. Kinda bummed because I think this was most likely my only chance ever on getting an AC 7. But that's how it goes. Guess I'll just focus on upgrading my AC 23 a bit. To me considering what it is and how few are out there I don't think 27K was overpaying at all. Not putting down AF 15's but I'll take a 1.0 AC 7 over a 3.0 AF 15 any day of the week.
  14. Those Centaurs sure are nice. I've got my sights on a few tomorrow. How about this AC 7? Sure is a nice looking 1.0. I really wanted it but someone wanted it more. $1,527.00 more to be exact. For a very brief moment I thought my dream just might come true. 6 seconds to be exact. Oh well. Other than that not so great looking bottom right, book looks better than a 1.0 and better than any of the 1.8's I've seen. What do you all think of that final price?
  15. Beautiful books . Both by far the highest graded. Catman 8 is such an awesome cover.
  16. Ah the image. No that's just a t-shirt logo I found. Only 13 bucks. Good. We are 110%.
  17. I know! He's remembering people and places and situations from around 60 years back, like it was yesterday. That channel has a lot of good interviews with many who are no longer with us. At least physically.
  18. Happy Thanksgiving. I don't think we are not agreeing at all. Other than the main image on BB 105 there is the green side panel, the 4 exploding things (three on top, one big one on bottom), and dialogue bubbles. That's it right? I'm saying without the exploding boxes and greenside bar it would have looked better.
  19. I had it good growing up in the 70's and 80's on a beach town in New Jersey. 5 minute bike ride to the boardwalk that had dozens of arcades, some open all year even in the Winter when it was darn near a ghost town. Golden Age of video games. We'd have the whole arcade to ourselves. Every week new games. I think I played 99% of every video game ever made from 1978 to 1989, and pinballs too. Some arcades had some really neat old stuff probably from the 1930's to 1950's. Funny story, some person named GOD had crazy high scores on so many games up there. Like impossible high scores. But we never met GOD in any of the arcades, always wondered who this guy was. In the late 90's I met a guy in a bar who used to give change in one of the arcades. He used to work on the games too all over the boardwalk. Like a video game repairman. He was GOD. And he was a fraud. He knew how to put those crazy scores in them without playing them.
  20. Did you make that chart? If so wonderful work. Lotta work there. If not thanks anyway. How complete do you think that is? Is that every Promise book that has been resold in public or just on Heritage or .......?
  21. No no oh no no no. Well maybe just a little. I just picture some mother in the 50's telling her husband, after a hard day at the office, "I found this in Juniors bureau". And Dad says, "He's fine".
  22. That's a cover you show to some people and they say, "What's wrong with you?". Not here though.
  23. I agree. ......with every book but that one. No, I do agree. Eeeetz just so much money man. Ah the Batman 1 splash, the poor man's Bat 1. And here is the flat broke rent collector's knocking trying to get in Bat 1. Wait a minute, didn't you just sell a Bat 1 at the perfect peak time in history? Don't answer don't answer. Actually the true poor mans Bat 1 would be a page of the Ginger Snap story. Still says 1st Joker and The Cat on the label.
