  1. nevermind… nothing to see here
  2. ...was a better album than Incesticide
  3. I’m happy to abide by whatever rules govern the voting, but if it were open to debate, I would think most collectors would be in favor of being able to vote for their true top 5 pieces whether they own some of them or not.
  4. City life ain’t what it used to be. Sorry to hear of Seattle’s struggles.
  5. I just finished my votes up today. Congrats to everyone for picking up so many great pieces, presenting me with hard choices to vote for just 5 per category. Thanks to Brian and Bill for putting this together! It’s something I look forward to each year.
  6. Too far from me, but being close to the boarder.. you may see a fair share of Canuckleheads ; )
  7. Scott we've all been there. I shoot for a 70% correct facts rate ; )
  8. Good tip. One thing that was a bit difficult to learn for me was - it is ok to gracefully exit long negotiations when you get the feeling your enthusiasm for piece in a deal is started to be taken advantage of a bit too much. When asked for “Just a little more” yet again that was my cue to gracefully part ways from a deal. I had a feeling that I had already given too much and I could have regrets if my previous offer was accepted. I was happy to give the other guy the better end of the deal. Especially, since I initiated the trade talks. Don’t let the fact you had invested so much time in negotiations cloud your judgement. Deal or no deal, always be pleasant during the course of trade talks, because for most of us, it is a hobby. End of thread drift… D&D Art by Bill Willingham was insanely interesting to me… why didn’t someone have him draw a D&D comic?!?
  9. My solution would be keep the original as is an have a blueline inked to your liking.
  10. Severely fading ink really presents the owner with a dilemma, keep it as is and have a piece that appearance is greatly hampered or have it re-inked and have the integrity of the piece greatly diminished. I think most would keep it as is. If you aren't cool with the piece's fading ink, perhaps you should pass it by and let someone who wouldn't re-ink it be it's caretaker, BUT I do understand the impulse of trying to fix it.
  11. If it was reinked I would think the seller have it would noted in the description.
  12. not sure how hard it is to get Comiclink to revise their description, but here’s their current description: DEATH OF CAPTAIN MARVEL COVER - AUCTION BEGINS SOON 1994, New cover for trade paperback printing of Starlin's classic 1982 graphic novel
  13. To save others the hassle… I went to HA looked up what this is a cover to and it is- Terry Moore Strangers in Paradise #1 Cover Original Art (Abstract Studio, 1994)....
  14. You wonder if we Bronze age kids, who’s first art love were Byrne, Miller and Perez, aren’t as apt to go hard after the older art of Kirby, Ditko, Adams. As the collectors of silver age art wind it down, you get a bit softer demand for their work. Maybe ten years from now the Lee, Kieth, McFarlane markets reach their peak as the Byrne, Miller, Perez market softens.
  15. It will definitely shrink departments where writing is involved. Add the AI illustration ability of midjourney and this will be the year you will see AI erode the opportunities of creative professionals.
  16. For me, I think the Janson inks over Miller on DD is what tips the scales in my preference of the DD run over Wolverine. Don't get me wrong, Joe Rubinstein is a fine inker, but the Miller/Janson team is hard to beat.
  17. Best of luck to you all on the auction! May the sellers set record prices and may each buyer find the steal of the auction : ) GO GET EM!
  18. … and the shorts buy at the absolute bottom - $50 Kirby FF for everyone!
  19. I like the never-ending conflict between the sky is falling and the skys the limit camps. One day we'll finally find out who's ultimately right... let's just hope we're still alive to do something about it ; )
  20. Well that is pretty darn awesome lots of good energy in that piece! Cosmic Ghost Rider is a cool character!
  21. I was just thinking about how cool that Kirby project was yesterday… then today you post this killer piece! Today I’m thinking wouldn’t it be cool if I won the Mega Millions jackpot ; )
