  1. As I said (and some people didn't believe). Makes sense unless/until Abrams reanimates fandom's love for the Star Wars brand.
  2. Sorry, not sorry, but you're wrong. Go re-read my post, think about what you did, and respond in proper fashion newbie. I'll give you a clue: "To a lot of women, this movie is." This movie is... What..? That doesn't answer any question that I had or mirror any sentiment that I conveyed in my post. There are no context clues in my post, or your response, to provide readers with an idea of what you're thinking or attempting to communicate.
  3. "Fixed" what, exactly? It's 99.9% pure gold, and the MSRP on a non-graded replica is $5k, not $7k. You didn't fix anything.
  4. FWIW, the phenomenal Ultimate Edition of Batman v Superman is Rated-R... I like Venom, and the symbiote himself was pretty good/okay in this movie, but not good enough for me to enjoy it more than the crappy (theatrical) version of BvS. I think we just disagree here.
  5. It's not a variant... It's a pure gold replica of a cover (which it does say).
  6. If we're talking about theatrical release, then it depends on the audience. On one hand, you can watch a visually stunning representation of a modern The Dark Knight Returns and Death of Superman film, with great acting on the parts of both titular characters, a great cameo for Wonder Woman, and a great score. On the other hand, you have a movie that isn't really stunning in any fashion... You just have Tom Hardy trying his best to make you not want to gag...
  7. I have read that the visual directing is good, though. Any truth to that?
  8. This really says enough for me: "Roger Ebert of the Chicago Sun-Times gave the film one out of four stars and said, "There is not a trace of human emotion in it. To call the characters cardboard is to insult a useful packing material."
  9. I didn't even know that USPS deals in money orders. I worked for CVS/pharmacy for 5 years, and many, many people use MoneyGram to pay rent. I've only ever used them to post a deposit on my apartment. I only ever bought a certified check once.
  10. I tried to read the first referenced article, but I have no idea what's happening here...
  11. Cyborg's relationships and genesis are infinitely more interesting than a human spy. If you don't see that, then there's some disconnect here.
  12. Are you being intentionally cryptic? This isn't a valid response to any of my questions or statements... Aside from Captain Marvel, none of the above characters are interesting enough for a solo movie. That's the point. I love how you gloss over the entirety of my post, to introduce new dialogue, without first addressing what we were already discussing.
  13. Oh, and for the record, the CGC-graded foil replicas (minted by NZ, at least) are on the census.
  14. What grade is it right now..? Tough to make any calls without any images...
  15. Definitely keep it raw. If it's not easily a 9.2+ or signed w/witness it's not worth getting slabbed.
  16. I just find them really cool, and still intend on collecting them, because they're perfect replicas (if you get the Gem Mint 10s) of comics that I'll never own originals (Action #1, Detective #27, etc). Would you rather own a graded reprint? Difference for me is that I'll never "read" either, so the cover in pure silver is just something nice to have on display.
  17. Anyone know if it's on Netflix or Hulu? I'm not paying to watch it, and I'm not gonna risk getting dinged by my ISP for downloading copyright property again...
  18. Uh... What..? Black Widow isn't relative, inspiring, or meaningful. She's a triple-crossing spy, who falls over herself in servitude of organizations that she thinks will help "wipe her ledger", while doing nothing special in the stories she's represented in. Again, a character should generate hype for everything outside of their gender. Lack of representation for women, really? Scarlet Witch, Gamora, Nebula, Mantis, Okoye, Shuri, The Ancient One, Pepper (from Day 1), upcoming Captain Marvel? Black Widow does not need a solo film. The MCU doesn't need an origin story for a character introduced a decade ago.
  19. Can it really be worse than Punisher: War Zone? I already wasted 10 minutes of my life on that eye-eviscerating chit show.
  20. And this is the problem. A character shouldn't generate hype for their gender. A character should generate hype for being relative, inspiring, or something meaningful, etc. Wonder Woman was mostly a good movie because of its titular character, story, and direction. Not because Diana Prince and Gal Gadot are females. Black Widow and Hawkeye are equally crappy characters within the MCU. I don't discriminate.
  21. "10" is the grade. "First Release" indicates that it was graded within 1 month of it being minted. There have only been 10 minted of the gold cover replica (there were 1,000 minted of the silver cover replica). Edit Added: To my knowledge, only 2 of the 10 gold replicas were graded.
  22. Aaaaaaaand this is why it struggled (in addition to the Episode VIII backlash). While many people I know say it was "somewhat enjoyable", they also said that it spits in the faces of its audience, while turning "nothings" (really, the dice prop means something now..?) into "somethings" in place of actual storytelling. I'll see it for free on TV/Netflix some day. And, for the billionth time, Abrams being at the helm of Episode IX will bring me to theaters to see that one once or twice, at minimum.
